Strategy?
Front Mission 5.

Action RPG?
Front Mission : Gun Hazard.

2D Action Platformer?
Though answer, probably Cybernator, Metal Warriors, or Assault Suit Leynos.

Fighting ?
Gundam Wing Endless Duel.

Never played the Armored Core games but people seem to like them.
Also don't like those games like Mechwarrior, it's not my cup of tea.
