I concede defeat. Psi monk is superior to normal monk. With a telekinetic proxy, you effectively punch three times. Your psionic punch is even stronger than your normal punch but only your normal punch benefits from crits and can amplify your psionic punches even more by triggering bone breaker's mechanical damage bonus. Not to mention, the sheer utility of having sure hit and a fuck ton of stuns. Dodgy fucks? TK Punch or shock, no tasers required, then beat them to death. Fucking proxy does over a hundred damage when you move it with maxxed strength and corporeal projection. I wish electrokinesis also scaled with your strength, but you can take up electrostatic electricity and freely specc on it to make nearly every hit a crit. with focus stim, no infused rathound required. My only real complaint is Psi crabs and Nagas being annoying as fuck with their absurd mech resistance and electric resistance. I've been thinking of getting Expose Weakness just for them, but I can still crit nagas for 500 damage with TK punch on Trance.

I don't really care about the realism argument, just don't like the idea of losing power by raising a stat. This implementation focuses on making the best tool for the job 1. Metal Gloves, and 2. Strength builds, which is good enough unless something better becomes apparent.

So with pic related, Heavy Punch, etc. I think it makes sense to have a light fist and a heavy fist in each slot, and I think that works thematically and is hopefully fun. If the implementation is right. A sliding scale of weapons from bare fist to heavy metal fist, a sliding scale of dex to str. Or maybe just none of them are worth taking due to the Feat tax on fists already being pretty high.

Hopefully it works. Should be playable on ALL armor types, if there are no major oversights. The tuning on the self-damage is extremely tight, not sure if the numbers are right.

It's hard for me to tell what the character has equipped, yes, I had that problem with riot armor as well. Not slavjank problem though, I'm certain there's a way to do it if you know what you're doing, I just don't have anything to copy off of. Based on what I've seen so far I think Styg must be a really good programmer, because it's organized in a way that is comprehensible to someone who knows nothing. There's structures I can rely on to be consistent, and make inferences from. It was planned with foresight because the architect was aware of what would be required.
Actually, It's been a few weeks now, but I think maybe the reason I went with active cost was because I couldn't find un-modified cost originally. I'll look into that again and try to solve it more elegantly, maybe something other than AP cost. Maybe I really can identify material.
Thanks for the feedback as always. Really need some other eyes to take a look at it every once in awhile.

The transfer TC ability too would let you get AP back on kill so they'll be more usefull for utility psi runs with LOC

Well well well, look who's the little moron now. Turns out I had gotten base AP working and just forgotten to update my notes, so it works like this:
>Unarmed per stack 10%, 30% total
>Leather glove per stack 12%, 36% total
>Metal glove per stack 16%, 48% total threshold/DR bypass
And the hit that applies the 3rd stack has its damage repeated, so if you apply the last 2 stacks with a single combo + Heavy Punch hit, you get a fat load of damage, and then instantly do the same damage again with armour bypass.

If this were a feat, that's what I would suggest spec points are for. I guess in this case it would make sense to buff it up to that amount WITH a Feat. Which would also have to have other effects.

My main problem with them though is even not going into the mediocre buffs they provide predation cost too much in both Psi and AP to use even when killing a bunch with LOC since it doesn't refill your reserves. It could go down to 10 or 5 AP and tranq making it free would still barely make it worth using.
Skill tranfer TC ability prob should of been 5AP and 30 psi cost from the start. What the hell was STYG on making that one cost 20AP and 80 psi. Plasma beam/implosion don't even have that absurd cost and they do actual damage

Not much to tell really. Max per, max crossbow, max perception, and max mechanics until you hit the softcap at 80 (Hypercerebrix and crafting bench would get you a 160 quality crossbow before crafting nerf because its bonuses don't add to crafting skill requirement). Get traps to 50 for deadly snares. Level everything else as you please.

This is why you don't need defensive skills. You will crit nearly every time with max stealth ambush, focus stim, seeker lens, and recklessness. No survival instincts needed.
This isn't even getting into shockbolts stunning, flashbangs for group CC, crawler caltrops and bolts, incendiary bolts, and so on. Just insane fucking utility and damage.

Lightning, acid, and fire. You won't need to care about dealing enough mechanical damage against resistant enemies. There is an option for everything. And it goes by your crit bonus.

It's kind of limited, in a lot of ways. Area attacks, traps and direct psi powers are the only ways I know of for bypassing the mirror image thing. Lots of things are area attacks, including obviously metatherm psi powers. Neural overload being a direct damage that ignore so many different defenses is a central feature that keeps TC functional. Psi interrupt is obviously a strong power against any enemy psi, and if you're high enough you could one-shot him with it. Bear traps and caltrops are so powerful they're basically mandatory for literally EVERY build in the game, along with grenades.
That said, there's temporal manip shenanigans you could get up to. If you could find a way to hit him with a sniper shot before he put up the mirror images (good luck with that), you could use temp manip to cause the damage to repeat. If he heals himself use undo to strip the healing. And of course distortion is direct, so it bypasses, too, but you'd have to spend a few turns stacking it.
I actually have not tested with TK punch or whatever would bypass his mirror images. I generally regard psychokinesis as a weak school for my playstyle since it's more about key moments and then waiting for cooldowns.

These were all good things desu. Also there's a solver for the music puzzle, mutagen puzzle, and a mod for the phone puzzle that turns the tones into tts voice w/ assigned numbers to each tone. spirit graveyard is also like not even a puzzle you just have to pay attention to what the characters say and i don't remember what else you needed for it, probably int for yngwar? fuck it's been a while.
I think hacking and lockpick minigames are probably going to be turbo gay tedium, but i'll wait to see how they're done.
styg should find a way to add security pins and counter rotation and various levels of tensioning to the lockpick minigame ahahaaaa

As it is you kinda go through Underrail alpha striking the shit out of everything and if you don't you get bilocuted, netted then sniped and gang bashed, plasma beamed, etc.
It just suuucks so much that there are all these bosses with names and sometimes stories but your only interaction with them is a 1 turn kill or stunning them the entire fight because they'll 1 turn kill you if you let them get a full turn of attacks on you.
I want these guys to show me what they've got without dying.

traps not important at all. nades are anti-synergy because they take utility slots from special arrows, but it's not a big deal. you only need shock bolts and maybe fire bolts anyway, but they're more fun than grenades that you always use otherwise.

Controversial opinion but it must be said. Everyone builds knives or fists with an exclusive focus on either one. After having played both, I decided to combine fists and knives. Serrated tungsten knife with shock in one hand and reinforced metal glove with hammer in the other.
Its genuinely the best build when both types of weapons are used. The fist gives you crowd control with the hammer, and can let you incapacitate a whole group and then cut into each enemy individually if they are spaced out enough with your knife. Knives deal with robots alot easier than fists as well. I stacked up a ton of caps from Phreak and with a reinforced metal it hits fucking hard. Im not a big fan of vile weaponry so fuck bladed gloves. The extra damage from reinforcing stacks well with the crit bonus specs, especially if you crit with the hammer proc.
Highly recommended you zoners to try a dex build with 10 int to get specialist. Im maxing out critical power and cheap shots crit and at level 22 I have around 450% crit with a tungsten knife and 330 with a metal glove. I have only have 7 points out of 10 in the critical power spec and cheap shots spec. Im thinking about maxing out ripper to get monster crits with my knife and shred bots easier. If u put 3 points in reckless spec, with the skull bandana I will have exactly 70% crit with focus stim.
Still on the fence about high technicalities being worth it. I haven't taken it yet but I think I'll try it and reload if it isn't good. I honestly might take weaponsmith for the extra crit chance with the knife.

The compound, depending on player choices is a fully stocked and maintained facility ready to roll and be activated (could literally take core city or the entire south with that alone)
University/ institute of tchort. Fully abandoned, intacr and ready to be reclaimed. Also probably the only place outside of core city with a high technology potential.
Numerous biocorp facilities like lost vault, omega, epone lab.
Riftwalking could also allow massive advantages. Grey army base could be looted as well.
Entirety of lemuria.
Mpc could become stronger than oligarchs if they played it correctly. I guess tanner is more important tho. Maybe keep old man jonas as king and tell him to do all that?

Welp traumatising Old Jonas and calling Newton wussy ends up my run. Shotgun on old dominating difficulty was fun, in early game they suck ass, Depot-A was cakewalk but then again I suffered a lot until 15lv then combination of shotgun perks, infused sea wyrm armour and crit stacking shotgun turned up ridiculous fun. Now I'm curious how would glass cannon shotgun works but I can't stop playing half-ass tanky builds.

They turn out really good. I made a 13 agility "zoom 'n boom" build a long time ago that used blitz, expert sprint, strider boots, and infused hopper armor. I had more movement than I ever knew what to do with.
You can also fuck around with combat shotties, though they aren't as insane as pumps in terms of raw damage. Which is still crazy to me considering burst AR is so good. Not that combat shotguns are bad, they just feel forgotten. You don't get commando or concentrated fire for some reason, and all the combat shotguns have odd shell counts. And regardless of if your burst 5 shells or 2, it still costs a fucking ass load of AP.

Based. I don't get the high people get on insanely overpowered alpha striker 1 turn kill everything builds. It gets boring once you reach that point. Tanky builds require preparedness, drugs, rolling with the punches and adapting as the encounter unfolds. Way less predictable, way more fun imo. And not in a gay way like swords.

Another little tip for fists I don't know if new players are aware of. I always try to keep my metal glove "loaded". What this means is a good fister keeps a pocket pneumatic hammer ready to go. If I'm finishing up a combat encounter, I will finish off the last 1 or 2 enemies depending on if I crit with my glove. I always keep count of the hits required to activate the hammer. If I'm at 3 hits I will always switch to my knife and kill the remaining enemy. Then for the next battle I have a pocket hammer ready to go when I need it.
Be surprised how useful it is to go on a knife crit rampage when you have one enemy left who will one hit kill you and all you gotta do is hit him once and incapacitate him for 5 turns with your offhand fist. Then finish him off with the knife next turn.

Yea, wiping out every enemy in single turn as 3 conlet is satisfying but the moment anything go wrong you need to reload game, you probably have to reload if burrower sneeze at you at 20lv, and surviving getting based by all 8 tchort tentacles 3 turns in row is simple funnier.
Now I consider running tincan psychosis pure psi build with hemopsychosis, last stand regenerative vest, could be fun if I survive long enough to make build tick probably around 14lv

If you stick around and picked key allies, SGS is basically the strongest in the south by far. The Grim Jetters, what's left of the Eels, Gorsky, and Camp Hathor.
The real trouble would be finding people loyal enough to not run off with all the good shit in the places you've discovered.
Almost all my characters are self-interested and don't care about SGS at all, seeking to kill Tanner for the love of the game or in the case of my super psionic megamind character eat his brain like Tchort wanted to.

though honestly with the mod I've been enjoying the riot shields protection even on 3 Con. But in saying that I like when putting in 3/4 defensive feats actually gives me reliable defenses.
Before that though I've tried muliply 3con and 5 Con builds that worked out Okay at tanking. But I went the other meme route of cracked gear when testing out shield builds and max tailoring/ballistics for tacvests.
Spear tanking is the most reliable but stupid thing available though

I have always had the same thoughts. SGS, provided the Protectorate are dealt with, is easily the strongest group of the south. And the Free Drones are unorganized retards that didn't even know they were being run by a spy the entire time. I wish you could gas them anyways even without going Protectorate.
Main problem would be manpower, and SGS could easily get loads of zoners and other vagrants to sign up to be cannon fodder at the promise of admission to the station, just like how the Romans did it with Auxillaries and the like.
Then you have the councillor problem. I always kill Gorsky at the end of his questline because he's fucking useless. His in-game stats being what they are is still comedic to me, the guy can't do shit without the player and does nothing but talk about how he used to lord over a pile of shit in Core City, and he couldn't even hold on to that. Gorsky is seriously one of my most hated NPCs in any game.
Old Man Jonas wouldn't co-sign any expansion, I imagine. He'd have to go. He's too old and seen too much shit to bother fucking around with matters he'd likely see as not SGS' problem.
Vera is a massive United Stations shill, but ironically I think she'd be cool with taking shit over. More trade, more power, more territory, more security. That was her whole reason for wanting to go Protectorate.
Ezra is a bit of a wildcard. I could see him either being cool with all of this, or trying to be top dog himself. We don't know enough about him, and he's slightly de-railed. For all I know he might be content in his duties.

Well I'll be damned, this is my kind of jam.
First of all, I gotta say, that what is known concretely is the ending cards/slides and in those the fate of SGS (and you) is stated quite clearly, depending on your choices (I'll list the major routes, obviously various quests change the ending, but the major picture is listed below)
>SGS leans more into Vera's ideas and integrates into United Stations/Protectorate ASAP, promting people against it to leave. (Gorsky publicly declares YOU as his enemy)
>SGS leans more towards Gorsky's vision, opposing the Protectorate more openly, creating political tension but not outright military hostility (yet), prompting Vera and other unionists to leave (Gorsky publicly declares you as his ally)
>SGS continues Tanner's policy of cooperation, but strict neutrality, fostering strengthening ties with Hathor and Junkyard instead (essentially building their own "neutral" power bloc), if I remember correctly this lets you stay on okay terms with both Gorsky and Vera (and by proxy, their "followers" within SGS)
>SGS opts to integrate into United Stations, but from with a position of strength/much better terms which equals more autonomy and influence, with the player character eventually rising to the highest administrative position in the south (I think the title was either something akin to Senator, minister or grand ambassador etc.), Gorsky still publicly declares you as his enemy, even if you helped his ascent in Core City.
When we ask ourselves what is the best option for south Underrail or more specifically SGS, it depends on what we wish to maximize. If it's stability, integration is easily the logical choice for it. But if the goal is sovereignty or what I prefer, potential. Then Tanner's policy is the way to go, ESPECIALLY if you've allied with the Eels.

Killing the Grim Jetters esentially secures logistics around the waterways fully, allowing the Eels (your allies) to exert absolute control over trade traffic, whilst boosting your personal/diplomatic standing with them. While the savages are limited by not being able to leave or exert control over Lemuria's southern bay; killing them along with the pirates essentially leave the ENTIRETY of the region up for grabs in terms of scavenging. If you clear the mutie refuge then even more so (for the time being), though I think that is unnecessary, they are not hostile and can be reasoned with.
>Killing Balor/clearing Iron Head camps
While this doesn't make them disappear, it weakens their influence to a noticeable degree. Essentially the gangs (Iron Heads, Lunatics and Lurkers) are the most persistant hurdle in the south; scattered, but dangerous. Weakening them any way possible allows SGS to make more moves, killing Balor (albeit, boosted with Protectorate supplies) secures Rail Crossing from disbanding and keeps Foundry's position stable.

I think this is somewhat self explanatory. While the Drones are a counter weight to the protectorate in their own right, they are still a lose cannon, a destabilising rot, which if allowed to spread will be nigh impossible to clear out. Deal with them now; knock another threat to the south off the board whilst procuring (diplomatic) favor with the protectorate

I could go on about more of these details, but I think they are fairly obvious, so instead I'll dedicate this final(?) post to assets, essentially things which this SGS led power bloc consisting of SGS (as the Senior partner), Black Eels (Junkyard/the Rig, who provide the muscle) and Camp Hathor (Junior partner) should focus on securing or exploiting.

This is a given, extra energy is always good, but getting IRIS "on your side", so to speak would potentially allow SGS to even take over Core City in terms of importance. Why? Because IRIS was originally linked to every single RAF (Robot Assembly Facility) in south Underrail. Even if you can't reconnect her to those facilities again, APS already is autonomously capable of churning out hapless amounts of Biocorp droids (sentry bots, plasma walkers, plasma turrets, industrial bots). Not to mention IRIS, even as her earlier version would most certainly be a fount of knowledge in terms of... Well... Everything, atleast in the south. In short, controlling her would be like controlling the keys to the kingdom (or what's left of it anyway).

Assuming the factions are FULLY dealt with, the only thing to worry about this place is the wild life. Obsticle to be sure, but nothing that can't be overcome with proper planning and patience. As for the rewards? The pirate bay, now depopulated is the obvious first target, a sturdy base and foothold in the area that not only has psi monolith for study, but a fucking destroyer in the center. Sure, it's engine is broken, but I would argue that even that is fixable/replaceable long term. With the resources to be claimed. The Aegis expedition was most notably after the ACORN and that was their mistake because the region is rich with not only tech, but industry. LEMCO for example for the most part seems to be salvageable and besides AS-0, most of the underwater stations seem untouched and undiscovered.

When you ally the black Eels and take down the Scrappers, after the battle the changes to the Scrappers base into Depot A -cell are absolutely minimal; if I were you, I would expand on that and not leave it as much of a stump as it is now. Considering SGS is supposed to have their own "Embassy" in Junkyard post battle. Maybe add a new merchant there etc etc. I see some light potential there which would only require you to augment existing shit instead of creating new shit completely out of the blue.

This would absolutely tear apart strongmen, crabs, and handmaidens but Nagas have such absurd MR and threshold even if you start with a heavy punch to get their resistance down you'll need to crit a full combo to get it down more. Even with drugs to get over 20 STR, I couldn't do shit without an opening heavy punch. Maybe if I specced into it but I'm already two levels away from 30.
As it is, expose weakness is more reliable against Nagas, but this ensures the whole dance around into EW cools down is a thing of the past in general

My take on the councilors and probability of success:
Ezra would immediately cave for a deep caverns expedition. Especially if you remind him that biocorp technocrats have fat prices on their heads. He’d fall in line.

The only true remaining threats are protectorate and oligarchs. Protectorate can be placated by vera and promising them good relations post coup. Oligarchs get pressure put on them by basically the entire economy being sgs run. Hathor, foundry and rig sonars are mine. No way they can continue for long. Either economically rape them into submission or simply just do a decapitation strike with resources acquired from the half dozen facilities and gorsky riling up the drop zone (ingame events have them already mad pissed)
The only real credible threat is the protectorate smelling blood in the water after they sense instability but desu they are essentially entirely cut off once core city is done.
Vera can get a nice office in Apogee and tell the protectorate we will be independent but have a good friendship. Once they stop getting shipments from core and hathor they will surrender.

Most of this redundant. While SGS is ruled by a council de jure, I'd argue that de facto the executive power lied quite solely on Tanner's hands. In essence if Tanner suggested something, nobody had neither the balls nor the backing to go against his judgement, nor did they need to given that Tanner is one of them AyyLmaos with precog so his decisions tend to always be correct.
Also as a reminder; Old Jonas and Ezra, (though present in meetings) aren't councilors per se, more like advisors TO the council. The council only consisted of Tanner (executive power), Vera (representing the civillian matters) and Gorsky (representing the security/military matters). By the time Tanner flees, Gorsky establishes the Silver Hand and you become a councilor through emergency appointment first (mandataed by Vera and supported by Jonas and Ezra) and later through elections (as the ending cards say) you pretty much just take over Tanner in terms of influence;

You don't need any direct espionage action against the foundry and the only even somewhat viable military strategy them against would be a prolonged siege (starving and choking them into submission), nor do you want thug like Dan in charge. I would say "taking over" the foundry in the first place is sort of meaningless. Their isolationist/absolutely neutrality stance works well in your favor if you know how to leverage it. They cooperate and more importantly TRADE with everybody, but have no expansion plans or other ambitions meaning their MO is predictable and keeping the status quo is preferable.
However, should you wish to attempt a takeover, the method is actually quite simple and straight forward, use economic coercion; offer them investments and better (but more exclusive) trade deals to undercut the Protectorate and Core City, then leverage that into political influence (like opening a SGS embassy, offering joint planning against the Iron Heads, bribing the local officials etc.). The success of this shouldn't be too overwhelming due to you having an edge in intelligence (local fun pyramid cell), just a matter of time and patience. Do everything correctly and Foundry will stay neutral on paper, but in practice has fallen into SGS's sphere of influence which secures probably the most important hub of industy in the south while denying competitors or at the very least resetting the terms for the flow of resources from the foundry.

Exactly. IRIS alone, combined with Arke power station provides a strong power source, a massive knowledge back, mass production capacity beyond anything in the south (with the exception of Core City) and administrative potential translating into even more industry (access to RAF facilities).
While most of Lemuria(n facilities) are thrashed so mostly good for scavenging. As I said earlier, the two key things of importance are LEMCO, which seems to be intact, just inhabited by a spider colony. And the underwater facilities. When you talk with Tod in AS-0 he says to you (while his Dad's persona is active) that one of the domes of AS-0 was fully dedicated to industry capable of producing anything and everything from simple screws to droids. And that one dome was fully dedicated to advanced hydroponics for food production. Now while AS-0 is probably the biggest and most important of the underwater facilities, it's safe to assume other like have similar capabilities given how NFT designed them to be able to operate independant from each other.
All in all, securing the former pirate territory of Port Ceto and Port Crag and then LEMCO would allow for a permanent expedition force which can scavenge the facilities and eventually try and find the rest of the undergroudn facilities which are HOPEFULLY intact. Resettling other parts seems a bit pointless and needlessly risky. Strip what you can from NFT and then let the wildlife claim it. Boom, now you have another (albeit more hostile) hunting ground similar to Camp Hathor, providing the things you mention. And once Destroyer Ceto is fixed? However that is not to say that the protagonist can't foster good relations, which would be the key here, I think.

Rail Crossing is in desperate need for any sort of protection. Camp Hathor is already reliant on SGS. The Eels too after you take out their sonar.
Grim is open to negotiations with Aegis, who he is almost always outright hostile to. You could definitely talk him into becoming a seat on the new Biocorp council. Archibald doesn't give a shit about power by the time you get to him. His son's dead and he has nothing to live for. Ensure Coretech's destruction and I think he'd be a compliant and inactive member. Silas and Edgar can be strong-armed easily by that point. It's really more of a formality.
Archibald would control Core City, blocking passage from the North. Green would control the waterways. And you with SGS would control access to one of the last and greatest facilities in Deep Caverns.

True, but it's slightly more nuanced than that I think. Even IF (which is not gonna happen) everything went as you said and this kind of political structure is established, creating a "maximally" united south, I'm willing to bet, the North as a whole is still stronger. And would not allow another entity to inherit the "Biocorp" mantle, so to speak. Even if it's just a name, it would be an open challenge against the Protectorate (who btw control MOST of intact Biocorp assets, in the north).

Ultimately, the strategy/vision I mentioned above would provide the srongest SGS led south in the long term (with Core City being a buffer zone, for the time being). That at best can fortify, and stockpile to the point where the Protectorate deems war too costly, time consuming and risky. And at worst can integrate into the United Stations whilst dictating the terms of autonomy.
The Drones and Grim Jetters (along with the gangs)? They have no future. They are unstable and dagerous loose ends that need to be elimated and their assets supplanted.

That is a good observation, but I do have to play a bit of a devil's advocate by saying that the north had both Hexagon and Dis, and considering the vast difference between the North and South you could argue that what constitutes as a "gang" in the north is something far more serious in terms of quality and quantity than something like the Iron Heads, Lurkers or Lunatics. If I had to guess, the Eels would be closest to that what the protectorate started as, and even then they would be couple steps below.
Secondly the Protectorate is became what it is now over the course of 20 or so years and last but not least, they are led by Gen. Melek. Now while it is true that we don't know much about him in detail, what we DO know and can assume is that he is highly, HIGHLY competent. And between you and me, I think there is a good chance that he is third surviving Godman along with Tanner and Six. And IF that is the case, you (and by proxy the south) in terms of leadership is straight up outclassed.

This isn't a bad feat by any means, but you really have to go all or nothing against super bots. Then again, it also gives you the means of damaging them in the first place. Feels much better than Expose Weakness though, even if its max resistance decrease is 30% (45% with specc) as far as bare fists go to its 50%.

Tanner is one, Six is one, two are unknown; with one of them being most likely fed to Tchort and the creature implies when you face it in the crucible.

It occurred to me this would've been vastly easier if I used implosion and TKP after lowering their mechanical threshold as much as I could, but I was having too much fun and wanting to do this the unga bungiest way.
Anyway, I am the ultimate being with no rival potential rival save one impossible existence.
Fax and Nex are equals in my mind. This build's psychokinesis (force emission and TKP) surpasses an omni psion skills maxxed with 19 will's psychokinesis. I've compared the damage myself. Still kind of lame the Force Field is weaker, but that's more for rerouting and isolating groups of enemies anyway.

They are psionic in the way Dude is. I don't think they can use it like humans and Faceless can. Their abilities and methods were always based on technology, which is how they annihilated the Leviathans. But personally I'd lean more towards the fact that both Tanner and Six are so psionically proficient combined with their tech that they can "conceal" their psionic powers and/or use them to such a fine detail that we can't separate where tech begins and psionic potential begins.
As to your point about humans becoming Psionic purely due to monolith influence? Pasquale at the begining of the game, when prompted quotes some Psionic research which suggests that the Psionic activity in humans is in fact engineered, citing the fact how nuanced its manifestation is in humans (he notes for example how babies or children don't psionically just cause chaos en mass, due to innate suppression, even if potential is there). It's most certain that it's the handiwork of the Godmen, but is it deliberate or accident? Impossible to say, I lean towards the former.

Eh, I mean it depends what counts as "interested", if we are a bit nit picky. I think it's something akin or adjacent to observation posts in Stellaris; you observe, study and indirectly guide humanity to gain data and insights in order to advance your own mission (finding a cure for your blight). If a species capable of traversing the stars, psionic mastery and hyper energy (it's implied they have workable dyson spheres) saw humanity as a 0 factor they would have just moved on.
However I am willing to consede that the Godmen on earth and what tech is left behind or active in Underrail is nothing but bite sized remnants of their potential maximum. Kinda like 40k's Imperium is a shadow of the Golden Age of Tech for humanity. Which means there are rules and limits to what Tanner or Six can do.

The bosses need to be structured around fun arenas and special encounters. Abomination is a really good example of how memorable and fun it is. Balor is another cool one but less so.
You know what would have been cool? The arena can be entered in with randomly generated enemies and fights, the arena can change: obstacles, hazzards, lighting. Basically what the gauntlet should have been. With unique and rare enemies/loot drawn from a pool.
What I'm trying to say is that crpgs can have a lot more than just tough enemy. I want enemies that feel on par with us as well as unique arenas, locations and mechanics. Its why I consistently say that stygs skill is so sharp by the later patches you look at something like utility tower creativity and real time boss compared to early game its night and day and gets my cock stiff for infusion.

Yeah, imagine there being environmental changes as well tho: fire pits, acid barrels, zap floors, some kind of push/pull forced movement stuff. You could even have like a wave survival thing, a free for all, team battles.

I need advice as psi-noob.

I was going to extend some benefit of the doubt to him being a military officer, but military officers aren't overtly threatening to their own soldiers. It's some leadership thing where treating your own men as the enemy will make them treat you as one, which he basically is to you if decide not to be a bitch. The Protectorate was run by gangs, so his attitude makes sense, but this veneer of professionalism is a complete falsehood. His men are all former Protectorate soldiers. No reason for them to be at odds or different.
I'd say his greatest failing is treating the expedition as a military operation instead of a job because, let's be honest, they fucking suck at it. Aegis can't win against a bunch of guys running up to them with no armor when they're armed with guns. At most, they've gone up against the biggest fucking jobbers that are the Free Drones, whose top hitters can get taken out by two auto turrets. I'm fairly certain there's not a single tride and true southern faction they could challenge.
I don't like agreeing with the Ferryman because the old man screams contrarian retard, but he's not wrong about Aegis being way in over their heads.

Well put, and I might add having all that said, the map still leaves this eerie feeling of just how much potentially of the Underrail infrastructure has been lost and just how potentially vast the entire hyper structure it is. What we see of the south in game is but a piece of the entire south on many levels, which is just one fourth of a underground habitat made by only one of the T6 group (Old Biocorp), while getting a taste of what NFT was up to (Lemuria in expedition).
I shudder to think what megacorps like Nucleus or Trancendix were up to or are/were capable of.

Biocorp limited edition floating tanks are about 15-20k charons so combining that with a few other lore bits and pieces (income stated in expedition, food prices, payment for jobs, acorn price ect.) I would say that 60k would let you rub shoulders with the oligarchs and have a private arena booth. It would be hard to piss that away. Yes.
They're one of the only enemy types that uses chemical pistols. The doctor heals and applies adrenaline even if they've already taken it, which gets rid of fatigue. Gaunts act like crawlers and even wait for you to come out of cover instead of going at you in combat. Centaurs are like tincans but can go from bursting to sledge at a moments notice. Plus, it's fucking satisfying giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Anyway, RP blogposting aside, Corkscrew Impact is a great alternative to expose weakness. In some ways, it's stronger because you can apply it to any enemy as long as you get a combo or heavy punch off. For the truly tanky enemies (and I mean almost exclusively nagas), you can't hit like a bitch and still get it off. You have to deal real damage to earn that bypass through super steel plates. It feels like you really are wearing away at your enemies through sheer force, exactly what I wanted to begin with. It only seemed off at first because my first test run with it was the fucking 4 naga fight before I even had expert unarmed. Great job. The only error is an actual technical one with being unable to load a save while crashing wave is active on your character.

Tanking's real issue is you have very few protections in actuality. Sure, super steel and tichrome give you mech, heat, and energy, but an EMP will still take out a huge chunk of your health because lol charged items. You could carry around different suits of armor depending on the occasion and as few gadgets as possible. I always carry CAU around even on dodgy characters because it's absurdly good against bio and acid. But those two damage types are rare. Tesla armor gives some good electric defense, but has the durability of a fucking pancake and most enemies will also deal mechanical damage. Even spiders can fuck you up like that. Only asshole freezer psions deal enough cold damage to make walking around in bison's worth it.
I've played tank characters before. When it works, it works. But oh dear fucking lord does it not when it doesn't. Goddamn fucking acid arm and tentacle skaeders. Asshole goddamn fucking crossbow shock bolts. Coil spiders. Psions. Azuridae.

Unique charge makes you immune to stunning effects for 2 turns and doubles electro-aura damage as well as the electrokinesis buff; gets reapllied if hit again with (electric) damage. Electro-aura also makes you immune to entaglements when active

I have also been considering the emp problem (biggest offender for me is jet skis), and tanking is often on my mind. Carrying around armor sets is incredibly irritating, but smaller specialized pieces work great - gas masks for example. To this end, I have considered attachments specifically for attenuating dangerous effects. EMPs would be partially mitigated by grounding spikes attached to the boots, but you wouldn't want them normally since they reduce movement capability. A jet ski would have a grounding trailer.

Tincan melee is not fun. It is doable, but not fun. The best way to go if you really want armor is nimble can, either run a spear or hammer and take armor sloping, nimble, and body weight training. Alternatively, I've also made a hammer with a vest before. Actually worked surprisingly well, though I play on Expert, not DOMINATING. IIRC, I used regen vest, super steel sheet (even though I am pretty sure laminated panel is probably better), anti-rifle panel, strider boots, and a bulletproof baclava. I balanced my armor penalty out *just* right to be just over 50% for juggernaut. Took 12 CON and bodybuilding. Was mighty hardcore and beefy. I don't think I ever struggled.

Snipers do too much overkill for my tastes. And with spearhead's nerf, I just don't see much of a point when crossbow exists and are even more absurd with less overkill yet still capable of one-shotting most troublesome enemies. AR is just boring. I remember having to constantly repair my SMGs from the sheer amount of bursts it took to kill most things. Miniguns and LMGs are overkill too but at least you can be guranteed to kill everything in the line you're shooting at. Shotguns are great though for doing the same without wasting as much ammo or making you carry so much.
The difference between crossbows and firearms is the crossbow is good for practically anything when you get it up and have the resources. Shock bolt crits make the AoE damage crit too, bringing down crowds just like a burst weapon would.

Because Tchort is an incomplete/inperfect being themselves. While Tchortism as a dogma is propagandistic bullshit, there is one grain of truth in there, which is how the creature operates on a biologic level. Entering into states of recreating it's entire genetic make-up to survive. This process takes time. And when Tchort snacked on the fourth Godman, it may have allowed the creature to gain some initial knowledge sure, but only partially. For the danger would surely manifest IF two condition are met:

Tryanny all the way and could forgo picking full auto with it as well if you don't like spend too much shells. Despot ammo count is the biggest killer and -accuracy also hurts if you want to do short barrel. Extended tube is practically mandatory for it unless you use 2 shotties
I usually preferred the short barrel tryanny with gun-nut specs to bring up to despot damage.

Yeah, not good on it's own. But it stacks with other sources. Like, If you're using morphine it combines the 50% and 15% into 65%. Effectively meaning that Conditioning Morphine takes 30% less damage than Morphine alone since stacking percentages have an exponential effect. That is that 90% DR takes +100% more damage than 95% DR. That you need twice as many hits to take the 95% DR target down.
But if you don't plan to stack these things Conditioning is weak on it's own.

The map data I needed to reference is hidden away inside external files like the fruit inside a coconut. Had to build a new tool to crack them open. Didn't really learn how/why it works because I'm not interested in software development, but one neat thing is that it uses the game's own classes to deserialize the map info.

I find it the best all around belt if you didn't get Otto for the seperent slaying belt. 15% bio resist is nice to have for the marsh besides it having the better unique perk thats not reaching crafting reqs
electroinves is the best for just crafting reqs and naga/plasma cannon tanking... Though you need to build specific for tanking your own bass cannon

The Fusion Cannon can't be resisted by normal means. It deals far too much energy and electric damage. You'd still be dealing hundreds of damage to yourself if you went with galvanic vest, galvanic foam padding for boots and helmet, and stacked aegis on top of morphine.
It's easily the most powerful Fusion Cannon ever made, and the thing is fucking portable at that.

With full specced high-technicalities, I do 90% multiplicative extra damage. With full specc'd Heavy Metal, I have little over 70% bonus damage added.
