I've been completely out of the loop on what happened to PM for the last couple of years. More or less gave up on them with the launch of Limbus, and the old mongolian basketweaving forum alongside it. Has anything good happened in the last three years, or is Director just coasting on whales? Got a notification from PM's youtube channel out of the blue and remembered that this was once a part of my life.
Also what's with the new captchas and having to wait five minutes? Are the bots that rampant?

Nobody uses /vst/ for PM threads, even /v/ threads are dead outside of update day. Unironically, /vg/ is the home of PM now.
The pph also died out in general and the remaining posters on the big board are either severly mentally ill or underaged third worlders.
Limbus gameplay isn't that good, the story is servicable and if you like manhwa slop you'd probably like it. Also don't expect the director to use the books for anything except surface level details. Most of old posters left and the ones who remain defend PM with their life.
If you ask me, just turn back and forget about 4chan and PM.

Says enough by itself. /vg/ was so vehemently opposed, the ones that would migrate willingly would have to have something wrong with them.
>don't expect the director to use the books
Honestly after how LoR ended I can't be that surprised. Obviously the schitzophreniac writings and theories that we came up with couldn't possibly be answered, but to take basically nothing along from the texts, that was (and honestly is) hard to swallow. I enjoyed Demian, and Camus and Kafka has become favoured authors of mine, so I can give Director some credit at least, but If I'd choose, looking back, I wouldn't have read all of Zohar and similar texts (I defended my right to call myself "mystic" back in the day, however gay it was to do so in hindsight). All of that is just a brain poison giving supposed context where none was ever intended.
It's hard to process that it all surmounted to nothing, but I've suspected as much for the last couple of years. It's why I never returned I suppose. Looking at the boards, /v/ has somehow become even gayer, if that was possible, while /vst/ has mellowed out and become a slow but pleasant board. I'll probably not look at this place again once this 404's, but at least PM kept me entertained every update day for a couple of years. The flight from /v/ was very funny, and in my mind /v/ has two slow spin-off boards because a jannie on /v/ got mad and complained to hiromoot about a game he didn't know the genre of.

I was being a bit rash with saying "don't expect the director to use the books." He does use bits and pieces of the books but its only related to the message he's trying to prop up.
For example, Canto 5 is a canto based moby dick. Cantos are divided into 3 parts, but essentially part 1-3 barely have anything related to moby dick beyond the whale, sea and references to Ahab. But I will add that you can describe Canto 5 as an entire canto localized entirely within a mirror dungeon (everything ouside of the mirror dungeon was supposed to be set up for how Dante is a good manager while Ahab uses and abuses her crewmates, but it falls flat and feels more like filler.)
The entire point of canto 5 was basically a retread of "revenge is bad for you" with the addition of found family.
If you haven't read moby dick, this is a perfectly fine story with pacing issues. But it genuienly misses the whole religious angle where Moby dick represents God, and how Ahab and Ishmael think and interact with God.
I'm mostly trying to be charitable because I've been utterly mindbroken by limbus' gameplay and how awful it is, and also because I talk to a buddy who says that hte story is real good.
Also don't kick yourself for reading the Zohar, at least you've learned how people in the past viewed the world.

Anons used to recommend that you should pirate LC. The gameplay is very "unique" and not everybody likes it. If you get invested into the story don't 100% the game and never look into anything else made by PM

Do you have anything to say? If you're on /vst/ then you probably aren't a fan of LCB so you aren't discussing that. There is only so much wiggle-room and freedom of expression in a linear card battler and a pseudo-RTS, so build-discussion or alternate ways of play can only get you so far.
