Tynan doesn't believe in sales. You can easily pirate the game (it doesn't even have DRM).

The basegame is worth the relatively high price, it would be a steal if it was reduced like a typical steam sale.
The DLC is too expensive if you're buying it all up front, instead of over many years. The gravship really revolutionizes the game, and ideology opens up a lot of doors, but you don't really need anything more than the base game to experience the game unless you find something specific you want to do, or a mod that doesn't work without a specific DLC.

I'm just pissed they locked biological children behind DLC, that should be in the base game with the crazy stuff like cloning behind the paywall.

because like factorio the dev knows you will buy it full price.

Wube think they made a game that is well worth the retail price and sales would be disrespectful of early buyers
They also think that if there's not enough content to justify buying it that's a (you) problem
Tynan adopted this policy too, although rimworld does go on sales occasionally
>>
i bought it for $0 dollars and refunded it after 30 minutes. it fucking sucks

The developer (Tynan) specifically take a stance against sales.

And I can't say I disagree, they make you believe games are cheaper than they are and encourage compulsive buy for bad game that only look good on first impression.

I'm making a point myself to boughted game at their full price after (more) carefully checking if they deserve my money.

desu I spend a lot in Indy game just for being a niche I wish were more common.
before you call me a shill for that pic, EARLY Rimworld was updating at incredible pace and we didn't expect he'd manage something like having a whole planet where you can migrate.

As this guy say, the game is more than worth this price.

And while the DLC are sometime honestly pricy, some of them are really worth it.

>Ideology
Radically change how your colonist interact and let you do stuff like a techno-cannibalist-religious colony.

>Odissey
Didn't try it myself yet but I know I will, I can't imagine how it doesn't improve the game, even for the weather.

I won't go into the other DLC but they are all creative.

>I'm just pissed they locked biological children behind DLC
Many people argued AGAINST them when the game was in its infancy, and they are not that interesting since they are inferior/chaotic colonist with less traits.

The biotech of the DLC is far more interesting. I just wish they didn't add that stupid techno-vampire thing

The DLC is overpriced so you should pirate it, but the base game is worth full price. Or just pirate all of it. I'm not the internet police.
>>
>>2380630
Only reason I broke my 20€ rule was because Factorio devs are not mutts. No fucking way am I breaking that rule for Rimworld, especially with the egregious DLC prices. I WILL just pirate it all if I am ever desperate enough.

>>2380338
Only those who bought the book get a discount.

You'll never guess who talked about this.
