you start the game in a bar and there's a really cool first person scene where the aliens suck you, your gf and your grandad up into their ship.
the gfx were really impressive when it first came out, still got my install disks.
interestingly it also had a portal system before portal came out. you couldn't make them yourself but it was cool to see and at some points change size.
anyway no more spoilers.

i'd highly recommend that game. sadly you won't find it on steam or gog but the original install disks still work on win 11. i replay it every few years or so and it's worked on all OS as time has gone on.
probably a torrent knocking about somewhere so do yourselves a favour and give it a go.
it's even got bits with art bell broadcasts which are cool, they actually got him on the project.

quite right. as i typed previously it's worked on every iteration of windows i've had since 2006 so it should be piss-easy.
the engine is very solid and a testament to quality we severely lack these days.

however i don't know if human head studios still exist (they made it), 3drealms contracted it out to them and i'm p. sure 3drealms are still about? and 2k games (publisher)? not sure, bit out of the loop these days.
