Looks like Honeywell split the relevant section of itself off into a company called Solstice. I'm not an expert on thermal paste, but since I don't see anything specific to the 7958, and everything I find is about the 7900 like you say, my guess is that everything in the 7900 "series" is probably going to be the same material in different formats, and the 5 and 8 digits specify things like the containers they come in. Like what size can you want it in or maybe you want it in syringe cartridges that you can just plug into a machine, etc. Those sorts of things can matter a lot if you're automating an assembly line, but if you're doing something as an individual, and you just want the thermal specs, those numbers may not matter.

As for the "5" it means probably "better version", as the 7900 has 8.0 w/mK while the 7950 has 8.5 instead. The formats are indicated by what comes after the number, and from what i've gathered it seems like the -SP versions are printable pastes while the ones that don't have anything are pads. As for the "8" i haven't been able to find any shred of info apart the fact that, according to moddiy.com (the website I mentioned in the OP), it has a lower (-0.005°C·cm2/W) thermal resistivity, but nothing else. Still, you're probably right, they don't really matter to someone like me.
