I will never get over how games kind of stopped getting better.
These games clearly needed more but they were so much fun.
I think devs might only be able to make good things when they have limitations.

I remember the spotlight on helicopter sim. Idk if it was actually running lighting like in modern games or if it was a more cleaver solution but I played with it like a kid with a flashlight.
I imagine I would just do two layers, one bright texture one dark and then calculate what to draw as what. Save some computing power.
