Oh I also want to add this motif also shows up in the gnostic mythos. But Prometheus is Sophia. And the mother of Christ instead of the father. Prometheus is a god of wisdom as is Sophia. Instead of stealing fire from the gods to give humanity a soul, Sophia places the divine sparks in humanity behind the back of the demiurge. I think there's parallels there.
