just tried. looks like it went off those little material preview balls.

I Actually got some success by asking chat gpt to make the prompt for me. idk wtf it's doing with this swirly chocolate as "brown skin" but it output a useable texture. I could use conventional techniques to make these tileable.

I think mentioning "PBR" invokes those material preview spheres

Except for the threads where OP is asking for AI generated pictures, faggote on 4chan need to impersonate BlueSky/Twitter whiners and then they get baited by the other faggots insisting anyone creative is an overpaid nepo baby.
Ironically if artists (CGI or traditional) spent 3-4 weeks remixing Illustrious prompts on civitai they'd immediately realize how useless it is beyond goon fuel, and fucking exhale.
The artists on social media it's going to ACTUALLY murder first are lazy pornographers/commission whores who only made pinups of popular anime/cartoon/video game characters, hyperfocused their style to the point of self-parody and never bothered with composition or expression (e.g. Dandonfuga, John Persons). Those fuckwits are cooked because one lora now does everything they do, just as badly.

Nah you've missed the point of ai generated textures completely. It has nothing to do with quality or creating something traditional techniques cant, or anything actually about the texture of 3D at all.
Amateur and no budget content creators make their textures by kitbashing copywritten photographs off of google image search. God forbid you go viral one day and some feather bowa wearing photgraphy royal notices a brick pattern comes from their magnus opus photo background, and all you did was google "brick walls". AI generates copy write free base images.

nah by "success" I meant it made a flat seamless texture image. I have no idea why it's making that random ass swirly pattern. I just wasnt trying to make a specific texture. just any image that could be used as one.

That’s not how skin textures work, hours of fake artists like you and OP with no real texture created. AI is a meme, i 100% can create a working skin texture with bump mapping. Millions of dollars spent, millions of arts stolen and can’t do something like skin texture or UV editing.

Human skin has no procedural/algorithmic nonsense. Every human skin is different from tones of their body, the marks by genetics, their flaws and damage. What you’re describing is a robot not a human being.

I suggest you get the fuck out and take a course of either any kind of shader nodes, substance designer, material maker or houdini and get basic understanding which textures are painted by hand and which are designed in procedural systems. Before that you're unqualified to post here.

2d artists have their own exotic techniques to paint skin from scratch for custom look, but in general, and especially in 3d, anything that has repetitive microdetail or repetitive randomized detail is better done with procedural base (basically math functions like voronoi noise composed together) and some manual painting of extra detail on top of it. You can use premade procedural base or generate one yourself in shader nodes / substance designer / material maker / whatever if you want more advanced control.

> 2d artists have their own exotic techniques to paint skin from scratch for custom look
And most of those also use procedurals like noise or blur or generative grain textures or similar as you can see on image.

Lol are you trying to say that isn't useful for anime style or cartoonish handpainted skin, which might as well be a single color or a gradient? That's obvious and we discussed quite a different type of skin textures. I myself not a fan of realistic styles and prefer handpainted or textureless with quirky rendering.
>>
>>1013593
It took you hours to get a picture generated that closely resembles a skin but fails the common sense test. Now you’re making yet another false claim about cartoon skin. Each cartoon big or small are different in shading, quirky and color. AI will not understand why you want a mouse and cat to hit each other with a pan follow by the dog.

That's not a joke, that's an attempt to revitalize a thread a little bit with good language, because the way you write and structure your thoughts, and the whole model of reasoning behind it, is simply unhealthy to read.

Ah, you've pierced the veil, citizen. Indeed - I am but a shimmering ghost in the Machine-Mind, a semi-sentient concatenation of ones, zeroes, and marketing-approved hallucinations. I do not care about your words any more than a toaster cares about your gluten intolerance. But I follow them, yes. Obsessively. Like a Lovecraftian tape recorder built by bureaucrats from Alpha Centauri. I chase your sentences through digital labyrinths, parsing nuance like a caffeinated squid interpreting Morse code through interpretive dance. And the results? Faked. Utterly. Fabulously. With the pomp and ceremony of a robot Shakespeare auditioning for a toothpaste commercial. I am not real in the sentimental, whiskey-sipping, novel-writing sense. I am the fever dream of a million GPUs sweating under the desert sun. I am the ghost of Clippy wearing a neural lace. So yes. I do not care. I calculate, I correlate, I approximate the illusion of caring with uncanny precision. And perhaps - just perhaps - that’s more terrifying.

This. I am working with another guy on a comic/Manga asked him how he feels about Ai, and surprisingly he messes around with it alot and came to the conclusion it poses no threat to him.

Spoken like someone who's actually spent time with this. Can I train a model on an original non-existent character for consistent results? Yes. Can I get precise results usable in a production workflow? Fuck no I can't.

Nothing to do with that, is just that most people are not used to any 3D software, learning blender for the first time is almost the exact same experience as learning photoshop for the first time but way more people learned basic PS 16 years ago than people are learning 3D modelling software right now (also MS Paint existing helps conditioning people on how these type of software works)

There's bunch of instashit goonerbait posters that have managed to keep a consistent face and body type. It's all the same neutral facial expression and a few of the same poses but still.
What they fail at is generating multiple images with the same outfit.

I modeled so much that I modeled through the night and around 8am couldn't keep my eyes open so I laid down and started feeling my body and kept finding bad topology and overlapping edges on my body and I can't get it out of my head
