I want a second opinion just to be safe. I'm commissioning someone to make me a blank 3d body base which I can use for various custom action figures of my own. I tried googling his sample just to be safe he isn't scamming me. I found stuff that looked ismilar but weren't exact matches. But I thought i'd share what he showed me here just to be safe to see if anyone can recognise the work.

Thats true, but i need one that would allow me to modify them and possibly sell them myself as various characters in the future. I'm open to suggestions for existing models or modellers who would be interested in making custom designs.

So I called them out on it and they send me a video of the model in blender. Still looks very similar to the link that was shared here earlier. Plus they want my email so they can send me files which I'm not sure I want to give them to be safe on my end.

Just using my eyes here. It looks like he's scamming. Those models look 1 to 1.
Now he's running damage control, hoping you'll be persuaded by showing documents you're not familiar with.
Do what you must to get your money back, and stop talking to him. Lest he rope you into his bullshit further.

also he removed the edges marked sharp and separated by connectivity for some reason lol
the model he's selling is objectively worse than the one you can just download for free

Well they said they were going to add more details and other things but I highly doubt its not going to be a scam again so we are just going to leave the paypal action open to get my money back, since they keep saying the model is original when its obviously not.

small update. I tried to make a claim on paypal to get my money back since you guys sharedt he evidence it was a stolen model. But it was unfortunatly denied. I think it will be more trouble than its worth to get it back. However I have some other more reliable people to work with in the future. The artist said they would make a new model for me in the meantime but I highly doubt it won't be another stolen model.

For now this would just be for personal use. But if I make an audience in the future i could market on places like Etsy or other sitest hat sell 3d printable models. If you have a galler yor something i'll happily check your work out.

yes but the differance is i would credit the people with the proper design work, i wouldn't try to pass it off as my own. Plus the thing is not every model out there can be used for commercial purposes, so some things would have to be designed from scratch with that purpose in mind.

Listen retard, if you are so new at this that you couldn't even recognize the Unreal Engine mannequin models and you actually paid for them, you never planned to do anything proper.
Take the L, use this as a teaching lesson and actually learn about 3D modeling before thinking about business ideas

>I have no 3d modeling skills

>i want to get paid for doing nothing
No one is going to share a pay out just because you have an idea. You need to actually produce something and contribute. You sound like a scammer worse than the dude you stupidly gave money to.
