They barely want the kid they have. He's only sixteen and they've basically stopped parenting him. With Yusaku's job, Yukiko's vanity, and how much the two of them love traveling, there is no mystery why they stopped with Shinichi. Manga have a lot of single children in them, but this is one family where it makes perfect sense given the parents' characterization.

They still come back to help him out, Hawaii just looks nicer. If they were never really interested in being parents, then they wouldn't even have one kid, since it's fairly obvious they're not the dumb kind to have an accident.
The family where it makes the most sense would be Mouri, on account of Eri walking out after 6-7 years of marriage.

They definitely wanted him and love him. But once they experienced what having a baby is like, it's not surprising they weren't interested in having more. They really aren't the type of people to fall in love with taking care of a loud, stupid, dependent little human 24/7. Luckily for them, contraception exists.

I don't see why not. Plastic surgery, as the name implies is basically just planting some plastic (actually silicone) implants to shape your face. So you can just have those implants removed and wa la you're back to normal

It also includes reshaping the skin to fit better over new face. Since his eyes were more open than in the photo, he definitely had some cut off on his eyelids and wouldn't be able to get back into old look, at least not without a longer procedure and additional surgeries. But that and healing period would take a long time, and no way he would have been working in restaurant a mere month later.

All the series kinda has this fucked up logic where the murders most of the times have a good justification, but still not good enough to take justice by your own hand. In most of them the policel/legal system/private detective still can do something, but they always go "Oh, no, the police couldn't help me"
>>

I rather like the ones where they think the justice system failed them (or it really did fail them), it's as far removed from mustache-twirling villain as it can get.
The ones where the story tries to sell idea that bullying at work is good for someone's growth, if only they didn't go crazy and murder their bully, is where the logic is really fucked up.

The vast majority of "surgeries" people do today aren't actual surgeries but injectables like botox/fillers which aren't permanent (though obviously they, especially botox, will leave long-lasting effects after prolonged usage).

When he's working at the restaurant on the last page, he's back to looking like his old unattractive self.
He had his grandma's broad, upturned nose and the surgeon turned it into the the typical narrow nose. If some of the cartilage was removed from the outer sides of his nostrils in the process, it wouldn't be easy to reverse.

Korn scans version sounds like they were suffering from brain injury while doing that chapter, but that bubble still matches another fan scanlation that did dialogues better. Still kind of weird he got flustered over putting himself in Conan's place since he was asked by Conan himself, maybe some nuance got lost.

See I think that flows way better.
He realized it sounds like he's telling Conan to go and be reckless before correcting that it's what he'd do because he knows that's probably a bad idea.
I actually checked our local translations too, in which he corrects from that to "I mean, I'd just stay put" trying to keep Conan from danger.

What was the context he even used "percolate" in? Did he mean:

or
2.To spread slowly or gradually.
Like wait for things to become lively or wait for events to gradually buildup?

I'm guessing that the killer wet the rim of the vase and made him stand on it. He was supposed to slip on it like how Eisuke slipped in the pool. He was able to tell them not to come in because the noose hadn't tightened yet and wouldn't until he fell off.
Seems like a bit of a stupid way to kill someone, though.

I think he comes up with a batch of ideas based on the same theme, in this case crimes that require either the victim or the suspect to be short, and then builds cases around the most workable ideas later.

I don't remember him being a simp. I do remember him being a comic relief with failed attempts to confess to Kazuha, and introduction of a completely unnecessary rival to her. The chapter where he finally confesses was a total pain in the ass.
