The MotW is the victory lap after solving the case, not really "solving the problem by punching". They need to analyze clues and testimonies.
Thing is, the problem will be more involved in the episodes for this season, closer to Heartcatch. How many eps in the last few years just have a tacked on MotW? Precure has a lot of comfy SoL episodes or episodes where the problem is something that can be solved just by Character A having a heart to heart talk with Character B, and that isn't what's going to happen in Meitantei, it'll have a very specific type of plot progression and apparently each general will have his own gimmick (ala Kira/ST) so there's still variation to come.

Purirun and Kokoro have a really great dynamic during her two parter intro and unlike the evil one Purirun actually shows regret and gets upset that she messed up their budding friendship right on screen because she didn't know not all candidates are excited to fight. It was great the animators continued to throw bones while the writers got obsessed with Meroron/Nana.
