Not necesarilly. It's obvious a manga needs to sell but many classic authors were clearly passionated about their jobs and clashed with their editors and even their readers to tell their stories

Inuyasha was Takahashi trying to make battle shounen but quickly giving up and going back to romcom hijinks.

Yeah, but some of her fans are annoying. Ranma fans within the last year or so have become especially toxic and unpleasant and now I don't enjoy seeing or interacting with them because they're just so constantly obnoxious, which is a shame because I actually like the series itself. I admit that has nothing to do with Rumiko herself though.
I find her "simplified" art style from the last couple decades pretty weird but it's not exactly worth complaining about.

Takahashi needed directors like Oshii (Urusei Yatsura) and Yamazaki (Maison Ikkoku) to make her work truly great. Those anime's really let her world "breathe" and come to life with fleshed out characters and the animator's improvisational riffs on her basic themes.

she never went back to romcom, rinne is just riding the coattails of death note but with her touch.
Just like Urusei Yatsura was riding the coattails of 70s scifi go nagai and doraemon, and ranma was riding the coattails of Bruce Lee and Jackie chan.

The ranma subreddit is rankane, facebook ranma fandom is millenials normie shit, and x is tiktok zoomers.
True ranma fans always seem to be either female ranma fags, ryogafags, shampoofags or even nabikifags.
Main character fags are tourist.

Love her
For me it's:
InuYasha > Maison Ikkoku > Ranma 1/2 = UY
I also enjoy Mermaid Saga and Mao
Was reading OPG but the scan is low quality and I'm used to HD
