How much ya'll wanna bet this CEO is that same American soldier "Anonymous" shooting M1 Carbine rifle shots at him, 20 years ago?

Seriously, though.
I don't know what is being said. Really, what the Heck are they referencing?
>>287363017
>Walks into his own Chairman's lounge.
>Nogi is already in there. Because he was invited. Like 35 other fighters. And their CEOs.
>"We're finally butting heads!"
Over what? What does "being Chairman" grant you?
>"Please go easy on me"
What actions are "hard?" To what result?
>"Joking!"
That was funny?
>"In all seriousness,"
So, the next bit of dialogue is meant to be serious and literal and straightforward. No metaphors, no assumptions, no guessing, make sure to read it as blunt and honest. Got it. Let's do this.
>"I know it's a little late now,"
Late? Compared to when?
>"But you've taken quite the bold risk, haven't you?"
You made an assumption... about what? What action is full of risk? Is this in reference to, like, first volume where the conditions of this tournament is Nogi loses a spot in "Kengan Association?" Haven't we seen that being a part of Kengan is neither private or elite? It's doesn't matter. At all. ZERO business is being shown. It's paid, moral fighters with lots of honor, apparently.
>"Youve thrown away all your assets just to stand on even ground with me."
What assets? "Thrown away?" He's bought, brought, and continues to fight with MORE allies and resources and assets than he was even introduced with! And "stand on even ground?" To see what? To fight over what?
>"I don't think so. All I have to do is win."
To gain what? What is "serious" about winning? Or losing, for that matter???
>"I'm totally gonna win, btw."
>"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!"
Wasn't this supposed to be serious business?
What the Hell are you both talking about?
What am I supposed to feel strong tension about?
There's no tension. There's no hype. None of this matters! Everything we've seen is both backstabbing from meegggggggggggaaaa evil people and toooooooooooottallllllllyyyyyyyyyy honest fighters who never misbehave... unless they have to... and that's okay? Dumb.

I just realized, but despite all the edits anons have made, none have really took the role of the crowd, right? and I don't mean an individual offhand panel, but explicitly showing a match with actual anon comments interspliced.

Obviously from the context he's a rising star that made it to the 3rd round of KAT, rahter than having an interesting way of fighting.
Surely you don't see new fighters of that level normally.
Except Ohma. And Muteba, but I think he somehow still falls into being a known entity and also wouldn't stick around.

A lot of this hexing stuff is from Omega honestly. People keep retroactively applying it, but back when only Asura was out, it wasn't "hexing" and "being too strong to win", it was about each fighter having a limited number of "However!"s

Despite the fact that we functionally take on the role of the audience in the same way the crowd does, we're not on the same wavelength as them.
They believe that cheap gimmicks are strong, that deadlocks aren't hype, and that the fighters are martial artists instead of wizards.
Their dialogue does not reflect us.

>Kuroki fighting the Fang next (or Sen, but let's be real here, he's fighting the Fang)
Honestly, I'm starting to think that he can maybe do it. He keeps winning fights that it narratively feels like he shouldn't.
>>
>>
>>
>>287366586
You're partially right, but any statement about being stronger is a free "However!" card for your opponent.
Kengan has always, to some degree, operated on pro wrestling/battle shonen logic.
Some characters are destined to be R1 jobbers, and other characters are destined to put up a really good fight but still lose narratively.
"Too strong to win" is less of a jobber flag right now, and more of a good fighter who still loses flag.

>>287364827Is this the only time we see the match itself be hexed, rather than one of the fighters?

>>287369212
I guess my point isn't that it doesn't exist but rather than it was a lot more unpredictable and chaotic in that regard. Hence why people were more focused on "who's gonna get the last however" than "what kind of meta hex witchcraft is being used"

I mean, you're not entirely wrong (it's a lot for flavor) but this page is perfectly fine. It's conveying exactly what it should
>playful Metsudo welcoming Nogi for their fight as CEOs
>Metsudo highlighting the fact that Nogi is putting everything at stake here (which we already knew and is relevant)
>Nogi replying that he just has to win anyway, and adding that he's on his way to surpass Metsudo by doing just that
It's very standard, I don't see how there's anything to say about that, let alone this giant schizopost
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>287369437
The schizo is just schizoing, but I do agree that the position of Kengan Chairman is a bit weird. What exactly does he do? All these factions and politics and background deals are the core of the non-combat events, but it's not actually clear what this really means. At best we get some vague outlines that he is a rich businessman, but since the business part of the story is so handwavey, it's treated more like a moral victory to overcome him. And as much as complaining about "stakes" is a meme, it does prevent me from being too invested in the business side of the Kengan story.
And really, that was my main problem with the whole scarface revolt plot. To me, it felt like the mangaka wanted me to be way more invested in Kengan as an organisation than I am. Like, that panel of the fighters triumphantly raising their fists, seemed to me like it was supposed to be an emotional scene, a celebration how they all defended Kengan! Or whatever. But I don't care about Kengan. It's just an excuse to show cool fights. I somewhat care about Nogi for going all in, which is an admirable character trait. But even that is too nebulous for me to get properly invested. I care for Kazzy, because he is a likable guy, but his debt and company stuff is just whatever. The business side of the story barley matters, and that makes these conversations between Metsudo and Nogi feel hollow.
>>
>>
>>287369944
You're on point. This is still, at its core, a fighting manga and therefore has more to say about conditioning, devoting yourself to your craft and so on. The business side is a good way to create some mystery, some plotting, some light stakes for Kazzy (muh debt!!!!) and all of that, but it also probably shouldn't be taken so seriously. That said I don't think that page rings hollow even with that since the point was to show the rising star Nogi going balls deep and finally being put on the same stage as Metsudo, which doesn't really require specifics here.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>287369996
>which doesn't really require specifics here
We disagree then. I understand the point, but I think it DOES require more specifics to be more than just vibes. But I understand the author just isn't the kind of guy to really elaborate on that, so you won't see me bitching about it.
Okay, maybe you will see me giving snarky comments on it, but that's all in good fun.

To a very high degree I'd say. Though it's a good choice considering both use fights to deliver entertaining storylines.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>287369944
I think the best way to go about it for Sandro was to NOT show the CEO-to-CEO conversations, and only show the fighters' and Kazzy's perspective. That way the small bits of business dealings we see don't have to be fleshed out to seem coherent.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>287373899
>>287373041
Just don't show all CEOs and keep some things in the dark. But then it's also a tradeoff, of course the business side is weaker and more wishy washy but this also gave us lots of funny or interesting interactions. Also the simple *potential* given by this setting, even if it's not used at its fullest, makes the tournament seem bigger than it is, which I think is a pro.

You know, in hindsight,it's kinda funny that Omori says he'd be a bad match into Sen when he's apparently some kind of extremely precise technician who is great at sleight movements while having a huge library of effective techniques. Maybe the fact he has such a huge catalog of moves to choose from is why the "current Agito" is a better matchup against Sen since there's so little lag time in his move selection whereas Omori probably has a similar problem to Formless Agito since he's mastered so many martial arts.

This rundown won't be quick
>Spiderman comics have spent the last twenty or so years slowly but surely ruining the character
>One of the most galling issue is that they refuse to let Peter and Mary Jane get back together again after having the Devil break them up to save Aunt May from dying
>About eight years ago a writer named Nick Spencer was tasked with writing Spiderman. It was a pretty okay run with some good and some bad but his main selling point was that he was teasing undoing One More Day, the event that broke Peter and MJ up
>This did not happen (he did undo another universally hated event Sin's Past which was some consolation)
>The next writer after Spencer, Zeb Welles instead wrote an entire arc where MJ gets trapped in an alternate world for a decade with this OC named Paul Rabin and falls in love with him
>Paul is an INCREDIBLY hated character,(even other writers fucking hate the character) the hate he gets is far FAR less than what Rei gets
>Paul proceeds to stick around all the way into the next writer's run (2021 to literally two weeks ago he finally got killed by some lame edgy event villain named "Torment")
Okay this is the basic information to understand the Spider schizos next post is the real rundown

don't forget that the hatred of paul and the general relationship stagnation of peter lead to the ultimate spiderman reboot to get praised to hell and back by the simple fact they allowed peter and mj to be married with kids (even if afterwards the run failed to deliver on its promises)

>Spiderman fans on /co/ have just spent about twenty or so years watching their favorite character be systematically ruined
>This site being a haven for maladjusted autists proceeds to breed a selection of psychopaths
So here are the schizos I'm familiar with
>Gwenschizo: The primary schizo. Absolute insane piece of shit. Polish, can't read English and just looks at the pretty pictures and "communicates" though running posts through translation aps. Once got tricked into admitting to being a pedophile and terminally online. Likes to start Storytiming comics to fuck with threads, usually One More Day, but never finishes them.
>Gwenschizo's schizo (will be refered to GSS from here on): This is the guy you see constantly talking about pedophiles. He is OBSESSED with Gwenschizo and will always ALWAYS reply to the freak. Even if Gwenschzo catches a rare ban GSS will still try and bait Gwenschizo.
>Paul Schizo: Probably just an devolution of GSS but who the fuck knows. He's another spammer who constantly posts about how cool Paul accompanied by the same handful of photoshopped pics. Relatively new but incredibly prolific
>Marywhorekek: Hates Mary Jane with a passion. Possibly Dan Slott a former Spiderman writer, definitely insane. Less active now but was a menace during Spencer's run
All of this is just me assuming it's one person and not just groups of apes smearing shit on the walls for the lulz. Regardless this has been going on for ten goddamn years at the least with little to no intervention from the mods because those threads ALWAYS hit bump limit without fail

Now here is my spicy take:This shit is allowed because it drives the illusion of engagement at the very least. As I said the threads reach bump limit without fail and in pretty fast speedsThere is also the fact that /co/ like a lot of boards is nearly unmoderated, yeah they'll sweep through and get rid of the most obvious shit but for the most part they leave the place like a mini "Inside"This makes for a real nasty soup that favors the worst posters but the mods don't care as it's the double benefit of making this place look alive and the schizos not fucking with their personal fiefdom threadsOnce you start seeing unabated schizos on /a/ it might be finally time to jump ship for real because at that point any actual patrolling mods are gone with the only ones left being the ones protecting their bet threads/topics

>the event that broke Peter and MJ up
You know, I think every time someone has talked about this they always shorten the name to MJ, and I never connected it to Mary Jane, and just assumed it was JJ (I had to look up the name, I am not versed in spiders). That makes more sense now.

>Once you start seeing unabated schizos on /a/ it might be finally time to jump ship for real because at that point any actual patrolling mods are gone with the only ones left being the ones protecting their bet threads/topics
We've had a guy intentionally spoil these threads, try to get us in trouble with an Omega Storytime that no one asked for and when that didn't work he went right back to spoiling the threads and attempts further derailment with disingenuous bitching and the mods still haven't done anything about him
The Chainsawman threads were fucked by a Powerfag and the Drama Queen threads are fucked because of a guy bitches about the story not being based and racist enough and calling others cultistsI assume the Drama Queen schizo is the same Schizo from the Bouryoku threads because their style of posting is identical and when he was mentioned in the Asura threads it must have flared his autism because he revealed himself soon after. He's not really a schizo either, just a faggot trying to derail random threads
>>
>>287379755
>when that didn't work he went right back to spoiling the threads
If you don't mind stopping the headcanon, I am not the one spoiling the threads, and I didn't start the storytime to derail anything. It's gone already, get me out of your head.

I think /vg/ has a really fun rogues' gallery of schizos. I used to have a hard time imagining what kind of person would spend their days trying to ruin threads about a specific topic but every time one of them gets doxed my reaction is "yeah, that seems about right"
>>
>>287380354
The story is bad, the characters are weak, the author wants us to know that killing Aliens is bad and doesn't solve anything but also can't spare time to make a cast of Alien characters for us to follow so we're stuck with Lily and this new other Alien and the pacing is so jank and rushed it's like the manga could get shitcanned at any moment. You can only have so many scenes of Aliens getting no-diffed by 1 to 2 people with hammers before the novelty wears off
The threads don't even need a Schizo anyway since half the anons reading the manga can't even be fucked to have a discussion and instead just shitpost about Total Alien Death and concocting the next stupid theory that either completely ignores the narrative or will get shafted in a couple more chapters because the Mangaka never even hinted at the idea
>>287380492
/co/'s schizo's are just sad, most of them clearly want to go back to their childhood like Famicom or have severe delusions of grandeur like Guy, so a lot of their posting is them trying to force their delusions into reality

>>287376613Sen's style works by baiting you into playing his game and then turning your force against you at the exact moment. Where you won't even realize that you're doing what he wants you to do, until its too late.
Agito can beat him because in this 'mode', he's too autistic to do anything but his programmed routine. Sen can't bait him into anything and Agito stat checks him so Sen can't just outskill him, easily.
Omori seems far more psychologically 'normal' and would fall into Sen's trap and lose the fight.

>I used to have a hard time imagining what kind of person would spend their days trying to ruin threads about a specific topic but every time one of them gets doxed my reaction is "yeah, that seems about right"
Come on mate, you can't say that and not give us at least one example of them.
>>
I don't browse /co/ but people on /a/ are generally really dramatic about how "bad" generals on here are.
Yea sure we have DBS tier threads which literally took over almost the entire site at some point, but ultimately that all comes down to having fun with their preferred series.
Unless you have been in a general where everything just revolves around personal drama between a few dedicated autists like in /mhg/ you haven't seen the depths of hell.
>>
>>287381070I'm inclined to agree. Omori is a master of a large repertoire and he knows a lot of little tricks to avoid damage, but he's basically playing a similar game to Sen without committing to the purity of leading his opponents along. He'd end up getting read like a book by Sen and fall into his pace.

>Seethes at KnY for no good reason though likely because it overshadowed some of his other favorite shows
>Claimed that the first movie would fail
>Got mindbroken when it didn't
>Went on a schizo crusade when Infinity Castle got announced saying it won't ever surpass the first one
>The movie breaks multiple records
>Baited into showing his (expired) passport
>Refused for a while to even post his hand with weird excuses
>Somewhat recently got baited into showing his hand that's white

There's a lot more to say about that guy but every KnY thread that comes up and some other SJ ones too, he'll be present arguing how it's a flop.

>far FAR less than what Rei gets
Not sure why you'd compare him to Rei in the first place. Rei isn't really hated, people just find him boring and uninteresting. It's not as if his presence ruins the manga in any way or anything like that.
If you want to see a character people actually HATE, you need to read Omega.

So if even Nogi thinks Hatsumi wouldn't make for a good "fang", what is his plan after becoming Kengan chairman? He doesn't (seem to?) have Metsudo's means to produce top level fighters, so why wouldn't Metsudo just get the title back in the next tournament when Hatsumi isn't in top gear?

He might have something in mind, but remember that to become chairman you have to get the votes (which Metsudo probably could easily) and then fight through an entire annihilation tournament again and win it.

It doesn't seem to be easy to just call a KAT into motion, so it's possible that he's just hoping that if someone does try to do another KAT, he'll have enough time and resources to scout a top level fighter (or get Sen into top gear again. Or borrow Waka since he's allies with Waka's CEO. Or something else.)

It's probablythe purest "subversion" outside of Kuroki beating Setsuna. Hatsumi has been built up the entire series up to this point, he gets stronger with each fight and the previous one was already a pretty dominant performance, and he starts off hot here with his Ohma warmup and his predictions. For Agito to then completely shit-stomp him caught me completely by surprise the first time. I can see why that is though, because after Kuroki's increasingly impressive showings, it sets the stage perfectly for Agito vs Kuroki, the best fight in the tournament and to my mind, one of the best in all of manga.

>people like the boat jobbers as average
I mean, in-universe they are average or better. Everyone who made it to the KAT and that had a proven record were among the upper echelons of the KA. There are thousands of fighters registered in the Kengan Association, and the boat jobbers at least had reputations for the most part. They just lacked big sponsorships to be entered directly into the main event. Lihito, despite being potentially the weakest in the KAT, was a rising star who was crushing people left and right.

I think you're right, but I still hate that fight ending. The cliffhanger ending in a stupid "nu-huh he just blocked" feels super cheap, and the way the Dragon Shot becomes some sort of mega-super-deathpunch is not good either. I would've preferred him to lose by getting overwhelmed by Agito's evolution than this lame stomping. It's obvious Sandro abandoned the "Evolution" gimmick because it was becoming too tough to write.

Thanks OP.This fight's always a hard one to read. Hatsumi does everything right and still gets utterly humiliated by Agito. He has Agito on the back foot almost the entire fight, he micrododges a lot of Kanoh's shit, finds openings to throw all his best shots at Agito and none of it matters at all. Good example of how sometimes your best just isn't good enough.

Man, really REALLY is the definition ofa jobber.
He was being hyped since his first page, everyone praising him and never show his True strenght until a climatic fight with someone who's his goal, but he just didn't lose It. He's deeply and embarassingly humiliated, just to show how stronger Agito is. No other character was done dirt like him.

It's always fun to learn about other boards and their thread cultures. Speaking of /co/, have you ever been around the Death Battle threads? They're essentially /dbs/ the squeakquel but they still have some of their own memes like-
>KINGTOOOOOOS
That came around when they infamously fucked up the God of War lore to comical extremes. Tons of posting about "being better men" too. Otherwise the threads are a constant war about how X character is actually a weak loser jobber who is wall level because he got hurt once or how they're a cuckold (just like /dbs/ threads). The threads are a collective ofhuishengvictims

Kumagawa is the most meta aware character but he gets it all wrong because he only knows WSJ manga
Zenkichi has a solid grasp on fundamentals and Devil Style makes him practically immune to hexes. He's probably Cosmo-tier
The two minuses have gimmick powers that are dangerously OP so they're not making it past R2
Akune is basically Okubo
Kamome's fight goes as well as Mokichi's
Medaka is Shen-level so she's not in the tournament

All I know is that Kumagawa would lose, but in the most unexpected way that somehow takes out several of the heavy favorites with him.
And by lose, I don't mean he doesn't make it past round one, I mean he probably doesn't even make it to the tournament. But somehow drags Agito and Kuroki down with him preventing them from making it either. Somehow.

What makes this unbearable for me is that I really used to like doing these kind of silly spitballing threads where I would just try to get the ball rolling to get some ideas about how to implement something in my next session/campaign, but whenever I open a thread like that now atleast the first 5 posts or so are """"discussions"""" about bump faggotry and nogame shitposters. /tg/ being spammed with shitty non-threads made a sizable (or atleast very vocal) part of the userbase absolutely paranoid that any thread might be made in bad faith. Akoya depending on whether he's going full schizo or getting Hiyama's commands
Ohma pre/post-brain damage
Setsuna depending on his state of mind
Agito depending on whether it's "I" or "We" in control
Sawada and Nezu are tentative since we have basically no data. I put Nezu in sei since being angry/depressed apparently put him off his game? There are some I could see the argument for either one, so I just went with my gut. Ironically, I think a good argument could be made to put Raian and Meguro under sei
