GT seems to suffer from a crisis of identity with its villains, and it's only been half a testament so far. It's convoluted in a way that's not actually all that entertaining, but worse, does an a number on the thematic coherence in the threats. And then there's the fact that GT hasn't introduced nearly as many memorable or beloved characters as OT or GT, but that's a discussion for another time.

OT was villain of the week up through the first half, then GRS, where Vento was defeated, Terra got killed, Acqua was de double Jesus'd, now there's a coup, and then they all ended up being used and joined Touma's side. NT was gremlin for the first half, then MGs, but actually Kamisato, but then with Kamisato against Yuiitsu, and then Coronzon's wild ride. Saying that Anna should have been the main villain or Kamachi probably changed his mind is fine, but if anything GT has been hyper focused on one group centered around one thing more than the previous installments. I'll agree Coronzon round 2 was a hell of a turn though.

I like the use of characters. Kazakiri and 545 being accel's helpers, Seria doing shit in GT6, All the GT3 characters returning for GT5. and have enjoyed most of the volumes quite well. I feel like the NT/OT magicians besides Stiyl kinda got left out. Kanzaki has been around for the last 3 volumes without actually doing anything not to mention getting sanded in GT4. If Kuroko can get a major role in two volumes, and Stiyl can power jack two magic gods then surely anyone can hang. I'm still a bit disappointed that crossing the abyss hasn't been brought up since NT despite the implication of it being a huge deal.

He actually did try how evil she was did not matter to him, the issue occurred when Lola was spamming anti-IB OHKO nukes on sight. When dealing with Touma Lola was actually more aggressive than both Othinus & CRC combined. Touma would always let Lola yap her heart out but he got no such courtesy back, the moment she has a sightline on him some OHKO is flying at his face. Despite this Touma still tried and tried again until he was basically cornered and had no other option but to fist her. If Hamazura made it there and did anything to reduce Lola's aggro level even by 1% the situation would have change dramatically but as is Lola would rather die than talk to Touma.
