You'd better not hold your breath. The last time I'd witnessed mods actually explain why threads were getting pruned was over 10 years ago on /a/, and the mods there have always been more active than any other board. It didn't stop people from making the threads either, so it's safe to assume it's just policy. The enforcement of 'anthro' rules has always been arbitrary. Back when I had worse taste than I do now I used to frequent monster girl threads on /jp/ and those would get routinely and arbitrarily nuked as well. It's mostly up to whether or not the mods got their hotpockets that afternoon.

That being said, the enforcement's been getting more lax over the years. The rules banning any kind of anthro art were also relaxed to only pr0nography. I can only assume /trash/ was created to act as a pseudo-/fur/ board without looking like they were betraying their 'principles' from the founding. I suppose there's some instinct to clutch to the 'old internet' but you need to remember that according to 4chan staff, posting cartel dismemberment on /gif/ is more conscionable than posting a reptilian alien on a pornography board that simultaneously allows AI generals that aren't even remotely 'cartoon.' Furfags have always been an easy punching bag, but these days, I'd take 100 furfags in a thread over a single sharteen.

Never played Abiotic Factor, but I think games like that would benefit from having a friendly alien/monster/robot creature that you have a rare chance of encountering who can be recruited to hang out around your based and help you in various ways. That would be cool.

Someone may already have worldbuilded this but I felt after thinking about it, this thread would have the most fun with this idea.
Gave an idea on a discord.
Say your the head honcho of like starfleet or some nondescript benevolent coalition of humans and aliens. You'd get to decide who gets inducted, and in some cases who gets uplifted.
I asked what would be the criteria for entry.
30 seconds later.
"The breed ability of their women".
This genuinely had me thinking and realizing the second order effects.
Humans are horny and I frequent nightmare waifus so I know the level of inhuman being humans are willing to fuck.
The way I figure it, if all aliens in the coalition are genetically compatible with himans, unless all alien species are just as horny as humans, without regulation, it's a question of when not if that this version of starfleet would be nothing but human-alien hybrids.
So yeah, kinda long winded, but horny star trek seems like a good setup for stories.

Andromeda was an utter sham from the first hour. You make FIRST CONTACT WITH AN ALIEN FROM A WHOLE DIFFERENT GALAXY... The game gives you a fakeout "we come in peace" only to go straight into combat anyway. Like, this is the whole point of playing a Mass Effect game and not Doom. I used to think they could be real when I was younger, but as I got older and I learned what a "statistical impossibility" actually meant in relation to there being life out there, I realized that we're basically alone in the universe.

That would be weirdly sad. Being the only people in all of existence is somehow sadder than alien life existing but being impossible for us to ever interact with due to vast distance between worlds.
Also, I've always really liked the idea of a sci-fi story where Humanity is the progenitor species that was the first to evolve, gain sapience and eventually explore the galaxy, only to find that we're truly alone in the universe (or at least the galaxy) so we take it upon ourselves to seed life across the Milky Way. I feel like that has to be a thing already. Humans being the ancient forerunners is a neat idea.

Sapient alien life other than us is certain to exist. However the only thing that we can determine is nothing in the surrounding ~10k lightyears is advanced enough to be broadcasting anything. Humanity right now would only be detectable to the nearest 100 lightyears, ~10k stars (essentially nothing).

As for intelligent life in a human sense, highly unlikely. Unless the aliens evolve more energy-efficient nervous tissue, large brains are a liability until the extra mass actually pays off and there is a good chance of the species driving itself to extinction through wars and environmental degradation not long after emerging. And this doesn't account for intelligence that is so foreign to human intelligence that it wouldn't be recognized as such by humans.

With VNFF, once I finish it, I’m actually gonna edit it, try to streamline the story, cut down on the word count, and remove all the Xcom references make it OC. Yeah, that’s about my assessment of it. I will say the demand for romance stories for a male audience is growing from what I’ve seen, and especially male human on female anthro/alien/monster stories. So I could make a decent case for it to a publisher I feel, especially since this story already has an audience for it.
