weird looking ahh

That's the best shot of something really rare and not totally obvious as to where it is

That's cool how it's only the neck and part of the upper chest with the shadow under it
>>
>>4964164
it's cool because people can't see their neck, only the part the camera was pointed at (usually their face)

It's sad this species will be eradicated in the wild due to living in Africa with all the proto-hominids starving from no usaid

This bird looks very scary. I'd probably freak out if I saw it like this IRL.

Birds in general are dying off from their own issues and human bullshit.

Shoebill looks like a bird version of Gigachad
>>
>>4963638
Why do they always look so pissed off? What is their fucking problem?
>>
>>4986296
It's mainly a matter of how we perceive their supraorbital ridge, those sunshade structures above their eyes that gives them that "scowling eyebrow" look when viewed from certain angles, especially from the front.

We, with our expressive, moving eyebrows, interpret it as an emotional display or mood indicator, a function it does not have.

It's a problem we have with other Animals as well, that don't use facial articulation to communicate moods or emotions. To us, a Dolphin will seem to be happy and smiling, even if it is very upset or angry, whereas a Vulture will seem to be forever angry or upset, even when it's as happy as can be.

???
But why?
>>
>>4986549
It has eyes of a predator. Most creatures with eyes like that are venomous and/or want to feast on your flesh. But this one doesn't. What's up with that?

Why does this bird trigger instinctual fear in me? It really unsettles me.
>>
>>5013635
Their imposing nature means they have little to worry about, hence why they're chill.

You can thank the increase of feral cats and raccoon populations wiping out birds due to retards giving them free food.

I love them. I feel primal dread from it looking at the camera, you can see it's thinking about if it's prey in its predator brain.
>>
>>5024020
It's the predator eyes, anon. Forward looking, unblinking, calculating.

Shoebills are that important evolutionary link between dinosaurs and muppets.

They're not even from the same order.
