Here's one. I actually literally just picked him up
>get call from neighbor
>kid found two ducklings
>mom nowhere to be found
>sibling got swooped up by a raven
>asked me to take care of the survivor
Currently looking into the permits I need to raise him. Enclosure has some tap water, horse oats for bedding, and a cardboard box full of paper towels for a sleeping spot. Food for the next few days is gonna be some mashed bananas, chopped spinach, and whatever bugs I can catch outside. Ordered some mealworms and proper bedding so that'll be in tomorrow. I'm gonna whittle him a wooden duck friend since his family is gone. What else do I need?

tragic news. The duckling passed away the next morning. I was up with him all night, but I gave him too deep of a water pool, and he wound up starting to drown. He had stopped breathing, so I gave him light chest compressions and the best gentle rescue breaths I could by plugging his nose holes and forming a seal around his bill with my lips. That got him breathing again, so I placed him next to a space heater on a towel and tried to get him dry. He began cheeping again and seemed to have some energy, so I placed the space heater next to his enclosure, partially covered it to keep the heat in, and slept for a few hours. When I woke up, he had passed. Pretty torn up about it. The whole ordeal has me looking into veterinary first aid training so I never have to let this happen again.
I already bought all the supplies for raising a duck though, so I'll be properly ready for next time. I think I'll raise a flock of my own too, since they make good garden critters.

My roommate once saved a baby bunny from some dickhead ravens in the park. He spent the afternoon making things ready to raise it, similar to you. The next morning, the bunny was dead. Sad, but that's life. Would be interesting to know exactly why they died

My duck hatched out 7 ducklings like a week ago. Pretty cute lil bastards.
I forget if we got this duck or it just showed up, but she hangs out on our property and hasn't left for a good while now.

Hey, guys. I live in an MST region of the US and I just saw a pair of mandarins at my job. I saw a pair last year around the same time. Any ideas why there were even mandarins in this part of the US? It's even weird that they were in the US in the first place.

i like to meet with a guy from work down at the duck pond in the village where he lives every few weeks. we just sit there for a few hours, surrounded by all kinds of ducks and waterfowl. they're all used to human presence and some of them come begging for food, i always bring a little bread for them or share my pizza with them that i sometimes get nearby when i'm drunk. i fucking love ducks, they're awesome. i feed them from the hand and watch them for hours while shitposting drunk. great times.
