It is likely that last year's chicks are alive and travel together, as two young eagles were previously seen circling near the nest a couple of times and the pair were not usually angry towards the visitors.

the nest has been there for several years but i read something after i made the thread that said shadow and jackie started nest rebuilding late in the season last year due to unseasonably warm weather (thanks climate change!) which is why there's no eggs yet. it seems we may have to wait a little longer.

What happened to it? I saw the raven crack the other egg, but that one looked cracked first. I couldn't find the timestamp where it happened though.

01/31/26(Sat)08:58:48 No.5097528 Fug, what a shitty season. I remember something about eagles starting a new clutch if they lose it too early but I don't know if that's possible now.

2 healthy female chicks raised last season and based on sightings it's likely they survived their first year

The statistical odds of it go like this:
https://www.elfruler.com/?page_id=3218
>Of the 44 failed clutches, the adults at 12 laid second clutches, which is 27.3% of the failed first clutches, or only 3.1% of total clutches.
The page says the timing is important. If it's too late, they're not gonna try again.
These eggs were lost only a couple of days after they were laid. It looks like there should be time to retry. I guess we'll see.

Hard to tell because of camera quality and lighting, but egg looked fine in this pic? Egg cracked before ravens show up. Somewhere 12-13?
