me personally, i do not understand why this is known as the ugliest animal in the world, when humans have caused it to become like this by bringing it up to the surface, any thoughts?

>be underwater fishe surviving in one of the harshest environments on the planet
>see this weird light thingy
>decide to eat it
>suddenly start feeling this rushing sensation going upward
>light coming out of nowhere
>body tissue exploding
>die
>giant hairless apes grab you and start gawking at you taking endless pictures
>put in formaldehyde and studied for years later
>said hairless apes make your bloated lifeless corpse into a dog's playtoy

The sheer disrespect this fish gets intentional or otherwise is staggering.

They made the corpse of fucked up deep sea fish popular. I wish they would kill this lame meme.
>>
>>5093341
In fairness, most people I've seen about blobfish nowadays seem to talk more about how the original ruling was unfair then believing the corpse is how it always looks

The pic you have isn't even the same species. They are still ugly alive.

Is this thread just filled with secret blobfish posters or contrarians grandstanding over muh dead fishe?
>>
>>5096367
I heard it was the tranny mascot because it's only ugly because it's mutilated.

murdered and humiliated for the world to see

People only ever use this one image to represent the entire species so I have doubt that's what they all look like decompressed

They're pretty close

>why are you looking at me like that human-kun?

he cute

Why does the skin turn pink and slippery like that? What happens to the old texture and spines/hairs/whatever?
>>
>>5096998
It's not the same species.
>>
>>5097000
Ah that makes sense. Are there pictures of what the pink slimy one looks like normally?
>>
>>5097008
Yeah >>5096982 is one example

The skin is still a different color and texture. It's pink and looks smooth on the pulled up fish and grey with a rougher texture on the underwater ones.

When you depressurize your body swells and vessels rupture, often times causing flesh to seperate from muscle, making your corpse look bloated if it's not splattered across a lower pressure vessel. This can effect the pigmentation of your skin tissue too.
>>
>>5097037
Oh yeah. That makes sense.
