I put $500 into Robinhood last week and it's now $494 and I feel like pulling everything out
How do people lose thousands and just continue living life?

The trick is just putting in the same amount every paycheck and not worrying about it. Put the maximum amount that you don’t even think to check. I started with about $100/pay period and now I’m at about $2000/pay period. If it would materially affect your life, or if you think you may need to sell to cover life expenses then you’re putting too much in

This is the way. Picking the investment type is the second half of the equation.
But, only invest money you will not miss and pick an investment type you are comfortable with. Good enough returns, NOT get rich quick!
Invest at regular intervals and stick with it.

Money is a disposable tool, also you dont actually lose any money until you sell, so don't sell.

You don't. You die. You meet Jesus Christ at the cross and he redeems your soul with his blood. Then you're born again and are no longer of this world. Money is of this world and love of money is the root of all evil. I don't love money, I need it to make my family's life better and for my kids in the future. The money I lost doesn't matter - only the money I still have. Play the hand you're dealt and know when to fold em and walk away.

I had my biggest 1 day loss recently, over 70k gone just like that and I didn't even blink, why? Simple the amount of money I put into my account is around 50k and pre drop my account was at 294k so instead of thinking about it as losing 70k I see it as still being 174k up from where I started.
