Because, since "Bitcoin" got institutionalized, considering that banks and asset managers have it categorized as scary scary crypto asset and therefore their risk models consider BTC as a risk-on asset quite like equities, and so they pump/dump it with equities, this is why BTC correlation vs equities has been going up and is now around 90% I think.
