Why is there such a stigma against girls who cosplay for money? As someone who has never had a girlfriend, being able to send money to cute girls who cosplay as the characters that I love is one of the only things in my life that makes me feel like I have a purpose. From patreon to onlyfans, it's on of my biggest joys and motivations in my life. One day I hope I can give money to a cosplayer at a con in real life and not just through the internet.

I don't care about the money part. I don't want to see a 14 year old stepping on a 40 year old. Better yet, taking up so much space in busy hallways and halls and disturbing walking paths. Cons really need to ban solicitation signs.

Because most of the time they simply do not care about nor embody the character they are playing. It's like Netflix anime-->live adaptations - none of the people on the project give a fuck about the source material, they care about the cash. Seeing a girl cosplaying your waifu is supposed to be a dream come true, a fantasy. If you know that it's all for the money then it ruins that, and it's just another woman.

>when you know multiple cosplayers who have 10-100k followers
>they all use an app to alter their appearance so much they dont even look like themselves and effectively catfish people
>hide themselves at cons behind mask policies because they know what will happen if a real picture of them gets leaked
>>
I personally dislike it because it encourages a breadth of people who have no interest in the medium, or any franchise they are cosplaying, to enter cons primarily for the sake of financial gain rather than any interest in a cartoons, comics, anime, gaming, etc. Nothing is more irritating at a con than talking up a cosplayer who has never once touched the series they're cosplaying, and just like gym scrotes who are walking around in their negative-effort Inosuke and Goku cosplays, the fact that I can literally visually identify ulterior motives makes for bad experiences. If you're the kind of moron who wants to pay for masturbation material, you should instead search around for Fantree/OF girls outside of cons rather than within them.

so you want to pay a woman to
1) dress up for you
2) have it be a sexy/good looking ANIME GIRL by a GOOD LOOKING WOMAN
3) probable ALSO WANT SEX/ Have them do things from said anime/ fandom/ random con thing you are into aka "hit me with a whiffle bat/ step on me/ suck me off/ etc."
4) unless you are in a VERY SPECIFIC Legal BROTHEL in VEGAS(lots of fake ones/purposefully misleading ones) and lots of states renewing old laws/passing new ones to hunt down and screw you over for traveling both in STATE and OUT OF STATE/COUNTRY to places its legal to do so
your only LEGAL WAY to do this sort of shit, AND not get in legal trouble is
da da DAAAAAA
LEGAL PORNO PRODUCTION
aka you are now the UGLY/FAT/SKINNY/ETC guy who fucks that "hot anime girl/woman who is definitely 18/21/etc. AND you yourself are now having to be OK with"
1) having your image and videos of said sex and sex acts record AND sold in legal sex tape/online legal adult sex porn sites
2) you WILL have said job/medical/history permanently fucked to be able to do this
3) your medical WILL permanently fucked because it will always result in high premiums and shjit
4) everyone's favorite glowies and other authorities WILL POINT/LAUGHT at your adult entertainment vids that they themselves get for free
5)???
6) You get to get away with doing it and not getting put in jail now or in the future(none of the 3 parties in America will probable go after you, they may ostrisize you, and do stupid shit for votes/money/look at me grandstanding/TV/video clips)
7) SMALL CHANCE AT PROFIT(you DID do a literal porno with a woman and guest starred in it, so unless you did/got ripped off via contract, you get SOME PROFIT!!!!!!)

Because of feminazi anglo cucktries not fully legalizing prostitution conventions sprung up as trawling grounds for these hookers, which means not only you are going against the short sighted dysgenic feminazi value system, but you are also stepping on the toes of nerdy hobbyists that probably don't want anything to do with that either.
And before you insult I don't support prostitution, but I truly believe that its banning based on feminazi logic spawned the toxic simp mutts we see today, they are inextricably linked

Hate to break it to you pal. But they hate you. They really hate you. You are the scum of the Earth. You are that stuff that grows in the cracks of the shower of older houses. You think they will let you get close enough to hand them money? They won’t. When (if) they get with a hot rich guy, you will be completely forgotten.
Join a gym, join a club, learn how to build up your social skills, and get with a woman that actually likes you.

I don't have anything again't sex workers and attention whores they usually have nice cosplays they get comisaioned with that epic whore money. But they draw an orbit of ugly men to cons. Maybe cons could have a policy of not allowing in ugly people and everything would be fine, ban ugly, fat, bald, etc. men froms cons

I have no issues at all with them but this is because
>1) In my higher mind I consider beauty to be a virtue. It is a true and great virtue because we instinctively seek it for its own good, without any other benefit.
>2) On my more base level, I am a coomer who enjoys scantily clad attractive women.

>Why is there such a stigma against girls who cosplay for money?
Many of the women who show up in provocative cosplays (seen here >>10868292) are literal whores. As in they go to conventions with the intent of selling themselves and spreading their legs in a hotel room. There is a large amount of sex and drugs that happen during cons and it's been this way for decades but people are only just now starting to wake up to it(the somewhat recent "five guys" incident was the first wake up call to a surprisingly large number of people.)
I do not have respect for whores. I don't hate them but I'm not going to pretend like they have anything to contribute to society other than their holes. If I see some random person at a con, man or woman, I assume they are a fan of whatever the con is about. If I see a cosplayer I assume they're a fan and hobbyist. If I see a character-themed whore I know they'll be going through an entire pack of condoms and are present almost exclusively for the profit opportunity.
>>
>>10868287
we dont like whoredom in our fandom. also, only cosplay in a bikini if a character is actually portrayed in one. i dont need to see a genderbent deku in a two piece. also, realize that most cons are family affairs, so dont whore it up by dressing up almost naked in a partial gantz plugsuit (you know who you are). when i started going to cons in middle school, it was never this bad. and thankfully, most female cosplayers still more sense than retardation

I'm a functional adult who doesn't like being surrounded by swarms of children. Cons should allow children but not pander to them or their puritan parents. "No, you cant have lewd figures, doujinshi, cosplay, etc. Think of the children!" Cosplay takes a bit when all you bring to a con is your pack of 23 shitty kids.
>>
Hobbies are done out of fun and passion. Work is done for money. You generally can't combine the two because they are inherently contradictory. This specially goes with cosplay because why the fuck would you do that for a job? The entire point of cosplay is to show your love and craftsmanship, that's why people do it. If you just treat it like a job it loses all meaning and becomes shit like anything where profit and money overtake passion.

I don't despise it, but I see cosplay as more of a passion and love for a character, so seeing people take advantage of that character to make money off of horny men doesn't sit well. I'm ok with people trying to sell professional photos though and trying to grow the cosplay community.
I do despise these types of signs though because it's asking for conflict and there's always the issue with minors getting involved. Banning them for the safety of people and hallway space would be nice.

Some one with poor impulse control would be desensitized and have difficulty jacking off to swimwear photos.
The significance is not that it's fappable, but that the original design was modified specifically to be more sexual. Usually just enough to get you to check out some onlyfans which you CAN fap too.

Onlyfans whores usually have 0 passion for the characters and just want income. Cosplay is a job and not an art on this situation.
I send money to cosplayers that I feel have passion and/or skill. Either they are a big fan of a franchise or do their own outfits or have passion for dancing. That way I feel I contribute more to an artist rather than just making someone else's income who wanted bucks for being pretty. I'm happy with the girls I Patron currently

Back in my day you had to be a super nerd to cosplay because only someone that actually really liked something would dress up as it. Slowly, attention-whores crept in, realising that dressing up is free attention and orbiters, and now fast-forward to 2023/4 and we have simps like OP paying people that only pretend to like anime and games money to dress up and take some photos for like an hour of their day maximum and then talk shit about OP afterwards and during the photoshoot.

the downside of banning uglies and fatties would lead to the con having like 50 attendees max and it would just be all the normies (men dressed as gokus and onlyfans women), the upside is banning fatties and uglies would virtually eliminate gender freaks from cons

Because everything about cosplaying becomes transactional. No one actually forms a community anymore, it's like you're talking to a walking talking ad/billboard now.

>>10868287
If your only self worth is giving money to people who you don't know and that you'll never be with, that's pathetic. I'm a wizard and you're the pathetic one here. I work hard for my money so I can survive and buy things that I like. I will never understand anyone who just wants to give their money away for nothing. Whether it is donating to cosplayers or donating to streamers. Like I understand wanting to show appreciation, and I will "like" media posts to show that, but sponsors exist and when it comes to cosplay, if you're doing it for money, you aren't doing it for the enjoyment of the fandom. There are people who cosplay for money who just know that a character is popular and will cosplay that character without ever having watched what show they are from or played what game they are from. I don't like fakers.

Puritan hangups mostly, alongside a misguided belief that making it illegal protects women from being sex trafficked. In which case, make prostitution legal, but make soliciting one illegal.
Personally I fall under the line that sex, like any drug worth taking, shouldn't be sold for profit, but I get people got to survive in a capitalist shithole.

The problem I've always had with western cosplayers and where I live is the fact they think they know EVERY-FUCKING-THING about anime and video games when in reality they haven't touched the water's surface.
Anime and cosplay has been going on longer than before the 2015-ish nerd geek chic boom by every normalfag and their mother, all the meanwhile stupid vapid whores like Jessica Nigri and that fat ugly chinese whore managed to grift millions from stupid thirsty men and don't really give a fuck about other than what Entertainment Weekly is forced to cover because celebrity whore garbage has dried up faster than a puddle in Death Valley.
Fun fact: geek shit and the social conditions it has been out here is nothing like it's been in Japan. For years, geekshit entertainment has always been on the fringe and has been enculturated to be a "male" thing. Meanwhile, Japan has managed to break out of the idea that anime and video games are a "male" thing way-way-way before the States ever did, and never gave in to the extreme whims of the watchdogs.
That's the hard fucking truth, and no, I am not taking it easy on any of you. You want to get that stigma off? You all have to earn it. Sins of the past, karma, all of that shit. America's not making animeshit. America doesn't have an aspiring artist to industry pipeline. I love cosplay, but in the end you all need to root out the weeds and you all need to eat the humble pie that you are all small fish in the the face of the ocean.

For someone who writes like they espouse all the stereotype biological essentialism and evolutionary psychology talking points you're ignoring another aspoect of women, the desire to be admired. A lot of those "whores" dress slutty because they like to show off and be desired without actually wanting to spread their legs to the highest bidder. "Look but don't touch". It's the external validation that overcomes their low self esteem. It's why some of them use dating apps to collect likes and matches without actually intending to meet anyone.

There use to be an acceptable form of this.
>Booth Babes
>They were professional models who talked to crowds and were paid for promotion.
But booth babes got killed off by woke faggots like Ash & Anthony Burch and all the other game journos pretending Booth Babes were exploited/objectified and didn't care about gaming
>In reality Booth Babes were professional models who got an easy pay day
>They kept a level of professionalism between event goes and the talent.
>They kept the bar high for being sexy
well after women ruined booth babes by attacking they for being marketing promo in came the cosplay whores. Which gave a rise to
>Ugly "sexy" cosplayers
>Muh crying about harassment and getting event goers kicked out
>Trying to slither back stage to try and network with devs, online personalities, journos, etc. and get "social media manager" jobs.
>Unsolicited retarded opinions on gaming when you find out they barely play a games at all.
>OMG buy my patreon/onlyfans promotion EVERYWHERE.... but don't you dare talk to them about it.
>"Selling" really stupid services like stepping on someone.... oh unless they don't feel like it. Then they won't do it and report you for asking.
>The same objectification for money they complained about is now happening for even less money with just as little passion as the paid professional.
People don't like attention whores trying to sell them bullshit.
I don't mind sexy cosplayers, I hate the entitlement and lack of professionalism.
The only difference between them and the booth babes they ran out of the industry is the willingness to leverage claims of discomfort and harassment to throw actual fans out of events, trying to fuck their way into entry level positions and any semblence of professionalism.

>>10868292 shows how the whole "don't harass the cosplayers" shit came about. All of these event have rules and the ones about women and there comfort are unspoken and enforced with draconian enforcement.
YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS A RULE AT THESE EVENTS? NO NONE BOOTH UNPAID SOLICITATION OF SERVICES OR GOODS, but these carnival barking whores get a pass selling pics with them, selling "steps and spanks", etc.
They don't buy a mech table spot, but they get a pussy pass claiming their very existance is a draw to the event while reporting people they want kicked out to staff.
This is why they aren't respected and are generally despised.
They ask for special treatment and attention while attacking the core fans.

Its a supply and Demand.
Blame both the supply and the demand.
If males were to actually get women. They would have a centralized person to explicitly invest in with $. Rather to multiple different women for a mere moment then check their bank accounts and say "Damn. I fucked up. Time to slave away for more coomer $." fallacy.
Men and Woman desire possessive nature over others. This is simply the way of the world as it were. Adam and Eve were like this and Eve told Adam to taste the forbidden apple because it was the shit.
So here we are. Worshipping women who easily prey on men fickle nature to throw money at those who dresses up as their fictional waifus. Some in hopes to actually fuck the live 3D women in fantasy scenarios in Expo inns.

I'm platonically in love with a girl I subscribe to. I like to DM her memes and my heart skips a beat when I read our messages. When I lay out the reasons why I think she's great and she reacts very thankful, its a really warm feeling. I love her cosplays and think she's genuinely talented and funny.
Is this pathetic? Maybe, but it motivates me to become a better person, even when I know I'll never be with her. Growing up I never interacted with girls and this is something I feel I needed. Just having a person that motivates you is very helpful and I'll forever be thankful to her for that. Just her existing and posting her creative work is enough to make me think "I have to try too"

>Many of the women who show up in provocative cosplays (seen here >>10868292) are literal whores. As in they go to conventions with the intent of selling themselves and spreading their legs in a hotel room.
based capitalism at work, baby
there are a lot of horny and lonely men to take advantage of at cons, I don't blame these women for taking advantage.
>There is a large amount of sex and drugs that happen during cons and it's been this way for decades but people are only just now starting to wake up to it (the somewhat recent "five guys" incident was the first wake up call to a surprisingly large number of people.)
kek, no shit!
Funny thing is that I did live in the US, but never went to a con. My mother got to go to more cons than me because a few were held at the hotel where she used to work.
This was in the 2010s. Already, she noticed some signs of horny shit going on when doing maintenance back then. I can only imagine how much worse that side of the fandom has gotten in this decade.

oh, and to answer OP's question:
Jealousy is one reason. How dare the mildly attractive women make money while I dump money into a hobby that doesn't give me any monetary earnings? Dumb shit like that.
Another is that a lot of them are fucking stupid in the sense that they don't know what they're getting into. When you get money involved with cosplay, you're generally going to have to pander to coomers. Sorry, life isn't fair. If you're female, rather thin and mildly attractive, you already have a head start over many. If you're very lucky, you might not even have to go through the porn route, and can scrape by with showing just as much skin as your favorite characters allow. Otherwise...get the camera out and pull up the skirt.
Some people are okay with dealing with coomers, and what comes with that territory.
Others are stupid and expect the internet to stop doing something when they ask on angry ig stories. Sorry, but I have 0 pity for people like that. You gotta be responsible and know your audience.
Oh, and to the people wanting to gatekeep cosplay: this was never going to be a "pure" hobby, get the fuck over it.

These aren't really jfashion. It's egirl shit, which is a cheap imitation for comers to give up simpbux. Maybe that's more of your thing and you'll stop shitting up the lolita threads now.
