You have to go out of your way to not make friends or have anyone to hang out with at Ontario cons. You could join the /cgl/ Discord or speak to any of us at a con, hang with the /a/toronto folks, or become a part of any other Ontario group interested in cosplay, anime or conventions. Your best bet is Anime North but there's plenty of communities that regularly meet even outside of con season.
