corporate life is sweet

Imagine being a middle age office drone walking into the cafeteria at work to grab a coffee and seeing some dumb zoomer filming their Sysco slop breakfast sandwich. Makes you wonder when they will need to start installing suicide nets on the side of buildings like in china.

Fucking right? What is that?
Worst cut bagel I've ever seen in my life too.
9/10 corpos don't do this for their drones btw. I hated corporate work, it's such a waste of time I get angry that I'm stuck at the office when I had nothing to do.
> There's always something to do
No there isn't, because the people above you aren't actually doing their jobs and leaving you hanging
Or they have to "run it up the chain" because they're too pussy to make a simple decision.
Food service is significantly harder, and more fun
I work for a few small businesses at this point, because they can't pay for shit, but it's more fun. When I'm working in actually working and not just tired to a desk to save face.
If you find the right businesses, the owner just wants help and is open to good ideas about how works smarter

It's crazy how many people are getting rich off social media. Even adding to their income that way, just recording the mundane shit they're doing, is crazy to me.
I don't blame people who do it, I really blame the idiotic consooomers addicted to short videos of nothing, and parents letting children have access to that.
>>21964815
Both should be available, it's about keeping people happy after all. It's not a matter plan for a healthy workplace, just taking things off your workers plate so they have more time and brain space to focus on work

this makes me feel pretty good about my choice to become an ER nurse. i don't always love my job, but the thought of how wretched an 8-5 office job is always cheers me. some of my colleagues who have only ever worked in health care would appreciate their jobs a little more if they had ever been office zombies i think.

this video really feels like a kid showing off his toys and being proud of them. I can't quite articulate it but the text, the cuts, the emojis, the fact it was filmed at all deeply disturbs me. If this is the average person now, we are so fucking raped and there is no saving us. Again I can't quite articulate it so you either get what I'm saying or you don't, sorry if you don't, I know it seems like I'm way overreacting but this is a very raped goyslave video.

I get what anon is saying, though. Why can't zoomers just eat a goddamn bagel without recording themselves for their tictacs? You see shit like that everywhere. I remember being a kid and then doing stupid shit like riding a bike through Walmart's aisles. Now kids stage themselves doing it for social media because they want a shot at going viral. It's manufactured, fake fun they're having. Just eat the goddamn bagel for fuck's sake.
>>
>>
>>
>>21964038
They better stop posting these videos on social media. One of the newly hired MBA's up in the corporate suite is going to see this and cut it so he can gloat about saving the company 0.31% of its gross revenue from being wasted by the slave pool.

I'd rather have an MRE than a lunchable. Even ignoring the portion size difference warm food that more closely resembles real food sounds better than processed ham/crackers, the fakest pizza in the world and the most processed salsa ever. MRE probably has less lead in it too.
>>
>>

>>
>>21964038
I would eat all the hams and cheese slices and take my coffee black but holy shit i want to be corporate so badly. Instead i get to work remotely for a small 20 person company as their entire hardware design department. No one knows what i do besides my boss, no one cares. The sales and marketing and hr people treat me like a harmless oddity, and we don't get catered lunches or anything
Although i am learning quite and have a lot of freedom so it's not all bad
>>
>>21965893
Companies have shit like this to encourage wagies to work longer hours/spend more time together and so they have "culture" to point to when asked why anyone should bother coming into the office over working remotely. It's also pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.
>>
>>
>>
>>
The amount of millennial corpo shit is inversely proportional to how good a job it is. If they throw pizza parties every friday its because you work 12 hour days with no break, or its because you have a fake job and are first to be laid off the second trump implements tarrifs
>>
>>21966091
Stop projecting. I used to work for a huge corporation with "perks" like a free cafeteria, a fancy breakroom, nap rooms and an onsite gym. It sounds awesome when you're a newfag, then you eventually realize those are just ways for management to try to extract free hours from you by pressuring you to work longer. These perks are merely an attempt to eliminate excuses to leave the office.
>come in early to have breakfast with the rest of the team at the cafeteria while we go over our previous quarter's performance, they're serving omelets and pancakes!
>it's been a long week, take a nap or go play some arcade games in the breakroom so you're refreshed to get this project done tonight, we'll even have pizza delivered!
>what's that, overtime might cut into your workouts? go get in your lift during lunch and bring something from the cafeteria back to your desk afterwards!
>you want to work from home? but we spent all this money on such a nice office so come use all these great amenities!
The pimped out office perks were cool when it was slow but absolutely not worth the expectation you'd work your life away whenever it got busy, which was more often than not because they're chronically understaffed. Never working more than 40 hours a week is the ultimate perk, which I now have at my remote job with another employer.

Hey buddy
People post mundane shit in social media to make money. It's not actually about showing off, and this isn't the average person. Being able to make money outside of a useless office isn't a bad thing.
It's going to be okay

Corporate jobs are for normies. Sure it feels good to be ~25 years old wearing some kind of semi-formal clothing to work, feeling like you're doing something worthwhile because your father-figure boss praised you for completing some project. But it's meaningless. They don't care about you, and none of it matters. Corporations don't attract people with soul, dignity, it attracts people who want to make a lot of money and jockey for status. The best you can hope for is being praised for playing along with this in your 20s until you have a breakdown in your 30s and decide to go harvest bananas in Guatemala or some shit. The corporate world is a dungeon for the soul, and a time comes where you can't find your way out again. Fuck your gay optimism, fuck your charity day photo opps.
>>

>just ways for management to try to extract free hours from you by pressuring you to work longer
i've heard this repeated several times, but unless you're a retard it's an actual perk

I don’t think you’d understand until you experience it. You get fired for acting like your second block of greentext. Not immediately, but overtime you’re not considered a “team player” because you leave on time.
Sometimes, it doesn’t even matter if you ARE done with your work but everyone else is staying late because they fucked off most of the day. Those places in particular are the fucking worst.
No, BRIAN, i don’t care that you didn’t look at any emails or review requests until 4:30pm because you dicked around all day. I’m leaving at 5pm and will do whatever dumb shit you want tomorrow.
No i will not be checking email at 7 even though you’re still in the office.
Fuck those people, i actually love my life outside of work
>>
>>21967400
Know how I can tell you haven't actually worked an office job? You think they're still 9-5 like the Dolly Parton song. It's either 9-6 or 8-5 because somewhere along the way (((they))) decided the lunch hour was no longer part of the workday. You still get your lunch break of course, but it's now considered off the clock so you are there for at least 9 hours.
>>
>>21966624
Why does the video exist in the first place? It's a basic bitch office bagel. Everyone else eats it and then goes about their day. Now this 22 year old new hire is constantly recording herself doing mundane shit like eating her daily bagel because she's desperate to go viral. It's just silly. Lowtax was right. The Internet actually did make people stupid.
>>

No one on 4chan even knows what this life is like. Everyone on this website works fully remote from home in tech making 250k a year or more, usually multiple jobs at once, and only work about 2 hours a day. They never work in offices or corporations with cafeterias like this.
>>
>>21964038
No it sucks. Do you think that food is free? No it's not. Instead of giving you in pay what that food is worth you are paid less.
Modern corporate jobs are just goy daycare for women so they they don't reproduce.

I worked for Monsanto for a couple of years and they unironically had an amazing corporate cafeteria. Even had signs saying the fruit and veg were non-GMO lol. They had free Ted Drewes ice cream too for the few people here that might know what that is.

Only women ever like working in the office and it's because they do nothing but gossip and hunt for a husbandl.
>>
>>21969596
i think maybe your perception of office work is skewed due to watching too much porn featuring secretaries
also flawed; i enjoyed working in an office despite being born with a huge cock, and the females working there were doing things related to the work they were hired to do
+ those nails look like they're fine for keyboard work, nothing too crazy
>>
>>21968212
Look at you getting fed twice a year. The company I'm at now does one single meal. A BBQ in August and that's it. We have a policy that is very, very clear on the fact that there will be absolutely no company paid meals. You can fuck off and die if you want a free lunch.
The worst part is I came from a company that had lunch like twice a month.
>>
>>
>>21969615
It might depend on the size of the office or company. Large ones have lots of places to hide and tend to have a huge block of people doing nothing of value. To be fair it might not be women specifically doing that vs the fact they are just a larger % of low-level office employees and thus are more visible.
>>
>>21969641
The goal is to get into an obscure part of the company that has low visibility and metrics that aren't easily trackable. This way you stay on payroll but deal with the least amount of people and can get away coming in and out at odd hours.
>>
>>21969641
Women doing nothing in offices tend to be loud and annoying. They get into groups and gossip with each other all day, or they go desk to desk trying to talk to anyone who will listen. Men doing nothing in offices usually just quietly sit in their cubicle reading, goofing around on their phone or napping.

Just like any bread product there are good and bad ones. I don't like bagel sandwiches, just sounds retarded to have a hole in the middle of a sandwich.
I put cream cheese, and occasionally lox. You can arrange the salmon along the bagel though, not over top of the hole

I basically consider this shit a negative. I used to work a job where I had salesmen coming to my office and brining me food every day. I would have a box of doughnuts and a big bag full of burritos and all kinds of pastries and stuff every day. It was a huge curse for me I would always want to just throw the shit directly in the trash to remove the tempation but I couldn't do that so I would put it all in the brake room and then when I would go to get coffee I would have to like try my hardest not to look at the food.

As someone that was in a position to say no to people, it really is an amazing tool.
That said the average fuck isn't indispensable and isn't generally in a position to say no without getting cut for "not fitting company culture"
Telling a power-tripping middle manager that I wouldn't be coming in the next week and watching him melt down was a highlight of my life

I became one of these consultants at 26 after getting my master's. The clients that hire major firms have a ton of money so we can bill them for a ton of hours to complete basic tasks. The more hours you bill, the more money the company makes, so they encourage time wasting behavior so long as the contract gets fulfilled. The most valued consultants are those who can
>talk clients into giving them fake make work
>spend a long time doing something basic, but sell it as something amazing to the client
>game the billable hours and budgets to waste as much time as possible without being obvious when it's audited
It's the beautiful efficiency of late stage capitalism. I know this job will end one day so I've been saving thousands a month, just got my 1st home last year, have six figures invested.

>>
>>
>>21967661
Office jobs are salaried. You aren't paid by the hour. It's the entire reason convincing people to stay extra hours is a thing. How long you spend there is entirely up for negotiation. Any real job, as in produces a real product; if you work extra hours you have to be paid more than during your normal hours. We are long overdue for normal hours to be 20 per week as this is the only way to encourage full employment.

Its very stuffy, you can't be yourself. I even have to use ChatGPT when I reply to emails now.. to sound 'human'... I've only ever used email for most of my life in a corporate setting so coming across as normal is so alien I sound like a robot. Pretty sure people in my current non-corporate job make fun of me or think I'm retarded.
