The main problem with female transformers, specifically with the toys, is that they often suffer from lackluster engineering. Because they want to maintain the female body shape, they are limited to a stick frame that can't be incorporated into the vehicle mode, so the females often end up as shellformers or close to it, with a ton of kibble hanging off of them. I point to Korea bot here >>152299114 as an example as most of her car hood is just a back pack, though I will give her credit as she's one of the few transforming vehicle bots I've seen that use their thighs in the alt mode.
And btw, there are exceptions to what i said about fembots, but they are few.

She has less kibble than 95% of Hasbro made fembots.

Its hard to nake everyone happy. You also have worry about at least giving fembots a slim waist and wide hips. And articulstion fags piss and moan if the figure doesnt have a full range of motion. AND you have to account for the shadow of the bay movies still looming over the franchise so all new toys have to have that same transforming philosophy using shell bits and tabs and bots kond of fold up inside of the shell bits that tab together.

Given all that, its hard to make everyone happy.

I get you though. I agree that some of the new fembots are cop outs. They should have released the takara Legends arcee for the ss86 arcee. The 86 is just a figure with a car shell. It was high budget, and that high budget was incredibly poorly managed which lead to a lifeless setting and disappearing cast of characters. It's writing was also below par for serious action cartoons of the era being closer to the wild inconsistency of Thundercats 2011 than stuff like SBT, tron uprising, AtLA or the DCAU. The only people who hype up prime are midwits who fell for it's epic/mature aesthetic.
