Vampirella is an attractive woman.
>>
>>152349019
There is an allure to the art we see of her. Something more flesh-and-blood than you'd expect from a comic.

Thanks for reading and bumping. We have only 3 issues left! Also here's the poll from last week, if anyone is still interested: https://strawpoll.com/PKgleOkeRZp. Have a nice day.
>>
>>152350775
Thanks so much for Warren's Vampi! Truly looking forward to the next 3, but with a touch of sadness that it will be over...Really hoping you will continue the story with her "cousin" or "uncle". Distribution was hit or miss in my area for the Warren mags, lucky to find them on the newsstand, and lucky to get 2 issues in a row, so to be able to see all the issues I missed all those decades ago, has been a real blessing! I wish I could convey how much joy your efforts have given me. A mere thank you seems to fall short, but it's all I have, so thank you for all you do!

Weird question: when exactly did Warren know the books were going to be canceled? >>152348412 mentions that they were getting ready to launch a prequel strip series about a young Vampirella on her home world. Was the cancellation sudden and without warning? And why did Harris put out a single (admitted all reprint) issue a couple of years later before finally just making a standard comic version of the series?
>>
Great stuff, thanks for the storytime!

Reading bump.
>>
>>152353308
No idea really, but my 2 cents worth, when they started losing money. I do know publishers would put out an issue for copyright reasons. If a character they owned hadn't been used for a while, they'd put something out, even if it was crap, just so they could say it was published. I'm no expert, but I remember reading somewhere Marvel did it's "one shots" for that reason; Howard the Duck and some of their western characters being some that come to mind right now, were put out for that reason...and "mind' is right, this is all coming from memory...
>>
>>152358398
Some still do, but not nearly as many.

I think they wanted to test the waters and see if they could continue the original magazine. I guess it wasn't successful, so Harris decided to do normal comics

fr tho

>>152350775
Thank you. This was fun.

>>152348382
>Vampirella
Such a pretty name~
>>
>>152353308
It was sudden and without warning, Warren going out of business. Also, the all reprint postscript "final issues" Harris published of Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella in the mid/late 80s sold very badly, and there were some major legal issues involving Warren Publishing claiming that the properties were sold prematurely as the company has a grace period to pay their debtors to keep the properties, which was not honored. Supposedly this is why Harris brought back Vampi as a comic (to bring in cash for the lawsuit) and that the buyback clause was only for Eerie and Creepy, which led to a settlement where Harris kept Vampirella but Warren got ownership of Creepy and Eerie back in the early 00s.
