The atheist takeaway of YHWH as a monstrous tyrant comes from contemporary perspectives on the characterization of God within the Bible narrative as if it were a singular and designed as such from go.

The "reason" why God is a huge asshole in the OT/Torah is because the current Bible we have today is in fact a Frankenstein's monster of various stories and tradition from the Middle East over a thousand years ago. Going to take this thread as an opportunity to blog post. I'm depressed by how bad my memory is as it pertains to media. I hate my life, so I use escapism to obtain joy. I read Preacher as a teenager (maybe 16 or 17), I am now 26 and I can barely remember anything about it. I remember the MC's power, his vampire on again, off again friend, who at some point betrays him, the military guy and, Assface. I remember there was some arc where the MC was a sheriff in a small town after he got his eye injury and, the military guy almost getting raped in a crawlspace by rednecks, but past that I remember next to nothing despite reading this entire comic. This disturbs me deeply, its not just Preacher, but most everything I've read and watched past 3 or so years in the past. Is this due to speedreading and not taking the time to try and remember the details? Am I simply retarded for caring at all?
