How come there isn't a single person in america who watched this show and Penguins of Madagascar more often than Rocko's Modern Life and Hey Arnold when they were a kid? Were people just not watching as much TV by late 2007-2009?

Those cartoons belong to two different generations of kids

It feels like though kids born in the 2000s watched Rocko and Hey Arnold more than Barnyard and Penguins, even though they were in the demographic when Barnyard and Penguins were new. Nobody ever talks about Barnyard and Penguins these days and nobody remembers anything specific from them either.
>>
>>152369640
You’re seeing bots that have been posting the same thing for 10 years, people your age are sharing Barnyard FTM yaoi on Discord
>>
>>152369876
I really doubt it. I've actually seen people say Rocko's Modern Life was their childhood. I never see people say this for Barnyard.
>>
>>152369640
The worst cartoon ever.
>>
>>152369891
To be fair I see a lot more love for Penguins but Barnyard kids exist, they post fanart. I don’t really know where they would congregate though, could be Youtube or Tiktok.

Barnyard isn't even in the Top 20, you crazy

Nick splat logo, my beloved...

>>152369640
I watched Barnyard mostly Penguins more than the other two. Those were never on when I was watching tv
>>
>>152370177
You should rewatch it. It’s a decently funny show.
>>
>>152370974
Wasn't Hey Arnold like really popular though? I'm pretty sure reruns still aired on main Nick til 2005.
>>
>>152371165
and I know Arnold was on that Nicktoons channel most didn't have, but again most didn't have it and after early 2008, Hey Arnold basically almost never aired on TV ever again unless it was at 1AM in a old school Nick block on Teennick.
>>
Why does /co/ have so many threads like this, echoes of previous threads with one part of the subject changed if not the exact same thread twice? Are the schizos just bored?
>>
>>152369640
What was the last Nicktoon to get popular? Avatar: The Last Airbender? That was back in 2005! Loud House doesn't count, because it's only popular for current Nick's standards.

By 2007 most Hey Arnold viewers were in middle/high school and outside of Barnyard and Penguins age range. Ironically Hey, Arnold would probably still be enjoyable to them at that age
>>
>>152371218
What makes Hey Arnold a show with middle/high school appeal?

Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of early middle schoolers watched iCarly. That shows core target demo seemed to be aged 9 to 12 and 12 year olds are considered middle school age, as well as 11 since one begins middle school often when they're still 11 (6th grade).

Hey Arnold has chill music, more down to earth and relatable characters, appealing animation, and a less manic sense of humor. You also have the occasional emotional beat and ongoing plots like Arnold's parents and Helga's crush. A kid who watched it in the late nineties/early 2000s would be able to go back and see it's clearly more entertaining than Barnyard and Penguins.
>>
>>152371547
I agree with that. I wasn't alive in the 90s, but I love Hey Arnold's chill vibe and how funny it can be without being manic. I used to wish I was alive in the 90s at one point.

According to Nielsen this era was their peak, the only single thing that outdid the iCarly era was the All Growed Up episode of Rugrats but that was an exception
>>
Back at Barnyard is a zoomer show.
Hey Arnold is a millennial show, unless your parents made enough to afford Nicktoons as a channel rather than just Nickelodeon.
>>
>>152369640
I did. As a Gen Z'er, this and Penguins were my favorite cartoons when they were airing. I think both of them are better than Rocko. Maybe not Hey Arnold, which I quite enjoyed but I had to catch that one on streaming because they never liked replaying their old shows for some retarded reason.

Nicktoons is why. Just like how Cartoon Network used to rerun their classics on Boomerang. The Big 3 loved charging a premium on nostalgia.

Hey Arnold didn't even air on Nicktoons after 2008 and again, Hey Arnold was still on Nick regularly until late 2005. Pretty sure zoomers born in 1999 and 2000 would remember it. I was born in 2000 and I have very vague memories of Hey Arnold from when it was on Nick.

>>152372509
It was the peak of Nick, only because iCarly was a smash hit that rivaled SpongeBob in ratings. That and Fairly OddParents was still doing really well with the Fairly OddBaby special doing incredibly well.

Main Nick channel reran Rugrats at 7AM during early 2011 on weekdays believe it or not. Ironically, despite Boomerang mainly having Dexter and Powerpuff exclusive to that channel aside from rare instances here and there like Powerpuff Girls having an all day marathon in 2009, Ed Edd n Eddy reran consistently on Cartoon Network until 2012 and never even once aired on Boomerang until 2014.
>>
>>152372744
Oh, and Courage while it was on Boomerang here and there, usually during Halloween, but also for a few months in late 2009/early 2010 and late 2010/early 2011, it was mainly on Cartoon Network more than it was Boomerang for a long while. Boomerang didn't really feel like airing Courage usually. The only show Boomerang felt like airing consistently that also aired on Cartoon Network consistently was Tom & Jerry.

Would you say Fairly OddParents is a millennial show or a zoomer show? Fairly OddParents was still big on Nickelodeon even in 2008 with Fairly OddBaby being a huge thing that year. And would you say SpongeBob is a millennial show or a zoomer show? SpongeBob actually took up more of Nick's schedule in 2007-2009 than it did during say, 2004.

One of the funniest things ever is finding out how Israel really loves Back at the Barnyard, to the point where they have sub vs dub debates over it.

Lolwut?

>>152372787
FOP is both, though primarily zoomercore just due to how long it ran, but millenialcore for its best years. SpongeBob at this point is multigenerational, so there's really no main group to attribute it to. Though like FOP, its best written years were also early, but with how Nick does reruns for the Sponge, everyone probably experienced them firsthand countless times.

>>152369640
Did anyone know Back at the Barnyard was actually by the same writing staff as Jimmy Neutron?
>>
>>152369640
What was always weird about Nick was waking up at 6AM to find shows one would have thought were removed from Nick. All Grown Up aired at 6AM until 2013. I'm not joking. If All Grown Up was on, it meant one woke up too early.
>>
>>152369857
Barnyard gets remembered for being absolutely bat shit insane, while Penguins at least played into the belief that they're the best part of the Madagascar films (plus the Kowalski toothbrush meme).
>>
>>152369640
Why did a lot of people hate Barnyard and Penguins back then? Don't believe me? There were so many "Nick sucks now" videos back in 2009 on YouTube. These people liked wacky weird shows like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko, Angry Beavers, and CatDog, yet they hated these two shows. I even recall people saying Barnyard was retarded and Ren and Stimpy was better.

Proto transmissionary garbage.

>Hey Arnold has chill music, more down to earth and relatable characters, appealing animation, and a less manic sense of humor.
This is why it will always be seen as superior to Butch's Nicktoons and The Loud House

On top of the humor not being as annoying the character designs are more appealing than those other shows. More detailed and lacking the sharp edges Butch's stuff has
