Putting manga in there is cheating.

Playing by his rules, the top 10 best comics I read in 2025 were
>Tokyo These Days by Taiyo Matsumoto
>Land of the Lustrous by Haruko Ichikawa
>Mage: The Hero Discovered by Matt Wagner
>Sunday by Olivier Schrauwen
>Dungeon Meshi by Ryoko Kui
>Elektra: Assassin by Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz
>Marshal Law: Deluxe Edition by Pat Mills and Kevin O'Neill
>Zoc by Jade Khoo
>The Great Beyond by Lea Murawiec
>Cutting Season by Bhanu Pratap
I did not enjoy Tongues by Anders Nilsen, Drome by Jesse Lonergan, or any of the superhero stuff I picked up this year except for Dark Patterns a little. I'm still reading Absolute Martian Manhunter, but I haven't caught up and I'm not liking it beyond the art.

There are almost no comic readers here, guy. This is a fool's errand.

I have read 17/32 of the titles on the list (53%). Some of those are only partial reads (for instance I'm still waiting to get my hands on the second half of Ginseng Roots) but enough to judge in each instance.

Here's my own top 10 comics I read in 2025. For the record, I didn't find it a particularly good year. Non-2025 releases are marked with a * (to the best of my recollection):
> Tokyo These Days by Taiyo Matsumoto*
> Tongues by Anders Nilsen
> Sunday by Olivier Schrauwen*
> Buff Soul by Moa Romanova
> Blurry by Dash Shaw*
> Tower Dungeon by Tsutomu Nihei
> Spent by Alison Bechdel
> The Solitary Gourmet by Masayuki Kusumi and Jiro Taniguchi
> NOW #13 by Fantagraphics*
> Plain Jane and the Mermaid by Vera Brosgol*
Incidentally, thanks for posting this OP. It is extremely based to see others aware of Seth T. Hahne. He and Zainab Akhtar are the only critics I've encountered who read the amount and breadth as I do and appreciate the same things.
Also, I'm confident that >>152373688 is a fool and that Tongues is absolutely Seth's favourite 2025 comic and not just "throwing a bone". I also find differentiating comics and manga in this particular context useless and I've seen many others on this board who agree. You know which ones are comics and which are manga, if you really want to you can separate them yourself.

Seth "Bendis Lover" Hahne is a pretty useful idiot. Found a lot of good comics from his blog.
>>152373081
If these I've read.
>>2. Land Of The Lustrous by Haruko Ichikawa
>>6. The Once And Future Riot by Joe Sacco
>>7. Drome by Jesse Lonergan
>>8. A Bride's Story by Kaoru Mori
>>10. Garden Of Spheres by Linea Sterte
>>18. Bones And Berserkers by Nathan Hale
>>26. The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store by Tsuchika Nishimura
>>28. They Were 11! by Moto Hagio
I'll get to around to Tongues and Ginger Roots eventually but I haven't really liked what I've read from thos artists. Linea Sterte is probably top 10 currently working artists in comics. Daemons is much more bland then Arakawa's previous workand I already found FMA very middlingbut Seth only likes select action series. Haven't read anything by Dahm in awhile so that intrigues me a lot.

No, it's not. I already talked comics in this thread. Anon is complaining about the thread that was made for us to talk comics because it's attached to some literal who, but not actually talking comics.

Tongues also topped the 2025 list of the autist who concatenates everybody else's Best Comics lists. Here's his top ten:
>1. Tongues - Anders Nilsen
>2. Absolute Martian Manhunter - Deniz Camp & Javier Rodriguez
>3. Absolute Batman - Scott Snyder & Nick Dragotta
>4. Absolute Wonder Woman - Kelly Thompson & Hayden Sherman
>5. The Power Fantasy - Kieron Gillen & Caspar Wijngaard
>6. Spent - Alison Bechdel
>7. The Once and Future Riot - Joe Sacco
>8. Assorted Crisis Events - Deniz Camp & Eric Zawadzki
>9. Drome - Jesse Lonergan
>10. Do Admit: The Mitford Sisters and Me - Mimi Pond

I'm butthurt about the squandered opportunity, if anything. I don't care about that faggot. Too many fellow comic readers turn up their noses at most comic threads and then tell you about it. So many comic threads with potential for discussion die like this. Meanwhile, we're getting drowned the fuck out by effortless spam. Stop letting the cartoonfags walk all over you.

I found Tongues to be middling. Hahne also fellates Duncan the Wonder Dog constantly, which is similarly middling.
