Like the other anon said, DiDio has been gone for years now, they've had multiple opportunities to bring him back, but they haven't, partly because Alfred really isn't that crucial to Batman stories once you really think about it, and partly because since they killed him, they might as well explore the fallout of that for a while, see how the dynamic of the Bat-Family changes and how the characters cope with his death.

That makes little sense, it's not like Damian was being sloppy on purpose, he simply got unlucky and didn't notice Zeller was there.
The one who was sloppy was Bruce on that date, she could have figured out Bruce was Batman by that alone if she was not that dense as she turned out.
Plus: Yelling at your kid is harsh, basically calling them stupid beyond comprehension and destroying an object in anger right in front of them goes way beyond that. Especially since Damian clearly had already understood he messed up, his knuckles were bleeding. Bruce taught him nothing, he only achieved that his son is now feeling even worse and probably feels deeply uncomfortable around him. Bruce is about to be very alone if he keeps acting like this now that Tim left.

And even if this was true, it just shows that Fraction knows basically nothing about Damian. Damian has been around the world, he quit as Robin before to explore himself and his issues far away from Bruce, when he returned to Bruce he still made it clear he was still his own person with his own plans outside of Gotham and for the last year in PKJ's run Damian's arc was all about finding balance between being Robin, being Bruce's son outside of their mantles and helping at the hospital.

It's not about the status quo. It was how it was done. Alfred's death was for shock value and done in the most distasteful way possible while Bruce gets his ass clapped by the great Catwoman. You can see why Tom killed him and it was so that Catwoman would be the most important person in Bruce’s life now that Dick was shot and he pushed everyone away. Tim coming out of the closet was because the writers didn't bother to develop his character. It's like someone said in the other thread. He was turned gay to boost sales and trot him out once a year in Pride specials, but that didn't work, so they will take him out of stories and plots and bring him back, because Batman will once again be written as incompetent.
