Now it's taking so long the captcha is expiring before the post can go through. Might have to try again later.

I really love how Abnett is writing Darkhawk, and there's some really damn good stuff for Carol too. Abnett is in his element here especially with Gamora.
Still not really feeling Cho or Frank on the team but they're not bad or anything. Just sorta there

>This July, Marvel Comics is celebrating Rocket Raccoon’s 50th birthday in a special anthology one-shot. Featuring covers by Ryan Stegman, David Baldeon, and Mike Mignola, they’re going out in style!
>Follow the heavily armed rapscallion as he blazes new trails in locations both new and familiar across the following stories:
>Rocket Raccoon encounters a mysterious galactic book collector before coming face-to-face with the one-and-only Rocky Raccoon (wait, what?!) in a brain-bending tale from writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Shawn McManus.
>In “BoomShakaLaka,” MacKenzie Cadenhead and Enid Balám take Rocket to a paradise planet full of good vibes and an immensely powerful artifact that’s just begging to be stolen by a cybernetically enhanced creature with a bad attitude. Know anybody like that?
Christos Gage and Todd Nauck set out to prove that size does matter in “The Fight in the Raccoon,” featuring an odd-couple team-up of Hank Pym and Rocket as they fight back a massive invasion force in Sub-Atomica!
>Plus, the original debut of Rocket by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen!

Gage can write a good Hank, so that should be interesting
I kinda surprised Ewing didn't get a story since he's written a decent amount of Rocket in recent years
>the original debut of Rocket by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen!
I feel this has been reprinted tons

He is one of Marvel's longest-used artists. He did do quite a bit, I'm kinda surprised they mention ROM in the obituary page would have thought the Hasbro license would have stopped that, it's not like they mention his Conan work

I didn't like that they decided to make all the villains just black versions of existing characters. It was lazy
They could have played with the cosmic setting more, gone with alien versions of old BP characters who've been forgotten

>gone with alien versions of old BP characters who've been forgotten
Like who?
Salamander K’Ruel from Jungle Action?
Or Solomon Prey from that 80s mini maybe?
outside of Man-Ape and Killmonger, no one knows anything about BP's Villains or thinks them too outdated to use

You could tell the idea was to have the first six issues have Black Panther fighting a different villain with the reveal that it was their melinated robot counterpart and then somewhere around 2 or 3 LaSalle was informed the series was now 4 issues

Them being Outdated is the point
It's like how they used Space Wakanda to create new versions of M'Baku and Nakia to be more in line with the MCU versions
It's an excuse to recycle old names and concepts, and update them however you want to be cooler
Off the top of my head there's Queen Zanda and Madam Slay and Hunter the White Wolf
