Sometimes. I don't have a strict process, I just know the tools and take whatever shortcuts I need to save time. For a rough picture I'm gonna reprocess later anyway blobs are good, if I want something less randomized I just add detail and process at lower denoise and more controlnet strength.

I don't use img2img as much as I use controlnet anytest, but sometimes I use both.

I am back with my results. I am still trying to figure things out, what style I like and so on.
After doing some testing, I decided to do two separate generations to see how consistent I can be with the style.
I opted for something more painterly as opposed to heavy line art. I started with something blob-ish like you did, then img2img and then painted in PS in rotation. It's neat though!

I am using xavier_v10 Checkpoint and a Shade Slider Lora to minimize the overdone shading ai tends to do.
Not using anything else though. If you have any tips or recommendations to what I should look out for, I'd greatly appreciate it. Regardless, your process was pretty cool to see.

I am not a big clit fan like you are, but I'd thought I'd pay my respects.

Here are the blobs in question. I learned pretty quick that SD will take things very literally, so if I have any stray strokes, it accidentally interprets it as an extra finger or clothing element or something (depending on the strength of the denoise).

Style consistency is more stable with base models and few if any artist and style tags such as color and shading stuff, the drawback is of course you're stuck with base model style.

I don't know how to describe it other than img2img but better. Blob > im2gimg requires high denoise which can destroy the sketch's instructions, the flat color will also influence style. Use this controlnet thing instead, it doesn't require pre-processing, just feed it an image of the same dimensions or aspect ratio and you're ready to go. You can also mask it so it works as some sort of reverse compositional inpaint, like if you want the same pic but to randomize a hand you can mask everything but the hand, nifty stuff.
You can use it on text or combine it with img2img, or even perform highly controlled inpaints.

IMO this is an invaluable tool for people with an artist or editor background, since you can transform quick edits into complex instructions with little to no tweaking.
Just try it and you'll think img2img is caveman shit. Trust me on this one and just give it a try

I am getting some really mixed results. When I give it a blob, it's pretty decent depending on the control weight, but it's not really following the prompt. I tried text2img which was pure chaos, and then img2img which was better but I had to have the denoise a lot higher or lower the control weight a lot.
In a way it seems to operate on it's own accord and not really following the base model - at least that is what it's feeling like right now.
The way I kind of treated img2img was more like "render this for me" and then I continue where it left off and do a back and forth. Sometimes I would take specific crops in photoshop, throw it in the webui, generate what I liked in a balanced denoise and then put it back in photoshop in a sort of collage style and that turns out to be pretty good as it doesn't change the shape or silhouette much, I've got examples but it's not big clit related and I'd just start spamming the board with unrelated shit.
There is a lot of options for control net too that I am not sure 'what does what'.
Do you have any resources that helped you for the specific process you do?

If it's not tracing the stuff even without prompt then something is fundamentally fucked with the setup. Anytest should be the exact opposite of.

Pic related, default settings, 1 stength, 1 endstep, balanced.
Middle is a blank prompt, Right is like 6 context tags + some style tags, your should be able to get cleaner results randomized to your liking by prompting more accurately and fucking with strength, endstep and all the other stuff, but if you're not getting this without trying then it's not working properly

I use forge. I haven't use style tags before. I tried neromashin one time but it looked nothing like it, in fact it wasn't even close (though style isn't as important as the render is, because if one has a particular render style vs other generations, it becomes trickier to fix shit). Don't waste your time on me - I've found the issue. The control net model was incompatible with the illustrious checkpoint, even though the controlnet model was for illustrious - so I tried a different model, and it works like it should - at least far more accurate and consistent now.

I see. It's not a bug it's more so a feature. Anytest will treat blank areas as fair game for randomization, it will also ignore color, which allows it to, for example, use a b&w or monochrome sketch and fully color it, whereas img2img would retain the colorlesness. If you want to retain or control colors and some "blankness" you can use anytest on img2img at 0.8-1 denoise. This will noise up the whole image but retain enough smudge so to speak to keep the colors in.
Anytest is also good for style and composition transfers. You can for example, give it a photo and it'll work it into an artstyle of your choice, or even swap a character for another while img2img would retain more of the source realism

The reason it ungreens the character is because that model probably struggles with greenskins off the bat, and without color instructions it defaults to a pale skintone.

Get some sleep and play with the settings some other time.
Strength is self explanatory, Endstep works as a release controlnet, If you check the pic here >>11458414 on the right, at 1 str and 1 endstep it traces the linework almost perfectly. We could change this by using something like endstep 0.6, which means anytest will burn the source into the gen 60% of the way, and then switch off, remaining detail applied freely. This can unrough a sketch but retain the most important parts. If you just want to copy a pose or an angle, you can go 0.2-0.3

I have playing more with Control Net and I am starting to understand the vision and I've had more success with different experiments. I think one thing I've come to terms with is that depending on the checkpoint and lora, I can't just shoehorn something that the AI doesn't understand or something that is uncommon.
I've also had more success with Control Net line art and Reference with rough colored sketches - It's surprisingly good at giving me a template to continue rendering from.

I also did Control Net with T2I which is also quite strong if you know what to use it for.

I think the only thing I might want to do is to consider a good checkpoint and a good Lora that makes it more easily "editable" if you get what I mean. I can paint digitally quite well, it's just that when the AI produces images that has a shit ton of gradients and smooth shading, it becomes a bit of a headache to make changes.
It's a general question, but do you have recommendations for any LoRa that compliments a checkpoint? I use some Illustrious models at the moment - I like the look but sometimes the faces gets too anime for my liking.
Another more specific question: Should one always use a LoRa that is trained on a specific model or can they overlap - For example; can a LoRa trained on Illustrious work with a Pony model? I am asking because sometimes I can't quite tell if it's working or not.

I apologize in advance if these questions are noobish, It's just that the information online is very scattered and sometimes outdated.
