Nah, he's right. It feels exactly the same. In the old road one goblin has his dick out, and that's it, dogs and brigands look the same and have the same skills, just renamed, scenery is the same, curios are the same. And it continues with ruins. Later you will encounter unique enemies, but that will be probably hours into starting the mod. Even thematic stuff like pregnancies feels wrong. I get that if every enemy had a grab it would feel like ass to play, but at least you aren't getting pregnant from bukkake.

Another issue is that it's difficult to have "scenes" in DD since it's not intended to be a hentai game, so anything lewd ends up as flavor text or a custom combat animation. I think you would probably want to move closer to a total conversion mod that can support that kind of thing while keeping DD combat. Most of the work in the mod is creating the assets anyway so I think that can probably be done later or for a future game. In general probably have a look at ST Hot Dog King's work to see what is possible without creating a custom animation for every combination of player characters and debuffs. E.g. Para Ark 2 displays a generic-ish animation for every attack and only has some minor variation between participants. And there's a new exit8-style game he's making atm where he's experimenting with a physics engine that allows you to incorporate any size asset into a scene. There's a lot you could improve, but I get that the current state of LLE is probably due to limitations of what is easy and what is hard within the constraints of DD vs a custom engine.

It sounds like you hadn't yet played much beyind the early game. Fortunately this is a problem that 1.9 aims to address: Much of the lewd content is in the mid and late game, with the early game left pretty bare bones.

I plan on adding more lewd content to the early game so folks who only want to dip their toes in get to see things too. Pic related, for instance, is the first big tutorial enemy becoming a lewd enemy with a grab attack.

Generally speaking, over time, LLE is just going to constantly have more and more stuff added to it.

It's functional. Seems survival focused due to hunger and torch running out, which isn't my thing. Graphics are serviceable. Didn't stick around long enough to find the h-scene.

Click to move is nice in theory, but incredibly annoying when you want the MC to move south/down because there's less screen in that direction due to perspective. Maybe zoom out a bit or make zoom/MC position on screen adjustable. Hold mouse to move is also great in theory, but when you gotta mouse over things and click them to examine, breaks the flow of movement. Just my immediate thoughts at a glance.

Thanks for the quick feedback. It's quite a challenge to strike the right camera balance, if it's too high the upright props get forshortened and kinda break the 2.5d illusion, too low it's hard to move south like you said. I forgot to mention but you can zoom-out using the scroll wheel, and alternatively you can move with WASD, I'll certainly experiment with the camera some more. As for the examining things while on the move, maybe I won't have the MC stop just to yap.

I like how it looks. The girl looks nice, as well as the area. Idk if it's the coloring or what, but it's comfy for me. This angled 2D-3D view is nice too.
At first it took me a while to figure out what to do and I didn't even notice the chest and other areas below at the start. I just ran upwards and was like "where is everything? I can't build anything with no rocks and sticks".
But yeah, I think it seems fine so far. Maybe an increase in run speed? Though, I could just like moving fast. An option to sleep at night might be nice too. I was just standing around the campfire at night as I waited for the sun to rise. Hunger went down as I waited by the fire too, so maybe sleeping would help avoid loss of hunger during such a moment too? Or maybe reduced hunger while asleep?
Was the H scene the [spoiler]goblin[/spoiler]? I noticed him by the house thing and noped out fast.
Do you have any other planned uses for rocks? If the only use for rocks is to become sharpened rocks, it feels like that extra step is a waste of time.

Ok, decided to attack the goblin since I had a spear. Was kinda hard to click him for fighting. I noticed this with the trees too, that it can be kinda hard to know where to click. Maybe have some kinda circle appear when you're hovering over the correct spot so it's more clear where the clickbox is at?
Also, if the goblin beats and rapes you, you're left with 1 health and a goblin that'll chase you to the ends of the earth. Not sure how one is supposed to escape that loop.

In general, it looks good to me.

If you are planning to create a parody of D**** S***ve I guess the focus of the game-play is going to be exploration, and base building autism.
The problem is that, in Female MC games, overcoming obstacles is easy without GOR: just get raped and move on. So you either implement GOR, or soft game over mechanics (i.e. a rape loop) to punish the player for not using the correct mechanics/knowledge... if you don't want to do any of that you can also turn the main character into a trap when she receives a creampie.
As for the base-building part, you can add a pregnancy system so if you even if you "lose" you gain a free worker. To prevent abuse you can either add more resource management or progressive transformations that end in a game over.
You should also add long-term goals to give the player an incentive to go outside and get raped.

If you want to lean into the lewd Don't Starve idea, especially with the base-building, gathering resources, surviving attacks, etc. then having the only way to unlock lewd content be sabotaging yourself is going to be very difficult to make it work as an actual game.

This might be an unpopular take, but if you want to stick with the gameplay angle you're going for, it might fit better with a dom PC than a sub PC: The player gathers food to survive, resources to build tools and shelter, and encounters creatures - some of which need to be killed, and some of which can be subdued, broken, and made to work for the player. Don't have time to manage all your berry bushes? Burn down a goblin village and put those shortstacks to work. Looking to diversify your diet? Catch a harpy to supply you with fresh eggs. Sick of legging it across the map? Snag a centaur and break her in. This makes it more straightforward to build lewd content into the game since you're just taking advantage of resources in your base instead of having to constantly get killed, and could also provide a basis for regular raids by hostile mobs - members of some of the creatures you capture attack to try and break their kind free.

Anyways, just a thought. Basic look is good, not a lot of 2.5 games so it's kind of neat. Tried the WASD controls and they're a little easier than the point-and-click. You might want to set it up to have it so key presses will auto-do things based on what you have equipped and what's nearby (ex. if you're next to a tree and have the axe equipped and hold space you go and start cutting it down, or if there's something nearby that can be picked up you pick it up). Point and click stuff can get very very fiddly.

I guess i could say that the main character looks cute, the world is too desolate, legit couldn't find any material to build a second torch or make anything really, then was left in complete darkness.

I was like that on my first go. On my second go, I saw there was two other areas below, one with rocks, and one with a forest. You can go to either to get some more items.

I added some changes based on feedback to improve the player controller. I am also glad the art is being received well (solodev btw).

1. you can now automatically gather nearby resources by pressing space.
2. added an attack button so you don't have to click on the enemies every time. you can even do sweaty gamer moves like animation cancelling to kill things faster
3. made the character a bit more expressive when doing some actions

As for all the suggestions/complaints regarding crafting, daynight cycle, biomes, yeah it's definitely bad and unbalanced right now and is certainly not final.

The sub stuff is mostly related to hazards around the world or what is thrown at you if you're not prepared, you still will be generally exploiting the world as your base becomes more sophisticated. Of course I don't want to gimp the player by intentionally seeking out punishments and losing. One idea is having the player collect friendly versions of hazards that you can place down in your base and potentially giving you buffs when interacted with. They can be obtained through some criteria like defeating the original hazard x amount of times or using an item on it. That way you can kind of build up your own gallery.

I'm not leaning too hard into the puzzle aspect. It's mostly just.

Modeling, animation, and player control in the game engine are in. Working on destructible items and level building next.

There's not really rape in the mod based on what little I've played. The girls go to the sex dungeons to have orgies and willingly fuck everything there, that's not getting raped.
When I said the game is too much for me, I meant its just all sex, you don't fight enemies, you have sex with them. Everything is about sex, stun has been renamed to orgasming, stress is lust and even your food is fucking cum. Skills are renamed to eat a dick or whatever too. This is what I meant with too much, not the amount of content.
I'd want to see the girls go into the dungeon and actually fight enemies normally, not by rubbing their dicks. The enemies then would have some new moves like the grabs where they start fucking the girl which would increase stress, not lust. Maybe an affliction where the girl actually wants to get fucked by whatever, some stds and quirks, etc.. You'd have the normal supply items and some new lewd trinkets.
With light version I meant that not everything would be about sex and what sex it would have would be in few camp skills, brothel and getting raped.
The UI is horrible too. All the color has been taken away and turned pink instead. Everything is just pink and grey.
If the dev dropped just the enemies with their grab attacks as separate mod I'd be happy with that, just not interested in the full mod.

This is a google document containing all planned changes coming in 1.9 -- including a massive rewrite of all the old content from the original Lustiest Lair.

It includes the following:

Lilith's Throne's mad libs stuff isn't perfect, but it's good enough as a baseline. Even generic attackers get plenty of features. It's better than CoC2 and TiTS needing every feature to be individually written and implemented by the character's writer. A lot of TiTS' characters lack even basic features like pregnancy and/or impregnation.

Innoxia's good at making a porn game that is hot and fun, but ridiculously bad at managing development of a software product. There's not really a "better". There are reasons to use either.
Probably most relevant to the thread, present tense makes things more immediate and so tends to be favored in games where you are conveying things that are happening to the player character right now. It is also often employed in action-y novels where it can emphasize that and put the reader directly into the narrator's head in the moment things are happening.
Past tense, by contrast, reads like a journal. It's like the narrator is telling you about something that happened after it has already happened. That tends to come with the implication of hindsight and so tends to be favored by more contemplative works, or ones where you want to be able to smoothly transition between expository narration and internal monologue.

Lets try something for this thread to generate discussion. Reply to this post with a /d/ game you recently played (preferably a game that doesn't get harped on endlessly here already) and wanted to share your thoughts about, it doesn't have to be a review or anything substantial.


For my part I want to vent about Rise of Corruption (pic related) which is a game I feel conflicted about. The main premise of the game is that you're playing as the classic JRPG evil lord, after the last one was recently defeated you chance upon his legacy and claim it, using corruption powers on various girls for lewd stuff while you build your power. Overall the game has a good grasp of how to properly do the corruption as the various heroines incrementally go through stages of increasingly moral and sexual degradation, culminating in a final choice that sees them all willingly decide that the person they've become is better for them than what they used to be, a good resolution and exploration of how this kind of transformation should occur, with various types, a pure priestess forsaking her faith that never answered her for a temporal power that's manifest, an upright girl fighting for justice becoming disillusioned when the stupidity of those who fight with her endangers everyone else etc. There's even fun roleplay in what type of evil overlord you want to be, a more benevolent kind who entices with honeyed words, or the caricature evil smash that kills everyone and fun side stuff like building up your own religion, establishing a gestapo.

But in a lot of ways the game really lacks polish, using koikatsu being the most obvious sign, which i can put up with but it still makes the game feel lacking, using a very basic RPGmaker style, a completely generic battle and very often being buggy at that, constant typos that stands out and just needed a bit of editing to see fixed, it really hampers what is conceptually something that really appeals to all my kinks.

Fellow corruption enjoyer, I see. I have similar thoughts about Darkstar - it also offers a villain roleplay with you either relishing in or resenting being strong-armed into using the corrupting macguffin on women, and a familiar theme about whether corrupting them is better for the girls in the long run. On the other hand, shitty 3D, bugs gallore, the author having no idea what the gameplay is supposed to be (the prologue has a lengthy first-person dungeon exploration, then it was briefly flirting with SRPG battles, then running around for events...) and it's getting updated every half a year.
Branded to Fall is a relatively recent project, and it's showing promise. It's one of the "Couple gets corrupted separately" stories that seems to be growing in number, but it doens't raiload you into being a doormat slut immediately. It has some RPG Maker running around, but thankfully, no battles. The corruption routes are decently varied (For example, the female MC main paths are: Demon who finds loopholes around a deal about not touching her; her boyfriend's ashole blackmailing rival; older noble very interested in elves; his racist nepobaby who pays her to degrade herself; lesbian vampire who manipulates her into a blood bond and a friendly guard captain who's cursed into becoming increasingly rapey futa). There's not a lot to complain about the game, beyond some events occasionally acting weirdly, and the author is really active and regularly releasing updates. PASEC is crap. It's buggy and is mostly designed to waste your time. Enemies are damage sponges, everything takes ages to repair, the layout is confusing, rescuing survivors is a time sink, and even the sex scenes are crap. Played through crimson veil again since the hunter route got an ending. Pretty impressively good character writing outside some main/side story disconnect. Well, and main/main disconnect counting bianca. Final dungeon has a lot of nits to pick but the general vibe of even the parts I didn't like were that the dev was clearly experimenting on making it the biggest and most exciting thing so far.
Leveling system is the worst I remember seeing, and I say that while replaying Oblivion. When I check out the vampire route once it's finished in 5 years I'll just save edit to max level because fuck doing that again.

Oh shit somebody noticed. I only re-drew the large variant cause it looked bad to me and was messing up some of the more elaborate animations thanks to z-ordering. If I ever figure out a way around this, a huge variant could be considered.

The clock is nice. The automatic herb gathering and attacking was a great addition. The effect after eating the slime was a cute surprise.

When hovering over the bottom left menu, some of the text might not be visible (though it's likely obvious to most that it's saying "LMB"). When wearing the button suit, particularly with the normal breast size, when moving to the left, it seems some skin shows around the leg and butt intersection.
