This op. Most enclosures use 9g chainlink for lions and bears. Black bears climb and claw thought, so make sure that top piece is on tight. If the kennel is smaller the bear will keep flipping it to get to the dogs, so make sure it can withstand it.

Just deterrents. Anything that wants in will get in. A full sized bear can go through it. Yotes can dig under it, as can a determined bear.

The problem you have, anon, is that anything strong enough to keep a bear from going through horizontally is also going to be strong enough for it to climb over.
