I got this shell spiking tensioner device just recently and have been wondering how I should set it up at my desk.

I had this idea to suspend a rod with a spool or two of jute twine or cotton for spiking my rocket headings.
The bucket on the bottom holds glue so the string is pulled through it.

My question is how do I suspend the spools from the desk so it's more robust than this yet easy and quick to break down so I can easily get back to using the motor press in the background?
