What’s the right penetrating spray to remove the cover from the body of my Sloan Regal toilet? This bastard is hard stuck on there. Also will take recommendations for the right tool to unscrew this fucker. I was going to get the Knipex 250mm pliers wrench.

My bastard toilet isn’t flushing right, only a little bit of water at a time and I have to strategically flush it like 6 times to get the water to fully go down. I believe there is something wrong with the flush valve, but I’m coming to you guys cuz I’m certain you know more than me.

A plumber tried to tell me it would cost $2500 to fix and I told him to get lost, cuz no fucking way

This is the pliers wrench I was hoping I’d find locally, don’t want to use Amazon. I sorta wonder if some kind of strap wrench would be better tho, because the screw top (or whatever you call it) is very shallow and it’s difficult to get a good grip on it.

the right tool is an offset spud wrench. but you should be able to get it off with any suitably sized channel locks if you dont care about the chrome finish on the cover.
if you have to replace the entire flush valve instead of just the diaphragm then youll probably need tubing cutters to get the new tailpieces to size.

This, plus a length of pipe for leverage.

Just get a rebuild kit with the same gpf, these sloan toilets are like legos

and make sure you get an actual spud assembly, they will leak when you put it back together if they aren't new
i don't think they're included in the rebuild kit for some insane reason
i use any smooth jaw pliers without issue normally, longer the handles the better
