How do you feel about men's jewelry?
I'd like something special but feel self conscious

Not for me. I don't have cool tanned arms and big hands. I'm pale and my hands look stupidly small with almost tapered fingers. I don't want to bring any attention to my hands. Women already tend to see them and make some sort of mental ineligibility note as if I FOR SURE have no dick based on my hands.
Shallow bitches.

Would you care to elaborate? It's there for a personal reason to remind me of Christ and also holds sentimental value since my deceased mother gave it to me as a confirmation gift. It's not to flaunt, be performative or a style choice.

I think it can look good on a guy that has a more "out there" vibe. If you wanted to go this route id recommend only wearing tasteful, high quality jewelry. Avoid skulls, or anything that looks like its from 2006 era Hot Topic. Religious jewelry is normally never even specifically noticed unless it looks really good or it looks expensive. In order of least to most risky fit; rings>necklace>piercings>bracelets. If you have a facial piercing then its easier to wear more outlandish jewelry.

I only do rings, bracelets complete the look but I have more fun finding and wearing rings. They are more fun to match with each other and the mood of the day. My ring collection is growing but I'm glad it hasn't reached saturation levels which keeps prices reasonable. You can even get gold rings for spot so it's free money with prices going up.

Tell me you are a consumerist swine whose perception of the world is limited to the sensual, carnal and material world without telling me you are a consumerist swine whose perception of the world is limited to the sensual, carnal and material world.
You actually believe Christianity is about believing in a bearded uncle in the sky finger waving at you.

then get something and wear it. you'll probably know what looks tacky and what doesn't if you have bare minimum taste.

>tell me.... without telling me
Really, that's enough of those. Unoriginal and really a bore to see. You don't get to tell me what I "actually believe". The fact that you believe any of that shit instantly makes you 10 times dumber than I am. It's a huge weakness in your mental ability to fall for such silly ancient scams.
How did people like you end up on this website? Really, I'd like to know. Less than ten years you've been here. That much is for certain. But what was it? Did you get booted off traditional social media for your views? What attracted you to this place?
It's just so very strange that a "man of god" would be on this dumb forum righteously defending religious brainwashing. Christians don't act that way. I don't believe any of that shit but I know way more about it than you do. You're doing it all wrong. Turn the other cheek.

Oh great, yet another stupid whore who conditioned their spawn into believing in made-up fairy tales.
Anyway, all that is beside the point. That, yes, you wearing that necklace is absolutely performative, really. One day, that necklace is going to go in the trash or be smelted. Not by you, per se, but it will happen. Such is the fate of all material things.

It's actually a pretty profitable business. Fake casios are not homages like SKMEI watches, they are literal clones being sold as genuine Casio watches and they are dirt cheap to make because modules similar to the one used in the f91w can be bought for pennies

can look fine if your style/wardrobe/lifestyle supports it. can look like a cry for help otherwise. i adore turquoise and the aesthetics of native american jewelry, but i'm not johnny depp or a new mexico ranch owner so something simple like picrel (but 2x or 3x the size) would suit me without looking like a costume. origin of the stone would be meaningful to me as well. i want it from the american southwest, not some chinashit. thanks 4 reading my blog

Silver bracelets and bangles can be very nice, although I've stopped wearing mine regularly since taking up swimming. I like wearing them 24/7 so the constant taking them on and off was enough friction to get me to stop.

To be fair, a wedding ring, a watch, and a crucifix are actually good advice since we're on /fa/ and people's taste here is generally terrible. These constraints prevent them from looking tackier than they are. I've seen far too many guys drop several hundred dollars on ugly Etsy dogshit, and thin chains that make them look like retarded Mexicans.
It really depends on your style, and I haven't seen anyone on this board dress well enough to justify wearing lots of jewelry since Covid. Somewhat surprised at how angry people got at him, drop the cross if you're an atheist, nbd. Doing le epic internet atheism is so passe.

I wouldn't mind some, but I feel like it would have to be something special, like an important gift or something. I don't just want to wear trinkets. Doesn't help that every piece of jewelry I've seen I don't think would look good on me so I just stick to a watch.

>>
>>18628272
i like silver but a lot of silver jewelry is shitty, like the rings in that pic
rough cheap looking shit
however silver has a lot more variety than gold because it's so comparatively cheap to make
when it comes to gold jewelry with high quality standards there's a pretty strict amount of variety in the west. you have cubans, flat curbs, figaros francos ropes as what's super popular then some retro stuff like mariners, hermes links, and when it comes to rings there's much less variety unless you're buying vintage.
as far as what's being produced right now in various sizes it's all basically figaros francos ropes cubans and flat curbs. there's not nearly the same variation in modern rings let alone bangles or bracelets or pendants as you see in silver.
jesus piece, mary, the hamsa, etc.
i tend to like rarer niche pieces like gucci links, signets figaros and japanese stuff
>>
>>18629170
Do you stack them together? What is the length, quality and width?
I have a small 2.5mm 23k chain I regret purchasing. It's beautiful, but I've broken it about 3 times because it's too delicate. Thinking of going 14k or 18k next purchase.

I like it but I don't care to the point of buying one for me.
I do got a question though. I've got this silver chain from father who died when I was a kid. It's literally the only item I got from him since he died in prison and shit.
Anyway my aunt kept this chain for the longest time (actually 22 years) so no one would lose it or take it and she wanted to give it to me. And i tought it was really cool of her.
The issue that it's fucking ugly as fuck. And I got a brother. So I was wondering if it's worth it to take this chain to a jeweler and make it into something else.
What requirements the chain have to have to be transformable?
>>
>>18633183
23k is not delicate but it has to be thick and heavy enough
i wouldn't go under like 2~mm and that's only with designs like a franco but to be safe i'd say 3-3.5
but even 2-3.5mm 22+k is expensive as fuck these days. it depends on the chain design too. some designs i would outright avoid like thin singapore links
>>
>>18633260
post the chain
it might just be tarnished, if it's real silver, and can be restored
if it's real a jeweler can do anything with it by melting it down and reshaping it but you'll be paying a lot for the labor + extra material
i would say just restore it maybe, post it i'll appraise it if possible
any markings? 925 sterling/925/950/999?

No markings, no idea. It was probably made in Morocco.
>>
>>18633315
is there a smell? magnetic attraction?
definitely looks silver, in the franco/foxtail style. it's not ugly at all dude, you just need to detranish it. it may be thai. hopefully not indian but it looks 925 but there's a possibility it's 999. .950 is ideal for strength and appearance due to reduced copper content.
you can detarnish it by either getting the chemical kits or you can get some aluminum foil, shiny side up IIRC, boiling some water and dumping baking soda in the hot water with the chain and the tarnish will transfer to the foil. you may have to do it a few times if its heavily tarnished. i think you should just wear it honestly, it's handsome. that's what i like about silver, the designs are more unique and varied than high quality mass produced gold chains.
i tire of the same old rope, franco, cuban flat curb shit in gold. here's a small sample of what i most commonly wear >>18633118
i've picked up some 18k pendants since then and i plan to get a silver moissanite ring or something and some signets
>>
>>18633315
it looks high quality but stiff due to its construction so i wouldn't sleep in it unless it's a choker, but man, you've got a relic. i would keep it and detarnish it if it bothers you but you should rock that shit. it's a treasure from your family and honestly most people love this design, it's in the same class as francos and those are extremely popular.
honor your father and rock it. even if he was a bad guy or something if that is the case you should rock it as a genuine family heirloom and put your own legacy in it

Thanks for the tips, no it doesn't smell like anything special. I don't have any magnets to test either. The problem isn't that it's ugly really, it's that's it's too thick and short so when I'm wearing it it's just a metalic choker like a goth girl would wear. I can see how it would have been better looking in the 80's though.
>>18633337
Yeah it's a choker. Ngl I'd wear it if the style wasn't too much. I don't even swear jewelry and when I used to, I hade a thin silver necklace.
Thanks for the words man, yeah he was a bad man, left me pretty traumatized but yeah it's cool to have something from him. I don't know why I'm willing to put the effort but I will.
>>
>>18633347
where does it sit? slightly below, on the collarbone or slightly above? the kind of shirt and collar you wear influences how your piece looks a lot. chokers can look really good in button ups.
have you measured it? it looks 4-6mm thick and i imagine 40-60 grams and if it's a choker on you that means probably 18-20 inches.
you could take it to a jeweler to have it shortened into a bracelet, maybe two if it's long enough
if it is you could do that and give one to your brother and keep the other. bracelets are typically 6.5-8.5 inches
>>
File: bnecklace2.jpg (428.1 KB)
428.1 KB JPG
>>18633351
In the end, it doesn't sit that bad. I have tried it only once and maybe its thickness threw me off but it's not really a choker. It's still thick as fuck.
> jeweler to have it shortened into a bracelet
Thats was my initial thought. Exactly so I could give the other to my brother and we would have both an item from our old man.
I guess I'll go ask that. Thanks for the replies anons.

All of it is superficial.
Watches are a luxury.
Crucifix are childlish. They are like adult pacifiers for people who think they will get good mana from the big daddy in the sky.
Wedding rings don't mean shit. None of the men in my family wear a wedding ring and my grandfather was married for 60 years or something.

Friendly reminder if you wear thicker rings, probably 5mm+, to make sure you really rinse your hands and get all the soap off when you wash them because if any soap gets stuck under the ring you can get contact dermatitis really bad

Anon, reading your post gave me the weirdest feeling. I also got a chain from my father that met a similar fate....very similar to be honest. He died when I was 10 and my mom kept his chain for me. Picrel is how it looks, familiar huh? It's a bracelet though, I posted this >>18630234 before because I feel bad for not wearing it, I have tried in the past but it just feels off, a little too big for me, maybe with a little more confidence I could rock it even if it's lose. My mom always said that it was indeed silver, so I think yours just needs a little cleaning. Dunno what are the odds of this happening for someone else, but here we are.

Not him but the vast majority of western muslims are in the same boat as tradcathconquistador1488 nu-christians.
Essentially LARPing agnostics that need a sense of community and want to cosplay as spiritual and disciplined, but they hate their parents because theyre centrists, and their host culture because they're white, so they overcorrect into being extremists.
Only UK muslims could post "chess is haram" levels of fundie quranism while posing with rented lambos and partying and fucking around.
He can't question the faith of muslims because he doesnt know the faith and political landscape of muslims, but there's tradcath types all over. I'm sure theres pretend-hasidic jews and pretend-buddists in their respective countries, too.
