What's everyone's favorite jean brand?
Personal I like Levi's because I already know my exact size/cut that fits perfectly and gives me the look I want, and they frequently go on sale for $25 a pair.

I can't tell if I look good in wranglers. Obviously I'm a rapidly ageing millenial so I'm swangin that thang, that monkey, that dump truck behind me like you wouldn't believe and my thighs are ENOURMOUS but my calves and feet are very very small so I can't really tell if these are the jeans for me.

Anything over 19 oz is absolute meme denim. I make a special exception for IH’s 21 oz since it’s relatively soft and easy wearing for a heavy weight. Literally nothing beats the vintage 501 style jeans based off the 40s and 50s cuts. The denim is way more balanced and comfortable, and you actually get drape with a 13-15 oz denim which makes it more stylish.

Should I worry about this kind of weird fit in the butt? Not my image, but I tried on these jeans (Japan blue j501) and no matter how much I size down, it always fits like this, if not a bit more filled out towards the bottom cause I actually have ass unlike this guy in this image. If a pair of jeans fit you like this would you buy anyway or would it be a big turnoff?

>>18632037
If the butt is sagging, it’s very likely because the back rise is quite long. It’s important to pay attention to this dimension along with the front rise. For my size, I usually go for a front rise of 12-13 inches and a back rise of 15-16 inches if I’m wanting a better fitted butt. Once the back rise gets to about 17 inches, the butt starts to look pretty dumpy. Personally it’s not an entire deal breaker for me. There’s days where I want to wear a really slouched, relaxed pair of jeans with some sneakers and a hoodie/flannel. Other days, I want to wear a more properly fitted, balanced 501. If you are unsure about it, spend your money on a 501 repro that is actually good looking.

>your karate skills are da best
15 years of kickboxing is nothing to scoff at.
and keep in mind i didn't even mention i fight until well past a YEAR of you constantly calling me weak and small.
>your sex life is da best
millenials had more sex than any generation in history. try to get this through you're head: it was NOT difficult for my generation to get laid like it is for yours. i spent my 20's swimming in easy women. a large part of your identity centers around trying to get laid but i never had to think all that deep about it like you. it came automatic for most guys my generation. thank jews for ruining dating with apps for why you can't get laid it was not always like that.
>That’s also why he’s a funny lolcow. He doesn’t know how stupid he is.
kek you have no idea how funny it is that you think you could even hang with me. if i did bait you into flying out here it would have been really funny and a rude wake up call. go to your local bjj gym and roll with one of the small guys you'll really have a wake up call about your actual ability to fight.
>Pigslim believes that everyone who dislikes him is the same person.
ah yes, its very believable that 10 different anons all use incel vernacular and have the exact same extremely uncommon grammatical tics.
no, you're just one guy who's insecure about the fact that nobody finds your shitty forced memes like "pigslim" funny. your posts stick out like a sore thumb because all the reddit and incel vernacular you use, and strange leftypol anti-white slurs. they're very out of place here.
>That is why his other nickname is “the schizo.”
isn't stalking and obsessing over people a symptom of schizophrenia?
hate to break it to you, but you're the only person who thinks i'm a "schizo" and you literally are demonstrating signs of non-meme actual clinical schizophrenia.
it's plain as day for everyone to see you are projecting.

the word manlet is really funny to me because i've never heard the word "manlet" uttered from the mouth of anyone who was ever much of a man. it always seems more like its projection coming from deeply insecure individuals who hardly even know what being a man means because they didn't even have a dad around.
men worth actually looking up to and respecting to be focused on themselves. normal people don't even know what a "manlet" is. it's really only the söyjack looking redditors, sukeban women, r9k incels and fatherless brownskins who use that vernacular. if i'm wrong post a timestamped face pic.
does anyone ever ask themselves: why would i ever take the biggest losers who ever lived seriously?
i can't imagine.
z0mg some kissless loser called me a name on 4chins im sad ;_;
i was one of the first english speakers who started talking about denim on the internet and i started the denim general on here.
i bought these jeans all the way back in high school, pretty drippy for a kid in 2005. i have better fits but its a little nostalgic because i've been fading them off-and-on for so long.
a lot of the posts that look like me spamming are actually the other guy just copy and pasting my posts from the archives to try to confuse people and make it look like i'm spamming.
>>
So, how long should you go without washing raw denim? I don't think I like the look of raw denim. It's too shiny, making it look like cheap polyester pants. What's the difference between the fades that you get from wearing raw jeans for a while vs single wash raw denim (before wearing them)?
>>
>>
>>18630237
I wore a pair of them the other day, got a look of jealousy (thought it may have been lust, I don't know I'm autistic) from another western-wearing zoomer mut. Feels nice to have long legs and a broad chest.

You're absolutely retarded and you should kill yourself. How do people fall for the crap from that shitty ass brand? They sell the same pair of jeans with a fancy name every single time.
They just keep shilling on YouTube to try to act like your online friends. Fuck off.
>>
>>18634691
Wash when stinky or visibly dirty.
The less you wash the more contrast the fades get since each wash removes some indigo.
Also I don't think anyone sane likes the look of raw denim, the entire point of raw denim is that you're just working from the optimal starting point to get good fades. Nobody is walking around talking about keeping their jeans looking raw for as long as possible. It's all about speeding up the break in period and fading time.

If you have a large thigh to waist ratio, SC1947 is not it. Go for the Freewheelers 1947 if you want a more “fitted” relax cut. The Freewheelers has slightly larger thighs than the sugarcanes. Also check out Warehouse 1001xx 1953. If you want straight up relaxed/loose cut with maximum thigh width and comfort, go for Fullcount 0105

no wonder it's so ugly, hideous jew genetics. how the half-jewish son of a jewish guy involved with a jewish sex trafficking cabal who posted nothing political except bernie sanders stuff somehow became the avatar for white men who don't hate themselves? i drive a low miles excellent condition 1988 325is in a rare highly desired paint color. the m3 sucks ass on the street its a high strung 4 banger made for the track. my car's worth like 20-30k https://bringatrailer.com/search/?s=1988+325is

you literally out yourself as third world or a woman-like male who can't turn a wrench if you're not at least aware that its a highly sought-after collector car and i have a clean ass example.vulnerable narcissism. dr todd grande's videos on youtube are a good introduction.
its a mental illness where they have extremely low self esteem and a fragile ego that can only be maintained by shitting on and dragging others down. it's the kind of person who will spend years shitting on how other people look and their style but never post a fit themselves

If you want a classic wide/relaxed cut, you're not going to find a more perfect cut than the Freewheelers 1947. Nice relaxed top block and thighs, but it has a really balanced taper toward the knee. Does not look baggy at all. Also, the denim is gorgeous and they're going to look more classic and universal than the meme stuff Oni makes as well as all the other meme denim brands (Samurai, Iron Heart, etc.)

I’m a fan of wide/relaxed cuts, but the Oni 200 just looks weird. Too wide beneath the knee for how tight the thigh and top block fits. The rise should also be 0.5” higher than what it is. I’m not even opposed to having slightly fitted thigh width, but the silhouette looks too weird and/or feminine if they make the hem super wide. Ideally a wide/relaxed cut has an actual relaxed thigh (unlike pic related) that has a low to moderate taper below the knee. A good example of dimensions would be:
>Waist: 33.5”
>Front rise: 12.5”
>Thigh: 13.5”
>knee: 10”
>hem: 9.2”

>>18638550

>>
>>18638552
Yeah, the top block is just too tight for the wide leg silhouette they’re trying to produce. It just doesn’t feel natural. If I’m wearing a wide leg, it’s because I like the comfort and superior mobility/function. Having a tight top block with a low/medium rise completely defeats the purpose. You need to have some relaxation in the upper thigh and seat to be able to freely move
>>
>>18638558
i like the waist to be high, tight, tapered and my yoke aggressive but everything below that on the upper block loose. my goal with off the rack pants is that full freedom of movement while also keeping my shirt tucked all day if i don't belt.

>Context: A +7.5" index is similar to measurements found in professional, elite-level combat sports athletes with exceptionally long limbs, such as former boxer Sam Langford.
>Distribution: In a normal population, 95% of males have a wingspan-to-height ratio falling between roughly -2.5% and +7.8% (e.g., for a 5'10" person, a range of -1.8" to +5.5"). A 7.5" difference is significantly beyond this, likely putting it in the top 0.5% or lower.

The 0105 is VERY popular in japan for very good reason, but not so much in the West. Western denim consumers can't get enough of the meme heavy weight ultra textured denim, but most denim enthusiasts in japan opt for relaxed vintage 501 cuts with normal selvedge denim because of the stylish silhoutte, drapey textural effect, and balanced fades. I've been cycling my pair of 0105 with my pairs of freewheelers. If I could only choose one pair of jeans to wear for the rest of my life, they would certainly be tied with the freewheelers simply for the fact that they're the most comfortable and functional.

what do you guys wish denim brands would do more?
i wish more jeans came with a darted/articulated knee like you find on hiking and techwear pants. you usually see it on slim leg pants to give a better range of motion but what i'd like to see is darted knees on a straight or full cut pair of jeans to take down a bit of the bulk in the knee area while having a full thigh and full cut below the knee.
stretched out knees from pnw rainfall is the bane of my existence. i should just tailor it into my next pair of raws.

igor = seething about russians
cecil = character he made during the first trump election cycle to associate white nationalism with pedophilia/untermensch looks/felons/degeneracy
doug = character he made to denigrate nerdy young white guys

28-29 inch waist
12-12.5 inch front rise
11 ish inch thigh
7.5 ish leg opening
Straight trim but not overly skinny fit
12-16oz denim, nothing overly slubby or neppy
I can't find anything from the japs with measurements like this. They best option i have found so far is suit supply.
Pic semi related but too low rise in the front

Anyone have recs for jeans without a yoke or with a really shallow one? Something that fits like Carhartt's loose dungaree or rustler's relaxed fit? Basically I've got a small ass relative to my thighs and most jap denim big enough to fit my legs looks like a deflated sack of shit in the top block.

Honestly, you’re probably one of the few people that would like the Oni 200? I have larger thighs, but my ass is proportionally large. I tried on a pair and didn’t like them because the medium rise and top block felt too tight to my liking for how wide the leg looked. As far as I remember the yoke is shallow. It might be perfect in your case if you want a tighter fitting top block

Recommend me some denim. A little about me: I’m 5’0” 100lbs and schizophrenic. I like to think of myself as a fighter, but the truth is a man of average strength could kill me in a single strike. I’m chronically unemployed and poor. I drive a dusty old shitbox 3 series (and no, I couldn’t afford the M3). I’m obsessed with denim as it distracts me from the fact that I failed college and have never had a real job. I’m also cripplingly stupid and can barely afford to feed myself. My bowels don’t work and I get raped by Jews daily. I like to blog post and overshare on an anonymous image board because no one tolerates me in real life. I’m 5’0”, 100 lbs, with a 26 inch inseam and size 24 waist. Happy to answer any questions you might have. Pic related - it’s me.

I don’t have any experience with them, but I’ve looked at their 50s-inspired cuts before and they look pretty legit. I have a strong preference for the boxy 50s cuts and they seem to nail that pretty well. Not my all time favorite looking denim, but if the cuts work for you then that’s pretty much the more important thing to consider. If you’re into the boxy 50s cuts, don’t sleep on the Fullcount 0105. Peak mobility, comfort, and the denim is visually some of the nicest

>. If I’m wearing a wide leg, it’s because I like the comfort and superior mobility/function. Having a tight top block with a low/medium rise completely defeats the purpose.
That's the 501 and tons of similar silhouettes inspired by it though. Medium rise, tight hip and thigh, wide-ish from the knee down.
>>
>>18641270
>That's the 501 and tons of similar silhouettes inspired by it though. Medium rise, tight hip and thigh, wide-ish from the knee down.
That's not exactly what the Oni 200 is though. For my usual jap waist size of 34, the Oni 200s have a thigh width of 13.2-13.3", a knee width of around 11", and a hem of 9.5". Technically, there is some degree of taper from the thigh to the hem, BUT the amount of taper from what is a thigh width of a normal straight cut down to the knee width of a very wide cut makes it look completely disproportionate. If I wanted a 501 repro with a thigh width of 13.3", the knee width would need to be a maximum of like 10.1-10.2" for it to actually look proportional. The set of dimensions from the thigh to the knee on the Oni 200 are not something you would ever really see on any normal 501 repro jean. 99% of repro jeans in that size have a thigh width ranging from 13.2-13.5" and a knee width of 9.5-10.2". You can afford to have a greatly reduced taper from the knee down to the hem, but because the Oni 200 has a weird unbalanced taper from the thigh to the knee, the jeans look like a normal classic straight or slim straight jean in the upper half and a very wide leg jean in the bottom half. Terrible proportions. If you want a wide leg jean, you need to actually have a roomy top block to balance the silhouette
>>
>>18641266
If you are already a short guy, relaxed cuts will definitely do that. I am 6'1", 190 lbs with a weight lifters build. I have larger thighs, but I also have wide shoulders. When I wear a wide leg jean, my proportions are balanced because I am tall and I have wide shoulders which allow for me to widen up the bottom 2/3 of my body. If you are below 5'10" with a stocky build, you can't really afford to wear a wide cut without making yourself look even shorter and stockier. Best to stick to normal classic straight with some (balanced) taper below the knee.

Been into raw denim since 2016. I’ve easily spent thousands of dollars on this hobby, worn jeans that I fucking love, and made mistakes with buying jeans that were total memes. If I had choose one pair of jap raws as the best pair of jeans in the world, it’s honestly the Sugarcane 1947. The balanced cut, denim, relatively fair price, and lack of gimmicky details is what makes it the closest thing to the world’s most perfect pair of jeans. It sits in that optimal middle ground. The thigh is has that perfect width, the top block will fit 90%+ of guys without sagging or being too tight, the taper ratio is absolutely golden, and the denim has just the right amount of texture and perfect shade of indigo that eventually turns into very vibrant tones of blue. Even the 14.25 oz weight feels a tiny bit more dense compared to most 501 repros, which allows you a slightly easier ability to form higher contrast fades if you want to, but it obviously has the capability of just leaning into that classic vintage style fade. Even though there are a couple other pairs of jeans that I personally prefer over everything else, the SC1947 just works so well with regard to literally every relevant factor of judgement. A lot of dudes will get into jap raws starting with the heavyweight companies like IH or Samurai, only to inevitably end up trying the sugarcanes and realizing they are the superior pair of jeans due to all the factors described here, but also the infinitely more timeless aesthetic of it which makes it way easier to style with outfits.

lol the guy who was talking shit to everyone before i even got here saying "nooooo you can't be this unless you look like that!" was wrong about everything. and he's also dodging having to post a picture of himself. i guess that's the lesson we can learn from this thread. talk shit? post fit. nut up little guy. now's your time to shine. you spend every day on a fashion board but you're afraid to post a picture of yourself online? ive been posting pictures of myself on here since the board was created off and on. you new gen lil pups are wild work with the insecurity these days what getting zero pussy does to a mf. you know schizOID and schizOPHRENIC are not the same thing, or even related to each other right? schiz is just a root word that means "odd" or "unusual" schizOID just means a loner who chooses to be one. schizoid does not involve any sort of detachment from reality, or any kind of dissonant thoughts. it does not involve hearing voices. schizoids have heightened pattern recognition but unlike schizophrenics the patterns they see are real. and schizoid is being removed from the next revision of the dsm because its not considered "equal but different" than neurotypical -- as the traits are BENEFICIAL not DETRIMENTAL in most cases to the schizoid based on their life experiences. its closer CPTSD than anything, doesn't have much to do with schizophrenia other than a slightly elevated risk of getting it.
schizoPHRENICS (most likely) are people have dopamine sensitivity issues and hear voices and see shit which isn't real which is probably their subconcious/dreams leaking into their reality. schizophrenia can sometimes lead to psychosis, and schizophrenics have disordered disorganized thoughts. they're mostly harmless, but shouldn't be taken too seriously. like bruh if you are going to larp as an arm chair psychologist for multiple years on 4chan at least take a class or watch an into to psych course online or something fks sake.

Absolute gimmicky meme denim. You will certainly get crazy vibrant high contrast fades, but that’s not necessarily the best looking thing. It’s much more reliable to wear a classic vintage 501 repro style jean. The cut is more timeless and universal, and the denim gets more balanced looking fades which makes it way easier to style. Having a pair of high contrast fades meme denim is very hard to coordinate outfits with. It’s just too loud and looks like something those crazy ass jeans that an Indian would wear at the gym

This is exactly why I just order straight from Japanese retailers. Absolutely zero bullshit, great responsive customer service. I support someone’s business if they do their job and give me a great product/service without any unnecessary complications during that process. Making a political statement like this is what it looks like to add some unnecessary complications into the mix. It is a perfect example of there being an unnecessary middle man making things too complicated. Instead, I could just buy the jap-made stuff directly from the company that makes it. I will never understand why businesses will choose to shoot themselves in the foot like this because the only possible outcome of doing this is that they piss off and exclude some amount of their customer base. If you are already a super niche business that sells products that 99.9% would never even consider purchasing, pulling a stunt like that is absolutely fucking retarded because you aren’t possibly going to be gaining any customers.
If purchasing from Japan is not possible, I just go to Self Edge in person. As far as I know, Self Edge has not once used their business platform to make some big political statement, and that’s ultimately why they are one of the more respected jap clothing retailers in the West. They found their lane and hit the gas. I’m pretty sure literally every single person in the US right now is aware of the opposition to ICE. We don’t need niche clothing businesses telling us their opinion to know that there is a political controversy going on. When they do shit like this, it signals that they think you are dumb and are not capable of thinking for yourselves. In the grand scheme of high end clothing, 3sixteen is absolutely mid and I’ll be absolutely content to never purchase any of their shit ever. It’s not surprising either. Some of these people are even going to the extent of repaying us back by committing billions in welfare fraud, and you fucking faggots have the audacity to try and protect them when they literally hate you and steal from you. I'm also always tight around the thighs. That's my main concern. I'm also wearing my first pair of Iron Heart jeans. The 888 fit isn't really tapered. It feels pretty good and the rise is good. I also bought a set of 634s, and those fit me to a T. I just wish they had higher rise, but they have a tough silhouette.
>>
>>18646220
>888 fit isn't really tapered
wut
I wore through a pair of 888 in both the 21 oz overdyed black and normal indigo, as well as the 25 oz. They are 100% a considerably tapered pair of jeans. The purpose of those jeans is to provide a slim-looking silhouette for dudes with big thighs, and the way they achieve that is to add more taper below the thigh. I wish I fit better into the 634, but for some reason they thought it would be a brilliant idea to give a perfect straight cut an ungodly low rise that makes the top block fit too tight. Literally the only cut I can comfortably wear is the 1955, which is arguably their best cut.

>>
>>
>>18646379
Stick with the 634 if it fits you well. The 888 and 1955 have too much taper which makes the silhouette look really goofy. If you want another pair of jeans, get a good pair of vintage 501 repros. The cuts are superior to iron heart, and the denim has more interesting texture with more drape.

The taper is tough to spot because it starts above the knee. You basically go from a ~13" thigh at the crotch to <9" at the knee, but then the legs stovepipe down from there. The upside is that you get a slim silhouette thats very easy to hem without altering the jeans' taper. The downside is that if you have bigger quads (not just glutes), your legs will fit the thigh measurement at the crotch, but won't fit further down towards the knee. This makes the 888 a good cut for average builds, who can get a higher rise, roomier alternative to IH's usual skintight offerings, but makes it laughable as a 'lifters cut' and kinda proves the design team are DYELs.
The 1955 meanwhile (GOAT cut- ignore the haters) sits a little higher than the 888 in front, but the back rise is about the same, so the seat wont sag as much if you cant fill it out (plus in my book). The thigh starts off roughly the same size, but the knee measurement is about an inch and a half bigger in total, which is a game changer for comfort. Then from there, they lose about an inch and a half, tapering from ~9.75" across to 8" across. BUT because the bottom of the leg is where all the taper sits, if you knock off a few inches with a hem, youre right back at a clean 8.5" leg opening which is about on par with a 1966 501.

Sorry, I actually meant the polar opposite of letting them crease naturally i.e. "pressing" a crease down the middle

Ah, yeah that's something they do in the cowboy aesthetics I mention. The point there is looking sharp and clean when you go to church and other formal occasions though they'd probably considered it too formal for work.
The effay way of wearing jeans is the Japanese style where you actually want the jeans to look more distressed over time to develop unique fading patterns and you should ideally do as little as possible to them, including washing them only when truly necessary. Almost all fancy jeans you can buy will do things like rope dyeing rather than reactive dyeing because reactive dyeing doesn't develop fades.

I'm an honorary millennial, I feel compelled to larp as a blue collar laborer while I sit in a cafe/craft brewery and type away on my Macbook Pro for my SWE job while pounding hoppy IPAs/cortados

You should wash that thing. It's gonna fall apart if you use it caked with shop dirt for 6 months between washes.
It's already going to have extremely loud high contrast fades at the point it is now. Please, a proper wash in a machine, not just a cold soak

Could be. It did lose some of the heavy creasing on the arms but I think they'll come back with use and probably develop some new ones. I've never broken in something this heavy before so I can't really say its broken in yet or not but when it had dried it almost went back to feeling like cardboard again. been wearing it about 40 hours a week since early October. its a genuinely great welding jacket for the stuff I do and is great even in windy winter weather as well. One of the nicer things about it being heavy is that you can sweat in it and it doesn't cling to you body like a lighter fabric does. Doing normal motions basically pumps out the hot air and humidity. Its a extremely weird jacket.
