Do you wear any sort of small bag? I've been looking to buy something which isn't overly offensive to the eyes.
I don't want to carry my backpack everywhere and it's getting too warm for jackets.

It's not a purse it's a european handbag

Anon, what purpose would justify wearing a "small, cross-body bag" that ALSO defeats the use of a backpack?
Is it casual?
Professional?
Social?
Fiscal?
If you are a male in a western culture and you're scared of taking a purse with you because you want to, you are either
● Rightfully wary of your social status
● Too effeminate to have any pride or confidence in yourself, that some other person's opinion of you will cause you more harm and anxiety than you're capable of handling
My suggestion is to just wear your backpack. You, or maybe someone you're traveling with (be it social or professional), will appreciate the extra space, if you're actually wearing it out of necessity and not something gay like "fashion."

Nah that's too effeminate. You want a HARD gay look not a s o f t gay look. Leather hip pouch, leather jacket. Go full tom of finland.

>cross-body bags
You mean a purse?
>>
>Noooo as a man you’re not allowed to carry a bag to bring along a moderate number of everyday items! They have to be awkwardly distributed between your pants and jacket pockets. Because… because that’s just how it is!!

I think those chest fanny packs look pretty neat, I wanna get one of those eventually. Smaller than a backpack, not as gay looking as a purse and (at a glance) not as awkward as an actual regular fanny pack, I used them and don't like how they feel when you're running

Well, yes. The average modern man doesn't need to be carrying much. Especially since pockets are sizable in menswear and smartphones became a thing. Keys, wallet, and phone can easily fit in pants pockets. Gum, comb, and pocket knife will round out most mens' EDC and still be comfortable to carry in pants pockets.
Anything more is special use case to the individual and not universal to all life styles. In such cases you'd probably be better served by a more sizable bag, case, or backpack which are far less faggy and let you hold more stuff.

Not OP, but the sole reason I want to carry a bag is for my gun, because there's no way to holster it that doesn't either make me look fat or make it very obvious that I'm carrying.
But I've yet to find a bag option that doesn't ruin an outfit.

And you think a gun-sized bag won't do that? You may as well be wearing a Columbine coat at that point.

Many clothing brands have explicitly "concealed carry" options. This is especially true for "outdoorsman" or "hunting" brands.

I’ve been considering either this bag, the vardag by fjallraven, or something more professional like a Filson. I have a small duffel bag I carry to and from work each day. Has my keys, documents, planner, a drink or snack, etc. but it’s starting to look and feel a little ratty so maybe it’s time for an upgrade. Part of me wants to buy something nice like a decent leather attache, part of me wants to be cheap and just use the bare minimum.

Other option, something like this. If someone knows a good leather company tho I wouldn’t mind spending a few hundred bucks if it’s quality and would last.

i got this 1L patagonia sling, seamrippered the logo, snipped the jangley zippers and replaced them with cord.
its basically just a bag to shove my wallet, keys, and earbuds in while im at work. i've added a phone cord too since i have the space. its nice on planes as well.
>>
>>18632943
>And you think a gun-sized bag won't do that?
No? First of all it doesn't necessarily have to be exactly gun-sized, but even if it was, there's plenty of other things someone might use a bag to carry. Phone, wallet, keys, etc. I just want plausible deniability.
>>18632957
Glock 19 is what I carry too, so I'll def look into that. Thanks!
>>
I wear one for long walks and runs sometimes. It has a little cord that wraps around my body to keep it still. Ever since I got a high ankle sprain and had to limp miles home in the dark I bring water, ibuprofen, ace wrap, a flashlight, and a phone battery if I’ll be even a few miles from home.

Men specialize.
Women generalize.
This applies to basically all activities; exericise, work, social, action, rest, the idea of participation is to get the best possible outcome. Outcomes can be very different depending on your sex.
Are you a man performing an action? Use a tool.
Are you a woman performing an action? Carry-all.

Skirts and high heels emphasize body parts and traits that are considered attractive in women. (Whereas suits emphasize men’s shoulders and create a generally soldier- or boss-like appearance.) Bags do not emphasize gender-specific traits

Depends on the day.
>Walking somewhere nearby
No bag.
>Taking public transit and spending most of my day downtown
Medium-ish crossbody. Not as cumbersome as a bag, quicker access to stuff if i need it, and on the train/bus i can move the bag to my front easily. Especially useful if you do a hobby or something like photography.
>Driving
usually backpack, if there's no walking involved at the destination. More space, and the typical downsides don't apply cause the bag goes in the trunk.
For crossbody, i like this uniqlo bag

How the hell do I find a bag to carry that doesnt feel like a purse? I have too much shit to carry but backpacks make me feel like a combination of a schoolkid and homeless.

Damn I might grab this. I've been grappling with this problem for a while now. I carry too much shit, and I live in the South so it's too fucking hot and humid 90% of the year for a jacket. Yet I have to wear dressy basically every day of the year. So something sporty hasn't worked with most things I wear, a backpack is too large, and a lot of the smaller bags just scream "I have a gun." I'd love to wear a fanny pack, but I just can't make it work with a dress shirt and khakis. It looks horrid.

I actually use their VITESSE CYCLING MUSETTE bag. It’s a messenger bag. I like the simple, minimalist look to it. Good material. Although it’s not as spacious and can be difficult to pull things out of the bag. The handle on my bag seems useless sometimes when I pack too much and becomes top heavy..

Horizontal are always the best. You can buy them as big or as small as you need. Wear them on your chest, back, crotch, ass, waist or over your shoulder. Can buy full leather for smart occasions or BFL purchases. You can buy corduroy for softness or you can buy canvas and nylon for sports or plastic for water proof hikes. You can buy them with bungee cords for waterbottles.

Too small and it looks like a purse, too big and you might as well have a backpack. I tend to go with a pretty decent sized crossbody for shorter days out but I have a messenger/satchel for if I need more shit. I think any that are too small and square like >>18631430 are when they look way too much like a purse.
>>18642108
The origin of the modern crossbody was literally made by just taking fanny packs and slinging them across your chest.

When it comes to radiation, they say it’s safe but I wouldn’t really put the phone close to your balls, just in case.

It's on the larger side, but I use a USGI-style map bag when I need more carrying capacity than my pockets offer. My first one held up for at least twelve years of regular use before the webbing loop holding the strap D-ring failed.
