Which Le Male flanker should I get? Elixir has a great drydown, but I also like the plum note in Absolu. LMLP is meh, iris is overdone imo. Haven't tried LBLP yet

Elixir is ridiculously effective if you want to attract people; it gives you a point, maybe 2 points extra instantly, just a perfect frag
Absolu is the dressed up version of it, so it's a lot less versatile imo, people talk about Elixir not being versatile at all but that hasn't been my case, I use it all the time, and it has only given me constant compliments
Ultramale was disappointing to me, I just don't get the hype, and I think the OG is a lot better in a lot of ways
All Le Beaus are trash if you're not in a constantly warm place imo, Le Parfum is definitely the best one and it has a very nice dry down but the opening is very meh, and it's impossible to get out of your skin

I live in a mediterranean climate, it's cold for about three or four months and the rest ranges from fresh to really hot
Is Elixir fine in warm weather, doesn't it get cloying?
Yeah the vanilla le Beau isn't good imo, I'd like to try the parfum

Honestly, I don’t know because I live in a cool climate city all year around so it works for me, but I do think you could wear it if you don’t overspray and you keep it light, as I said, people are over exaggerating when they say it’s not versatile, it really is, it can be very subtle even if you stay under 5 sprays a day

It's sweet but not a gourmand sweetness, more like a fruity, tropical, pina-colada sweetness

Sure, if you want to smell like Axe body spray but with worse performance lel
I honestly like Y but the EDP disappears in an hour, it feels like a scam

its so funny I took my sister out to look for fragrances with me she has no ideas what people online consider good, I showed her all the popular niche/designer frags, like pdm, amouage etc and she picked JPG le male elixer as her favorite

Yup. Two sprays on my butthole usually last me a couple of hours during an average night. Heavy traffic might require some reapplication though

it’s a gourmand, meaning it smells like something edible, that activates your eating instincts, people want to literally, actually devour you, it’s hard to explain without having smelled it
i literally want to make out with my hand all day when i wear it

You guys were not kidding, after reading so many comments about it in this thread and other threads before this one I decided to go to the store and just try it, at first I was like yeah sure it smells nice, then I left the store and around 20 minutes later when I sat down and smelled it some more I was so in love with it I immediately ordered a 125ml bottle, it's not even expensive compared to most other fragrances, I love this so much

>played out
>recs Valentino
Nigger what? Valentinos best scents are just lavender and tobacco. Which I like, and wear on occasion, but if you’re criticism is that something is too played out and bland… why the fuck would you recommend the most normie shit ever.
>>
>>18634521
coral fantasy, green extravaganza and yellow dream are not normie at all, and they’re very underused, and the original uommos are rare af
Y is a fragrance that's been on the market for more than 10 years and has like 15 flankers
>>
>>
>>18634509
>browns still love blue frags above all else
Yes, both blue and gourmands are the preferred fragrances of brown people.
>Like what, myslf and paradigme?
Yes. You’ll find that most of the people that criticize these perfumes are brown people because they’re not unique enough unlike the millionth blue freshie/vanilla gourmand fragrance released last year.
>>
>>18634555
>coral fantasy
nonstop recommended online. Absolutely “played out”. I like that one too but if you’re going by this dumb “too popular on niche internet circles” metric, then cmon… hold yourself to it as well. The other two are forgettable shit and will be discontinued before long. The classics are classics for a reason, certain scents last, certain things smell good on men.
>but there’s so many flankers
Yea, because it’s good and they’re trying to improve on it but can’t. That’s the fragrance game… something decent comes out… gets copied and flanked for decades… and the flankers either die off or eventually improve on the OG slightly and the cycle starts again.

Most attractive of the line, excellent drydown, might be a bit much for very hot days
>black
Classiest of the line, an iris fragrance so if you don't like that you won't like it
>ultra male
Discontinued, it was pear-centric apparently, pretty loud and attractive like the Elixir but not as strong
>le beau line
Tropical summery frags, the edt is boring, the parfum is sweet pineapple/coconut/tonka, the paradise garden is more green with some fig replacing the pineapple

I tried Paradise Garden yesterday and immediately said "it's like someone threw a fruit smoothie over me" and then I come here to see this >>18635619 lmao. I hated it, it's too fruity and sweet, almost overwhelming. I tried Versace Eros Energy right after and, while being comically citric, it's way more enjoyable. Different proposals, I know, but just illustrates that even if you want to do something crazy, you can do it well. I'm adamant that if you're a gay Caribbean you can pull Paradise Garden off.

>scent smells too strong when you spray it and then immediately put your nose right to the spot you sprayed
I was thinking about this… surely it would smell completely different in the context of a few minutes/hours of dry down and the nose of someone else who is standing a few feet away? Right? I’m pretty new to the fragrance stuff but to me that seems logical, how sure are we that certain frags aren’t just designed to be “too strong” at first spray?
>>
>>
>>18636539
Yea, the performance on myslf honestly isn’t great. But I’d still buy it, the scent is that good. Generally if I’m wearing it, the goal is female attention, so I’m usually in a position where I’m only out for a few hours, or could reapply if needed.
>>
>>
>>18636539
>>18636683
something happened with ysl frags and now their performance is trash, y edp only lasts a couple of hours before disappearing completely, maybe its the launching of the more intense versions but it sucks

Yea I have them all.
>edp
I got the smallest sprayer bottle size (30ml?) as a gift. Loved it. Had to overspray a little but really like this one, prob the best smelling imo
>le parfum
Got a bottle off Mercari im a little sus of, I can’t detect any differences from guaranteed Le parfum… but the longevity is just not there at all. Maybe that’s just how the frag is, or maybe I got a very good fake that was able to make it smell perfect aside from the performance. Prob my least favorite of the group. Also takes out some of the sweetness and has a faint pepper smell, which I assume they added to try to give it a little boost in performance and justify the “parfum” tag. But from my testing it doesn’t really last much more than the edp and isn’t quite as nice smelling.
>l’absolu
A little sweeter than the edp, a little more powerful. I’d either get this one or the edp. If you buy a decant, test it extensively, then purchase a 5oz “refill” of the one you like.. the price per oz isn’t bad. That’s what I would recommend.
>>
>>18636957
>Ysl performance
It really is tragic, isn’t it? YSL puts out complete bangers but they just don’t last at all. Maybe that’s just how it goes with these lighter, powdery scent profiles… but damn. If they had better performance I could just wear YSL for the rest of my life, I like the lines that much.. but the price/projection ratio just isn’t there.

>Summer
idk bout Le Beau, I find it a little too sweet for my taste so I'd just go with Legend Spirit instead of Le Male, but
>winter
I'd go for Ultra Male, I tried it once but I'm convicted in getting it once the heat is gone here in the tropics. I do believe you need some confidence to pull it off though

i can't LBLP or paradise garden. someone oversprayed it in public and i didn't like it then either. it's very coconut-forward. I don't think you could go wrong with elixir although I haven't tried absolu yet.

try them at sephora. intensely is the most mass appealing but you may like one of the flankers more

i've never smelled terre dhermes in public. i have a sample spray of edt and it's very good but too mature for me. 30+ age range
>>
>>18644129
both bir and bir intense are great, but very unisex, first time i tried intense i thought they made a mistake and gave me an spray from a woman’s perfume
coral fantasy is great if you like dry openings, it feels like tobacco and cinnamon that becomes apple and the original bubblegum bir, it’s nice but not as good as the original intense
dont bother with the other ones, especially extradose with is a dumber version of the intense
