Comparable but I prefer the styling over Ralph Lauren or Lacoste. Those two brands are for middle class bores. Fred Perry is more obscure in comparison so you only find those who wear it are those who actively seek it out like myself. It's a cult brand rooted in British youth sub-cultures like the Skinheads and Mods where music and fashion were part of the look and that spirit has endured to this day. Plus the laurel wreath logo is much more attractive.

Even the polos have more variations than PRL. Occasionally you get a different looking or sized croc. Not to mention the other stuff they sell hoodies, jackets, sweaters, shoes. At polo you always find 85 percent the same staple items.
my casual wear is usually Lacoste because they do the nicest tracksuits. However for whatever name brand you buy from quality varies massively. Occasionally you find a well designed and constructed piece that'll last more than a single season.
