it's really cringe especially on women and on men with uncalloused soft service sector hands

I wear a jacket that I got from work with my name embroidered on the sleeve and the company name at the front. It's a heavy workwear jacket, but I was a process engineer and all the faggots that got paid to turn valves and get chemical burns are the ones with stains and shit on their jacket. I feel cooler for having an untarnished one.

carhartt was always for guys trying to lean into a LARP. I saw some guy driving the other day in a ford super duty with the windows down and his shirt was safety green. That's what workers actually wear.

I'm a delivery driver but I usually browse /tip/

>call it blue collar
>collar is brown
I dont understand please explain

"work wear" means freelance carpenters and such, not construction workers in a union
>>
>>18641537
That’s not the point.
>>
>>18641099
It's absolutely hilarious how mad people get over the clothing someone chooses to wear
The whole "work wear" thing and how mad people get over it is great.
It's the exact same as some soldiers getting mad seeing someone wearing a military uniform if they never served but instead of military it's just durable clothing. They see someone wearing a Carhartt jacket and lose their minds and run to the internet to let everyone know they're upset
Who gives a shit?
>>
>>18641099
I admit I really like the look of the Carhartt Detroit jacket but I don't want to look like a larper. My boots are already too workweary for my office job.
>>
>>18641099
I'm starting to become an unc so I feel the urge to wear workwear to my comfy office SWE job
>>
>NOO ONLY BLUE COLLARS CAN WEAR CARHART!

nigga shut up. "Real" blue collar laborers wear CHINKWORK brand shit they find on amazon.
>>
>>18642584
As someone who worked in a literal factory, they gave us picrel.
>>
If you don't work 120 hours a week lower your fucking tone when speaking to me.
>>
>>18642625
>you have to let your boss fuck your ass or you're not a man
Nah. Now dig that hole, hole-digger.
>>
it is funny to me how much the internet preaches functionality in these expensive pieces, meanwhile the functional laborers i meet, be it mexican construction guys, ukrainian mechanics, or old white guy contractors, universally wear walmart jeans, walmart boots, and t shirts.
the closest to workwear you even see is a branded carhartt hoodie
>>
>>18642625
i work 40 hours a week and in that week i send about 5 emails, change a cell in an excel spreadsheet and sit in a few meetings where i don't contribute, i just sit in. i do maybe 4 hours of real "work" in those 40 hours
i get paid $75k a year to do this

some manual labor tradegie working 120 hours destroying their body and drinking themselves to death to cope with the wear and tear all to make less than i do will never not be funny to me
>>
>>18641252
5'11 vs 6'
>>
>>18642651
Why do you think some underpaid Mexican is going to be able to afford anything else?
>>
>>18642189
>freelance carpenters and such
oh boy so any redditor with a skilsaw
>>
>>18642989
If they stopped sending half of all their wages back home to Mexico and spending the rest on Coronas then they'd have a lot more left over for nice things
>>
>>18642651
walmart tshirts mog other cheap brands, and they come in safety green
>>
>>18641099
I wear Carhartt and work at an office. Cope and sneed, faggot.
>>
>>18642189
Carpenters are construction workers
Self employed carpenters build houses
They wear hard hats and fluorescent hoodies and ugly cheap steel toes and canvas or denim pants with cargo pockets and tinted safety glasses that cost a dollar a pair
>>
>>18641425
When it's worn over feminine attire absolutely. It's trying to be the look of "I stole my boyfriend's jacket" without them actually having a boyfriend, or at least one that does manual labour of any kind.
>>
>>18641159
I'm an electrician and I have to say, Carhartt has really gone downhill lately. They used to be the holy grail but now I'd never buy them for work. I blame larpers for making them pivot to shitting out clothes for the masses.
>>
>>18641122
They're all dressed like crackhead hobos.
>>
>>18642189
Nigger, anyone who does manual labor needs to wear "workwear", whether he's a construction worker, carpenter, welder, blacksmith, plumber, electrician, mechanic, miner, etc. They need workwear because those jobs put their clothes through a lot of wear and tear, so their clothes need to be tough, durable and have specialized features that are convenient while working.
>>
>>18641099
I work in agriculture, my employer buys us a lot of carhartt crap. It's mostly ill-fitting and low quality, especially post 2020.
