it would be better if the jacket didn't look like plastic

Well, PU leather is always gonna look shit. Real leather would look tons better. I have a Marlon style jacket like that made of cotton, and it's awesome.

This jacket looks fine, it's just not broken in so it doesn't drape or have any shape to it

You need wideass shoulders for leather jackets otherwise it's cringe

This thread pops up right as i get a boner for perfectos. Schott has the original, i have a schott jackets already so im down for a different brand. What marlon style jacket do you have?
>>
>>18644135
For me Schott is all I need. Could I spend more for a japanese brand made of horsehide sewn together by samurais? Yeah, but I don't feel the need when Schott will give me a lifetime jacket for half the price
If there's a better price to quality brand than Schott I'm all ears. Apparently Vanson is very good for their prices
But I'm happy with my Schotts. I own one and actually just ordered my second which I'm super stoked to have arrive next week

very close to saying fugit and buying this, i quite like the burgundy but i feel like itll get old after a while, thoughts?
>>

Burgundy is one of those colors you gotta fully commit to. Personally I think it would be a novelty i liked for a while but got tired of
Nice for a second or third jacket (after you already have black and brown) but probably not as your only jacket
just my opinion though

The 519 is basically the OG one star Perfecto but longer and therefore more of a fashion jacket than a motorcycle one
I almost got it earlier this year but looked around on eBay and got a super cheap vintage 118 to see if I even liked the style
>>
Bros, this arrives tomorrow. It's the 188, which is a brand new style from Schott. It's basically the naked cowhide version of their 688. I'm hype as fuck to see how the naked cowhide is and how it breaks in and ages

Yeah i xopped

hell yeah brother. i think my next leather jacket, assuming i get another schott will be the 519

Nice, jacket. I love my 555. Got it last year. Hope they make more olive tone jackets down the road.
>>
>>18644937
Well it arrived today, fits and feels great. This jacket feels like its been broken in for 10 years already, but its brand new. nice leather
>>
How do I break on my horsehide double rider? Should I sleep in it?
>>
>>18646887
Just wear it a lot. Any “break in shortcuts” will wind up giving it weird creases or wear patterns. You want it to break in to the shape of your body how you would wear it naturally. The only advantage of a new leather jacket over a nice used one is that it starts to conform to your body
>>
>>18646887
There is no substitute for just wearing it. You simply gotta put in the time
I got a jacket when it was summer and too hot wear so I wore it around the house just to put in the time
Like >>18646897 said, if you try and chest it it ends up looking wrong
>>
>>18646934
>>18646897
so wearing it in bed is a big no?
>>
>>18646936
The breaking in comes from movement, not just wearing it. Sleeping in it probably won't break it in as much as you want
