Single-breasted vs Double-breasted overcoat 02/01/26(Sun)13:07:05 No.18645204 This will be my first overcoat. I am thinking of buying 1 wool black, 1 wool dark brown and 1 leather black.
Which breast type should I go for? Note that I will wear it unbuttoned mostly.
Also, should it be go all the way down to my shins or stay at knee level?

Single can look good but look best over a suit. Plus can look good both done up and open. Double can work with a lot more but generally only looks best when buttoned.

If you're shopping on ebay, just find one that looks good and then look into the manufacturer if you aren't familiar with them. Don't go in searching for a particular brand if you don't already know of one.
