so you added what? 40lbs or so to your squat in 4 months, most likely newb gains which are mostly neurological as your body learns to move the weight more efficiently.
How much muscle mass do you think you gained from this?
Maybe a few ounces or a few pounds at most?
If you just did a proper cut you could have lost 25lbs at least during that same period.

recomping technically works for noobs but you should be twinkmaxxing and then bulking from there because twinkmode is an S tier physique for attracting women and for general health too
staying kinda fat and disgusting while getting stronger is mostly pointless
