It's a completely new browser engine, not based on Firefox or Chromium.

02/03/26(Tue)09:47:34 No.108048128 The engine isn't the problem, even if it technically passes all the web tests in theory there are too many user agent whitelists that only allow Chrome. Presto (Opera) and EdgeHTML already died to this and they had big companies backing it.
You just know Google will make it hard to play YouTube on Ladybird.

I wonder if they are going to be able to use DRM and you can watch Netflix on it. GNOMEs browser for example will never be able to do this.
if they want this browser to be big they need DRM stuff.

This doesn't have much to do with privacy as you can achieve that with Firefox and even Chromium. For most /g/ anons it's probably about hating Google/Mozilla, and secondarily interest in new tech.

I took a look at the Ladybird source code and it's fairly clean. It's incomplete but it already blows all of the other niche alternative browsers out of the water. In the future, I'd like to implement, perhaps in a patchset, "the goyim know mode" that limits functionality to what is needed for 4chan type sites. I'd also like to have a custom HTTP header manager where access keys can be registered per site to avoid captchas. With that we can establish a goyweb.
I'd like to do this in a way where at browser startup you enter a passphrase which decrypts a HTTP custom header file, which is in memory only, so just closing the browser when done werks for basic at rest security.

02/03/26(Tue)22:14:00 No.108053560 at this point in my life, i'm not swapping browsers.
we're in an era where things have been established enough that wasting my time on a new product isn't worth it for me. the last jump I made was from Netscape Navigator to firefox.
I've tried and used before: iexplore, edge, netscape navigator, firefox, konquerer, gargle cum, vivaldi, brave, opera.
I can safely say firefox best fits my use case and I have no plans on changing to chromium slop. If brave used gecko I'd consider a swap to brave, but it's unlikely. You have no privacy on your system anyway, backdoors are added at the hardware level before you ever get your pieces.

Nah he picked and placed some other stuff but... that's what that AI did too. My point is it's not impressive to hook up a web engine to a UI given the tools we've had for twenty plus years.
I can't find that video right now but there's another one of him demoing NextStep and he writes a database admin GUI front end in a few minutes. He writes some Objective C but yeah it's mainly using the NS class library. He didn't use millions of BTU of energy and thousands of gallons of water to do it either.
AI isn't doing shit that wasn't done 30+ years ago in minutes by a virtual nocoder.

my favorite thing about "white replacement conspiracy theory" is that noone actually disagrees on the basic facts. the only real difference is whether one thinks its a good thing or not.
