That's one of the fastest gaming drives on the market. How much is a shitty 0.5MB/s drive?
>>
>>108049028
we need China to go full iptheftmaxxing and flood the market ASAP

>>108049028
I got a 2TB WD NVMe drive for about $200 in May last year.
Now they're pushing $600. Basically the same drive.

>>108049109
I got a 4tb 990 last week for 500

We're gonna be right back at tiny SSD boot drive and spinning rust for files and games.
>>
>>108049243
I never lefted
>>
>>108049243
Yeah but spinning rust is also hitting all time highs as well. We're going to be stuck with 64GB eMMCs and 1366x786 monitors

USB drives are for bringing clean Notepad++ installers to your grandma's computer. How can you trust them with 512GB? The one in OP pic doesnt even retract or cap the connector. You couldn't pay me $100 to use it.

This. I swear every USB3 flash drive I've used can't even saturate a USB2 port on writes. They're all complete dogshit from my experience. My work has a bunch of Kingston Datatraveler G4 sticks lying about and despite being USB3 they choke and fall over under even moderate write loads.
If there are any flash drives that aren't useless for anything more than small bits of data I'd love to know what they are. I know the real answer is to use an m.2 enclosure instead but surely somebody makes a stick that doesn't have woeful performance. The USB stick form factor is much more handy than any kind of drive enclosure.

Just look up benchmarks, there are drives that are basically mini sata ssds like the bar plus that op posted

For five (5) whole minutes until they get hotter than the devil's rectum and your transfer rates drop to kilobits.

I had sandisk 32 gb in my car to play mp3s and lot of files were unplayable or stopped playing in the middle of song just in like 3 months after saving them into it. Now I have cheapest Lexar 32 gb and it still works without even a glitch after 2 years. ScamDisk is shit

Do the names of these "companies" directly translate to anything?
>>
>>108049498
The brand makes zero difference. What matters is the controller and nand they use.

Yes, as God intended.
>>
>>108049028
They *can* cost that, if you go out of your way to find who is trying to rip you off the most.

Everywhere else they are still a reasonable price.

>>108049099
You're about two and a half decades late on that.

>>108049260
You will. Because you are a fucktard.

>>108049326
Not been an issue for me yet, you got any evidence?
>>
>>108050423
Existed for quite some time. You can get microSD in 2TB...
>>
>>108049073
And yet it's still a lot slower than basically any SATA SSD + USB to SATA adapter.
>>
>>108053587
i ain't fitting a whole ass sata ssd and adapter in but asshole dude

512gb micro sd cards were $40 back in 2023. I bought 3 of them. Currently using one in my phone and another in a chromebook. Still have one unopened. We'll never have those prices again.
