>guy is a miserable child rapist
>out of sheer guilt he decides to use his wealth to help people
>(they) don't like the idea that rich people can see filthy peasants as people, he gets warned with several conspiracies pushed against him, most notably the slander that he wanted to put microchips in our brains
>this doesn't stop him, still determined to help people to clear his conscience
>(they) throw him under the bus
I never truly understood his character, but now that we got the last piece, I have absolutely no doubt that he was being honest, and that was his demise. Doesn't make him less of a miserable child rapist, but at least he's a million times more honorable than the names that are still censored in the emails.

He never really had anything to do with Windows, it was a weird graphics library for DOS and was never supposed to be a whole OS.

1) Influential doesn't mean good
2) He's responsible for DOS and a basic dialect, after that it was all management at best.

A lot of people don't understand that women can't give consent until they're 40.

Well he bought DOS from Tim Paterson for $50,000. It's a bit silly to dismiss his contributions as "management at best" when the result was a success like no other.

I also dispute that Windows isn't "good", it was in fact so good that everyone else abandoned what they were using and flocked to Microsoft's system. Even if you're a modern linux user, a lot of that wouldn't be possible without Microsoft leaning on hardware companies to conform to standards.
