in a store show room lighting it looks like a horrendous lcd compared to a glossy oled next to it, way worse than shown here
that worse in reality? maybe not but glossy will be better unless dim room
you trade off direct reflections to diffused light and lowered contrast across the entire screen
there is no way you will prefer that in a quick look even with reflections on the glossy in pure image quality
sometimes it helps a bit sometimes its fucked
only way for them to look comparable is in a dark room with no light on it, even then a matte coating will hinder some of the clarity to some degree depending on how bad it is

Well the main benefit of a native 4k panel today is to be able to use dldsr for 8k which is already huge.
1440p looks like ass indeed and I came to that realize it on my....1440p monitor when I tried turning off 4k DLDSR. The jump in clarity absolutely monstrous.
As I've said, it's not equal to native, but it's clear enough to be visually as good as the same resolution you're downsampling from would look on the next larger monitor size.
